  1. It's been said before but bears repeating: Congress should cut UNEARNED entitlements, of every kind, before cutting EARNED entitlements. Anything else is breaking faith.
  2. You are not wrong. And that's an excellent, and proper, use of a F-bomb.
  3. Nothing to add, just want to be in the thread in case Gravedigger's buying...
  4. And....not a single fuck was given....
  5. The huge pay raises of the late 90s-early 2000s -- mandated by Congress -- were nice.
  6. I was thinking "nice special effects" too!
  7. I got bupkis. Ios7.0.3. Safari, Mobile version of site. Maybe I'm fratting myself with some setting somewhere. Need a -1 for this stuff.
  8. Quoting myself to check functionality. Issue: mobile version on safari w/ios7: like/dislike buttons not visible anymore. Also, some users have numbers (1,3, -1 etc) above their names in posts...some don't. Whazzup? Is there a "mobile version" user manual somewhere?
  9. *sigh* One more time: if you ask me if you can READ a SIB, ANY SIB, you can read it, including the recommendations, if you have ANY remotely legitimate reason to (aircrew, maintainer, etc). But you can't HAVE it. Nor will I get you TAB access. (The Tabs have the data the SIB used to write their report.) LOL By way of explanation: I originally wrote something like: "...the c-17 mishap, even if you fly C-17s"...then I genericized it. I'll go edit it so it makes more sense.
  10. Perhaps I'm not communicating well. I'll try again for xaarman: you do not need to see the recreations, listen to the CVR, watch the HD video of the T-38 mishap, even if you fly T-38 aircraft. You do not need the crews 72 hour and 7 day histories. You do not need to listen to the spouse interviews, or see the crash site photos, or read the autopsy reports. You don't need toxicology, or school transcripts, or training records, or FEFs. You don't need to read the SIB deliberations, the metallurgy reports, or the human factors analysis. You DO need to know what happened, and what's being done to prevent recurrence, in AFSAS final report detail. Which is why if you ask, I'll let you read the final and/or MOFE for ANY mishap. Even more importantly, the SIB has to do its job and put forth meaningful, effective recommendations to prevent recurrence...and the MAJCOM must implement them rapidly. The system won't work if privilege fails. And it's a very very good system, and works well. ETA: grammar buffoonery
  11. Re timeliness: I've been a Class A SIB BP and a few other roles...the instant we believed releasing info was necessary to prevent future mishaps, we sought the MAJCOM/CC's permission to put the fix in place (Mx action, TO change, etc). Contrary to popular opinion, you probably do not instantly need to know what happened. If you're really interested in flight safety, go read the 91 series, and go to ASPM/AMIC and become a safety officer. Safety reports are full of very sensitive info and are not for the curious. That's what AIBs are for. ETA: I routinely look up reports and TELL the curious/interested what happened, without releasing privileged info. That's what safety offices SHOULD be doing.
  12. Immel-spin. You'll know it if you ever do it.
  13. Robin Meade. Just sayin'
  14. Ok. Rep buttons just popped up. Check mark for +1 and an x for -1. Full version menu option at bottom checks. Nice work! (Sorry about the -1 above...once you press one, it's permanent)
  15. I thought it was funny. Safari on iOS 7.0.3. No, mobile site (not thru Tapatalk) has never offered those options. But there used to be menu items at the bottom of each page offering you "back to squadron Bar" and "use full version". Don't see em now.
  16. Oh, you mean like: no text modification options, no like or voting buttons, no image upload option, etc? If so, it's working like a champ.
  17. DFresh...Not noticing anything different about the mobile site...what should I look for?
  18. Okayyy...is there a way to have two instances of safari open--one private and one open?
  19. Ok mods, I'm not a tech-neophyte, but am having an issue. I use iphone4s w/Ios7 to access mobile-version forums via safari, in private browsing mode. I leave safari window open all the time, but EVERYTIME I return to the forums two irritating things happen: 1) I get a popup ad for tapatalk, and 2) I have to re-log in even if "keep me logged in" is checked. Is there a mobile-version setting in your end that would cancel the automatic popup TAPATALK ad, and keep me logged in? Thanks!
  20. Helo-- if that were true, then would that mean our senior leaders would willingly sacrifice a subordinate's career to appease politicians?
  21. So to summarize: Good dude is IG at Aviano, selected for O-6. Is accused, then convicted of sexual assault. Conviction overturned, reinstated, PCS to DM. Politicians outraged, AF re-investigates, 9 yr old affair unearthed, 12AF/CC likely redlines promotion and issues "discipline" COMACC decides "show-cause" is in order. Guy retires as 04. That about right? If so, I'm not sure "justice" has been served, or "honor" restored to the Service.
  22. That was just before the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor, right? Edit: spellin' buffoonery
  23. People (majs) here (C-NAF staff) have been stressing since no CY14 promotion board calendar has been published--meaning they're working PCS & OPR dates blind, and that can have some effect on the ol' PRF.
  24. O-5 board turned on (sts) for March 2014. You read it on BODN first.
