  1. I'm glad he's back. I'm very unhappy that in doing so, we just validated that we will, in fact, negotiate with terrorists, and in doing so we put a price on every American's head.
  2. In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. --1Lt John McRae, RCA, WWI
  3. I will restrict another human's rights when that human commits a crime...like illegally immigrating to the US.
  4. Bayonets are most easily donned/doffed with the helmet on.
  5. Nice criticisms, Albert. Got any suggestions? Ever read the JAG reports on sexual assault convictions? Do you have any ideas on how to do these three things: 1) create a service culture that abhors sexual assault? 2) ensure credible sexual assault claims are fairly and thoroughly investigated, and 3) to eliminate the threat that non-credible sexual assault claims have on careers? Without voicing your ideas, the service will keep coming up with their own. ETA: your critique that this is a distraction from mission focus is spot-on. But the service does have a basic responsibility to provide a relatively safe working environment for all of us. Hazard mitigation includes crime prevention.
  6. Mess dress = tuxedo Service dress would be appropriate if you're in the pews.
  7. And whose fault is that?
  8. We DO have such a system. Our system requires documented feedback, and multiple levels of EPR/OPR review for truth before signing. If you don't know where you stand, it's not the system's fault. It's your rater's...and yours.
  9. Which is why UPT/UNT ADSC should be 6 yrs. No AFSC for PCS, or school. And no stovepiping as policy. And no ACP bonus, for anyone. 3 yr ADSC for O-4 pin-on. Folks who'll stay, will. Those who won't may change their minds. In all cases, commanders will be motivated to entice their HPOs with "desirable*" next assignments. *to the individual.
  10. Volunteer immediately for C-21.
  11. Nope. We're being SERB'd and ESERB'd out of existence.
  12. Hope they had the required SAF/PA and HAF/A3O approval (AFI 11-202v3 para 5.22.1, and AFI 11-209 para 5.5) Just sayin'
  13. It only deters rational, logical thinkers. It IS an effective defense.
  14. Good to hear. Hope it works out!
  15. I've done that a couple times. Make sure everyone is on the orders, do a partial Dity, file Your voucher. Then use same orders w/TMO for the HH goods and file another voucher for her at that time. Only gotchas: everyone must be on the original orders and "later" must be within two yrs of your RNLTD.
  16. Many communities & MDSs have TS requirements...AFSOC, AFGSC, AFMC, AMC, ACC, etc...and you'll need it for your staff/AOC tour. Get it as soon as you're able, and keep it updated...it's very useful outside the service, too!
  17. I have a 4s running iOS 7: what screenshot do you need?
  18. Must be an idiot, cannot locate baseops.net app for iPhone in apple App Store, and the pop up that took me to the App Store didn't bring it up either. Can I get a PAR to the app?
  19. There's a HUGE difference between a BSM and a BSM with a V device.
  20. Or, just ask for Timmay!
  21. Two of my summer cycle guys printed their PCS orders today. No specific action by anyone--system is working per SOP.
  22. Ring...ring... "Deborah, it's Mark" "Hi!" "Hey, I need a SECAF waiver to approve a bunch of my officers TERA/VSP apps..." "Whatever you need, Mark" "Thank you ma'am...official paperwork to follow, ok?" "Sounds good, I'll let my staff know to expect it" Done.
  23. Doesn't matter. There are NO future four stars without one.
  24. Just remember to pre-brief the called party that the conversation is NOT private.
