  1. I would imagine so! I open fat tire with the same design all the time! It was a jab at the Osprey's lack of high DA hover capability. Half of the posts here are going to be ripping on other aircraft.
  2. Does the CV-22 opener have the power to work on the Colorado beers?
  3. Too bad we can't go back to these. Speed lacing and the possibility of cowboy boots on non-flying days would be nice.
  4. SIB is out.
  5. Not going to happen unless you go ANG or AFRES.
  6. Middle of the name tag or half for the jacket. The ones who push the rules usually know them the best.
  7. You mean FLEX and ADWAR is how we plan and execute an air war?
  8. The AF FOIA page usually has the executive summaries.
  9. YouTube embeds still do not show up bit the other issues seem to be rectified.
  10. I wonder if the guys that didn't have any secondaries were ridiculed.
  11. The videos on SIPR were amazing. I'm glad they sanitized released them.

    Gun Talk

    Just a tidbit.
  13. I was taught to use the opposite hand with fingers closed and palm out to approximate the AIM method. For example if I was going to be entering a standard holding pattern, I'd hold my left hand to the HSI, with fingers closed and thumb at it's open position. If the reciprocal of the inbound leg is below the thumb line it's a direct entry, between the pointer and the thumb-teardrop, pointer around the horn to the thumb line-parallel. It's complicated to explain but easy to demonstrate when you hold it up to the HSI drawings you have linked. It'll get within the "conveniently aligned" WAG satisfying the 11-217.
  14. Or just have a switch for ADS-B Out just like you do for Modes 1-4. FENCEing in, ADS-B Out - Off.
  15. I tried to use it for my last TDY but the uploaded receipt .pdf file was too large for DTS so I had to scan them anyway.
  16. I'm 90% sure the J course is a PCS now. If not it's a long TDY that is "programmed" to be less than 179 days to prevent a HHG shipment. It will definitely take longer. You will be authorized 600lbs of HHG for the TDY and it will not be accompanied. Check the ABQ thread for housing locations. I stayed on base for the 8-month HH-60 MQT and loved it. A townhouse with rental furniture and cable/Internet for less than $60/day and a 10 minute drive to work.
  17. Except for helos which are at 74% (H-60) and 82% (H-1). Once again confirms that helos rock.
  18. 1-2 per class per base is normal.
  19. Works for me. FF 40.0.3 and Windows 8.1
  20. It'll be just like Ace Combat. Shoot those fuckers all at once!
  21. Embedded YouTube videos do not show on the android app. Tested multiple times on the flying videos thread. Also sometimes the app crashes when refreshing the "unread section or switching betweeen "timeline" and "unread." Using latest android os.
  22. That would look great in the PMR.
  23. Looks like the Army will be picking up some at least

  25. And were back to 2005 and CVLSP. This is at least the 5th rime they've tried to recapitalize the H-1 fleet. The only capability upgrades that would actually increase the capability would be a glass cockpit and a fast fin...just what we tried to POM three years ago. Anything else would just add weight. The current aircraft has been neglected for over a decade because a new helo has been "only 3-5 years away". Also no rotorcraft exists that can meet the current requirements in two of the three missile fields. Any compensatory measures that would enable the H-60 to meet requirements will also allow the H-1 to meet it. I don't know about the NCR requirements.
