FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)
Tnkr replied to AOF_ATC's topic in General Discussion
Your right. I shouldn't get so butt hurt when people obfuscate. Let's put the part of your response I quoted to the test. There's a lot of current and former AF folks here. I'd love to get some real world examples of senior leader events (three stars or higher) of an open and honest questioning in an open forum. I can think of three times this wasn't true for me and zero where it was open to real questions. Roche at Mildenhall, and two 3 stars that spoke at SOS. One might have been ASBC. My memory for PME is short. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)

Shack. If I were CSAF or SECAF and I found out about this I would think that the commander responsible was trying to 'protect' me from tough questions. We're talking about leaders that have to stand before congress and answer the really tough questions. It seems a bit paternalistic to shield these people from Airmens' questions. If they can't speak to crowds and have the answers on hand then they do what Gen Welsh learned in WIC: I do not know but I can get that answer for you. I'll ask the A1 why this happened and I'll post the answer to my Facebook page by the COB tomorrow. And then make sure it happens. That's how leaders earn and maintain credibility. FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)

Holy condescending, batman! I think you missed the point of his comment. Or maybe you didn't but just want to pretend you did. I think that's in the AFI on AF leadership. His point was not that he was personally offended that HIS question wasn't taken. Rather, it's that our fearless managers don't have the stones to allow their people to ask honest questions that a significant percentage of us are trying to get answers for. The ideas of integrity, excellence, and service (service runs in both directions, not just up the chain) once again stops at the O-4/E-6 level. I apologize in advance for what seems like a vitriol-laden response. I can't stand intellectual dishonesty. Liquid, if you honestly believed that his point was that he was sad for not getting called on, then I retract my statements at you but defend my overall point. I would guess it means approve or disapprove. Could there be a third option? Involuntary extension, I guess. Sts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Conspiracies imply that there is a higher order intelligence at play. Will any of us that have ever dealt with AFPC be willing or able to commit to the idea that there is an overarching higher order intelligence in A1? -

Good thing A1 got rid of that after action report/continuity book from the last two rounds of this circus. They were taking space were the BBQ contest award can go! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
You might hide it from your wife, but the NSA already knows....

In azimuth's defense, you won't be able to see it at the end of the month, either.

FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)

Ok, thx. I got nervous for a minute. Mine is still at BPO as of this afternoon. I was checking every 15 minutes, but now that we're strategically delayed, I've throttled back to every hour. It's ok that I use 'throttle back' as a tanker guy, right? We have those so I thought I might. /sarc -

I need some help. I've been tracking the VSP pretty closely and trying to keep up with this thread, but I'm not tracking the 'new IRR' doc. Where and when did that come from? Is this something new since the strategic delay? Or are we talking about the change in form from the Dec PSDM to the late Jan/early Feb PSDM? I suddenly find myself in an unusual attitude and need some help. Thx in advance. -
Roll call has been strategically delayed. Please check back with myPers regularly for updates.

FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)
Tnkr replied to AOF_ATC's topic in General Discussion
Probably because he has a JSF program that is way behind time and way over budget, a tanker program that is hanging on by its teeth, a new strike bomber that he needs to find money for, senators that are fighting the A-10 retirement, sexual assaults every other weekend, and the CSAR hello replacement. And I'm sure I missed 69 other issues. I'm not normally one to defend upper management, but everything I've heard and seen of this cat has been legit. And I second that someone needs to drop BODN on him. He'll be in Nellis soon, any takers? -
See Greg over there? Greg is wearing 37 pieces of flair.

I skimmed the article but didn't see anything about grandfathering. I would assume that current members would need to be since we missed all the years of dod contributions. Any happen to catch info on this?

I think that the saddest part about this is the backlash attempting to protect the women. From what I've seen, most of the sex-based objections have come from men trying to 'save' women from this 'sexist' tradition. We've become so brainwashed with this victim culture that we don't wait for actual victims to be heard. It's paternalism at its saddest. If the ladies banded together and did 'don't wash your hair July' I don't think you'd hear any women shouting about how sexist that is toward the men. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Link worked for me on the iPad. It's interesting to go back and see how many ground fatalities come from the PT test. More reason for you all to have a 29 inch waist. -
What a great thread! Here's some of my Doc stories from my EGUN time. 1. I watched O-5s and O-6s picking up cigarette butts for Combat Proud. My first realization that the AF had screwed up priorities. 2. He came in to shoot a commercial. All the parking curbs (they held the rank placards for the spots. We didn't us sign posts) had to be reprinted brown. We did a squadron cleaning that would make Martha Stewart jealous. Took us three days. He landed, went straight to the commercial, then left to visit Lakenheath. 3. We got tasked to fly him and his band around USAFE (and the Deid IIRC) over the Christmas holidays so he could bring morale to the troops. Each show was a mandatory formation for the base. On Christmas. 4. On flying Doc and his band back to ramstein, the jet had a fire in one of the engines. Crew handled it like pros, pushed on the ETAR. After landing, no thank you, no good job, no recognition that there was a fire and the T.O. says to land as soon as practicable. Just walks his happy ass off the jet like he flew himself home. Wow. I feel much better!

Totally makes sense. Good thing Boeing been keeping those 707 flying so parts stayed on the shelves. -
BLUF: I have zero experience with this. Therefore, my advise is limited. Step 1. Go see JAG. And that's all I've got. Good luck, and let us know how it plays out pls.

Sorry, Bender, but there is so much wrong with this....

The worst part is that she doesn't seem to have the moral understanding or introspective capability to be embarrassed or understand why people are upset over this.
