  1. Saw it. Bottom line: the acquisition process failed, but we're gonna buy this jet no matter what. Kinda defeats the purpose of talking tough to Lockheed. "Fix this shit or else." "Or else what?" "Well, nothing really. But we'll talk bad about you on a tv show only old people watch. "
  2. ....Availability?
  3. I'm not sure how the ADCON chain works for CRGs. I'm a tenant on an AMC base. When my sq/cc hit approve, cms gave him the option to forward on to the base cc (not in my chain) or send back to AFPC for special routing. My cc selected option two and wrote instructions for who it should go to. AFPC took those instruction and wiped their collective a$$es with them. Then sent my app to the base wg/cc. Luckily we have a good relationship with this cc. He coorded with my wg/cc and clicked approved so our apps could move down the line. One of the coolest "take care of your (and not your) people" I've seen, and not just because it benefited me. Now, maybe we'll be denied because of this; I'm not convinced that 11's will get out. Between this act and getting to wear colored shirts on Fridays, I might pull my app and stay in. That last was sarcasm. I'm at the "referred to BPO" stage as well.
  4. Holy sh!t, bro. That wasn't a rant so much as a WIC debrief!
  5. Two. Also, clear your SSL cache and log in to vMPF with the email cert. Not sure why that matters, but.... BTW, anyone have trouble loading the new portal? I have needed to reload two-three times to get it to look correct.
  6. Thx. I should probably have known that considering we're in UEI season.
  7. What's AFIS?
  8. Holy thread revival, Robin Olds!
  9. I think the real questions will come when the first batch is announced. For instance, I think most of us have been told that the first batch is likely to close a month after the window opened. I'm guessing that when (if?) A1/AFPC looks at how many of us dropped an app in the first 6-9 minutes they may change the batch date from one month to 7 minutes. And I'll bet only a FOIA request would reveal it.
  10. Flare- I'm wondering what training or specialty you're in that made you such a hot commodity. I guess it's possible you just pissed the wrong person off but 18 month deployments in a two year span? Sheesh. I hope you're flying, tho somehow I doubt it.
  11. Hard to say. I agree that 13-130 says that TA will be considered complete if selected for separation. If they get far enough down the batch to your app and the only hang up is TA, I have a hard time believing they'd want to continue paying you thousands of dollars per month for the hundreds they paid for you masters. Then again, this is AFPC... BTW, one thing to think about. Rumor is that as soon as you have a separation date approved, you are considered unemployed by most banks (loans, etc.) and insurance companies. May vary by state, but look into it if you're thinking of buying a house once you've been VSP approved/RIF'd.
  12. Checks. If our studs f the form check-in (just an example), we spend time drilling down the dfp to find out why and how to fix it. Think the AF brass do that, or do they go with their preconceived notions? Think AFPC will dfp this FS disaster? Of course not. As far as they're concerned, this went off as planned.
  13. FWIW, PSDM 13-130 attach 1 para 11 states that members separated by VSP with ADSC for post-9/11 GI Bill will be considered completed with their commitment. Obviously this is counter to PSDM 13-65 (I hate myself for knowing these numbers by heart but fly so rarely that I couldn't remember the normal left hydro qty yesterday) but when we all start filing FOIA requests to figure out if the website delay/time stamp mattered or IG complaints for not having ADSCs waived it may make a difference. BTW, we used the naval observatory phone line to start submitting at the appointed time. Took 5:04 to finally get the website to properly open and submit. 2002 11M. Good luck to all.
  14. Congratulations on completing pilot training. Now get cracking on your masters.
  15. Hi, all. Long time lurker, and I know I have no cred with you all, but I talked to a woman on the mypers hotline earlier this month when we thought vsp was kicking off on the 14th. When I asked about the most important time, she said the date/time stamp happens when you, the member, clicks the final submit button on your application. At that point your CC will get an auto email to go start the approval process. I pressed to test that on the 14th just in case and my CC did get an email. She said that your application will be part of the batch based upon your stamp (sts) not your CC's approval. Not sure I buy that all the way, but it's what she said. Hope that helps someone.
