  1. I just did the CPT program in April and was very happy. It's not really fun, but it's not really difficult either. You're busy for 10 days straight, but its definitely worth it in the end. Plus, if you use VA, they somehow know exactly how to do the paperwork such that it gets approved really quickly. I finished on Apr 11, and I got my VA refund check from CPT on 5 May.
  2. On the newest VSP Q and A page, they say that approvals and disapprovals would go out at the same time. Oops... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. New pulse: https://www.af.mil/News/ArticleDisplay/tabid/223/Article/484584/may-5-pulse-on-af-force-management.aspx Still no change in officer VSP approvals since the 28 April "Pulse". 5 May - 380 28 April - 380 23 April - 340 14 April - 275 8 April - 167 3 April - 0 (Approvals started) 1,600 total officer applications, and 380 approved, ??? disapproved. At this rate, will we know in 10 days (or mid-month)? Will we find out prior to the 22 May FY15 VSP window opening? And will you be able to apply in FY15 VSP if you haven't been approved/disapproved before it opens? I feel like I'm watching a train wreck in slow motion....
  4. But we're so close to 3000 posts in this forum.... Plus, the FY15 program is essentially the FY14 RIF that never happened on time.
  5. I called yesterday and got the standard mid-May estimate, though she was careful to not promise anything. She appeared to just look at CMS and had no amplifying information. The FY15 numbers, in my estimation, do NOT include approvals thus far. These numbers are annotated as of the end of March, and I think that several of those numbers will decrease once they figure in the April round of approvals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Yes, I didn't get a chance to read it yet. Not sure if it had any major changes beyond the elimination of '05 from the RIF... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Just posted. Exactly the same as January but now 05 and 04 are not RIF eligible... Says the data is from March... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Anybody had any luck with MyPers and the new matrices that were supposed to be published last week?
  9. Yeah mine was written in February. I wonder what it says... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I heard (this is second-hand) that two '06 11Bs from Ellsworth got disapproved yesterday (somehow); notification was from their commander. One '06 11B was approved for PALACE CHASE. The VSP applicants are currently deployed. A call to the TFSC today reiterated that applications are still in process and will be approved/disapproved by the middle of May. Not sure if that means approximately 10 May or 15 May...
  11. Also note the information on the website (legit? Who the F knows?). It say notification of approvals and disapprovals will be accomplished no later than "approximately 10 May." Whether that date holds any relevance or can be interpreted as "mid-May", who the F knows? One thing is certain, though, is that this is the softest deadline ever. Who says my deadline is approximate? More of a target, than deadline in my book... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. It would have been smarter for AFPC to execute this in a graduated manner. Announce a 3-step voluntary process with distinct application windows: Expanded PC, ADSC Waiver, and then VSP. Expanded Palace Chase (1 to 1) only for the first month. Pause for a week and process applications. Release a new matrix (preferably one with numbers vice colors). Open the ADSC Waiver window for a month; you get out of your commitment, but no separation pay. Pause and process. Release new matrix. Now open the VSP window for a month. Pause and process. Release new matrix. Announce the RIF eligible year group/AFSC and offer one last chance to VSP for those who get their RRF and realize that they are #69/69 in the group because they deployed 7 times instead of finishing that last Master's class. Now use the RIF to meet your final manning targets. This way, the most motivated people to get out will go first. As long as you announce the plan early (and then stick to it), people will have more time to plan and I think it would be a more equitable process. Transparency would help too...
  13. I noticed they mentioned the "less than 20" emails that went out disapproving the already-approved (but not eligible) TERA applications. Absent was the additional notification (hundreds, I think) that went out due to a "glitch." Like Panch says, "a real Pro at patting ourselves on the back."
  14. Officer and enlisted voluntary separation pay AFPC has received more than 1,200 officer and 6,800 enlisted applications. Even though the VSP window does not close until May 1, more than 340 officer and approximately 2,400 enlisted VSP applications have been approved as of Apr. 18. AFPC will continue to process applications in all eligible AFSCs, enlisted grades and officer year groups. "AFPC will continue to process applications in all some* eligible AFSCs, enlisted grades and officer year groups." * Applications with ADSCs requiring waivers will be processed if they were on the original waiver list. Those ADSCs added to the updated list require more time to process because [something]. Unless your application with that ADSC has already been approved; regardless, you may or may not expect an email shortly after your approval saying your application is disapproved. This may or may not be accurate or a glitch in the notification system. "Even though the VSP window does not close until 1 May, more than 340 officer and approximately 2,400 enlisted VSP applications have been approved as of Apr 18*." * Even though we said that applications would be processed in monthly batches, we can still revel in our ability to move to goalposts to ensure we never miss a deadline....
  15. Thanks spaw, I wasn't trying to be snarky about your post; I just wish that AFPC would release clear, non-contradictory information. Some stuff says they are waiting until May 1, others brag about how many they have approved prior to May 1. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Do you mean that VSP applications requiring UPT ADSC waivers will be held until after 1 May? Every ADSC requires a waiver through the LADSC waiver program, but there are several people who have now been approved with ADSC for PCS, GI Bill, and others. It seems that if you were good to go on the 13-65 matrix, you are getting approved. If you were waiting on the Expanded Waiver Authority, then you have to wait until after 1 May. It would be nice if AFPC explained this, as their actions do not match the info they release. It seems some ADSCs are viewed differently than others. I wonder if they will be weighed differently in the approval process as well... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. It seems that their intent is to process applications with ADSC after May 1. It also seems that no one at AFPC reads the PSDMs that they release and that the people tasked to draft (and approve) them apparently don't go to any of the meetings... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Any year group/ADSC info? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. What if AFPC actually completed a task early? Instead of waiting (again), they decide to go ahead and process the apps that have been there since February 6.... Well I can hope in one hand... Also, why the delay until 1 May? They've A) already processed non-ADSC applications and B) will have another VSP window open up in later may (I assume this is for the folks that missed the first VSP). If you had so many people apply that were ineligible, it is highly unlikely that there are people out there that said, "I'd love to apply, but I'm ineligible." If there is one rule that AFPC continues to reinforce is that you should ignore all information they publish, apply early, and hope it sticks. If someone hasn't already applied (or reapplied in the case of those early denials), I doubt that this extra time will see any new submissions. In the meantime, all of us whose lives and careers have been on pause since January can just sit on our thumbs even longer.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Yes, the 15 apr matrix shows 03 11M is now closed based on end of March numbers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Is there a newer matrix than the April 3rd one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. You'd think that all of our applications would have been ready for approval, pending the waiver. Then, one click and VSP approved.... Any other words on those folks who apparently already got approved with UPT ADSCs? If those are real, what reason is there to wait til 1 May on the rest?
  23. Another VSP approval today: Via FB, 2002 11B Unknown ADSC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. What have they been doing with our applications for the last 3 months? They could have prepped by doing all the admin stuff so that once waiver authority was granted (which they expected), they can just click "approved".... Whatever...
