Haha, no, but it sure as heck looks like 10 days (business days even) after the window closed! Why, for the love of per diem, can we not get any accountability for this disaster? Get on with it already, so we can figure out how the next several months of our lives will pan out! Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App! -
FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)

Think the FY14 RIF got canx'd because they didn't have enough notification. New RIF matrix now makes '05 and '04 year groups in LAF ineligible for RIF. I'm hoping they just got enough volunteers, but I'm not holding my breath. PSDM 14-38 is posted on MyPers and details the FY15 RIF. I know a few 2004 11M's that got picked up for PC, so maybe they are still considering 2005 for voluntary programs (still on the most recent vol matrix). I feel like 2005 is about to get screwed…first Maj board delay, now "not considered" an overage… Wouldn't it make sense to reduce our YG, and simultaneously reduce the pool of those competing for Maj? Like two birds with one program…guess that makes too much sense. -
FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)

So I have a speculation for the delay to VSP, particularly for 11M's. Within the past month, I have seen 3 of my friends get approved for Palace Chase. Two 2004 11M's and one 2006 11M. I'll bet ya that they are cranking through the PC app's to knock out as many FM requirements before they start approving our VSP apps. If you think about it from their perspective, it's a smart move, but they should have been honest and up front from the beginning instead of giving us the "will process in monthly batches" "strategic pause" "process all remaining and adjudiacated apps after 1 May" "were rusty at Force Managment" Seriously, AFPC is in the business of dealing with peoples lives and they have delayed this proccess to the point where it's straight up unprofessional. Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that if we had been 50+ days late on a suspense, there would be paperwork and/or firings. It amazes me that the AF will fire 9 CC's for a cheating scandal, but no one has taken any responsibility for this debacle. Days since... Original FY14 PSDM release: 125 VSP application window: 80 # PSDM iterations without any result...4 # Days AF personnel will have to find a job by the time AFPC "gets around" to approving VSP apps...150 or less -

Congrats to all the TERA approvals!! You give us hope the these program are proving their purpose. Don't lose faith everyone, 1 May is right around the corner. How I look at is, there are 300 pending applications, and at least 415 pilot overages so that's pretty good odds that if you applied you have a fair chance at getting approved with the waivers now. -

So, no kidding, I believe that what I asked the SECAF is actually being addressed. First, UPT ADSC waivers are approved and delegated. Second, another TERA/VSP board for those officers who are RIF eligible to apply for voluntary programs prior to the board in Oct. Your welcome! https://www.af.mil/News/ArticleDisplay/tabid/223/Article/483997/af-opens-additional-tera-vsp-windows.aspx -
FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)

E-mail from my CC said the status of my VSP App is awaiting my functional's input, but my CMS status says AFPC OFF Voluntary Separation Pay on 2/13/2014. No movement in 2 months, with the exception of uploading my additonal docs on 10 Apr by AFPC ENL Voluntary Separation Pay...weird that the Enlisted VSP branch would handle my docs. I know the incoming (Apr) functional, may be time to use the bro network... -

YGBSM! Why are they opening another TERA/VSP window, when they haven't even finished processing the first round??? How do they even know they'll need an additional window until they complete all the current applications... 113 - days since release of the first FY14 Force Management PSDM 68 - days since the VSP application window opened 15 - MORE days until they'll even look at the remaining applications, who have ADSC's, which are now waiverable…I hope this is worth the wait, prolly should have just applied for PC... -

Back on the RIF matrix published in Jan, the 2005 11M were overmanned by 84 out of 466 eligible, which is about 18% of our year/AFSC. This could have changed in the past 3 months of course, but they haven't published new numbers like that for officers to my knowledge . -

Thanks for sharing all the VSP approval info, that is great news that AFPC is cranking through them little by little. I had movement on my case yesterday, they finally uploaded the the SOU and a MFR that I wrote to "comply" with the newest VSP PSDM criteria ("FY14 Voluntary Separation Pay" comment). I didn't want them to have any excuse to turn my app around, but the best part is I submitted through MyPers on 22 Mar...only took them 18 days to upload it to my CMS case. I hope that 1 May is the magic date, it aligns with my redeployment so I have that to look forward to...only been waiting on a decision for almost all of my deployment. Ha, and I got bumped from the Summer VML, so no news on an assignment either...at least I'll have a chance to apply for PC if denied VSP. 20 days...come on May. 11M (C-17) 2005 ADSC: UPT through 27 Jun 17 -
FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)

Approval at my deployed unit: 13B 2007 1 year left on ADSC Sq/CC and Wg/CC both recommended dissapproval (due to flood of 13B's applying), so CC recommendation may not be that highly weighted I'm still waiting: Referred to BPO 7 Feb 14 11M (C-17) 2005 ADSC: 26 Jun 17 (<3 yrs from Sep date request) Checked my CMS active cases today and received "An error has occured" message instead of my case #....hopefully that means they are processing it in some way. -
FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)

So I've gotta give credit to FLY6584 for giving me the idea, and I can completely understand how he wasn't able to read his question during the SECAF visit…they only had 5 during ours. I was tired of bitching about the VSP eligibility and decided to ask the SECAF myself while she came to visit our deployed location. Here was my question: "Madam Secretary, thank you for taking my question regarding the FY14 Force Management Programs. On behalf of the 2,500 pilots in the 2005-2008 year groups who were identified for the RIF and voluntary programs, my question is on our VSP eligiblity. There are 415, or 16%, currently identified as a coverage in the Air Force, and many have sought to exhaust "voluntary" measures available, vice waiting for the "involuntary" boards. Many pilots have already been denied for VSP due to their Pilot Training service commitments, while others have been processing at AFPC since last month. It has been expressed that the waiver authority for our Pilot Training commitment resides with you, Madam Secretary, so we would like to know if you are expecting to waive these commitments for eligible volunteers? And, if we won't be waived, will this group still be expected to meet involuntary boards without being afforded the option of voluntary measures?" Her answer: "I assume you are referencing the overages for the mobility pilots, because fighter pilots are currently undermanned. We just took a pause to relook at these programs, and you should be seeing some movement on the applications for those in overages soon"……..so, she didn't really answer the question specifically. Final question: "To reference the first question, if someone is denied a voluntary program, are they expected to meet an involuntary board?" Her response: "I would assume not. If they are eligible to volunteer, I don't know why we wouldn't let them and then send them to the boards. Am I correct? Let me ask my leaders (looks at the Generals in the front row). We'll have to confer with the personnel center and get back to you." I'm not sure what answer I was expecting to hear, but I definitely got the 'Politician Special', vague and brief. I'm one of the lucky ones that still has my VSP application in the system (submitted at 0050CST), so I'm hanging on to hope. From the feel of the forum, I would definitely reapply if you have already been denied. If you want out that bad, what do you have to lose? Other info of note: Use voluntary measures prior to involuntary boards Only 11,000-12,000 voluntary apps submitted (my guess is mostly pilots) Looking to cut 16,700 from AD in FY15 2x Involuntary boards, 13-15 months apart. If you meet the 1st board, you won't meet the 2nd unless from disciplinary actions Specifics: 11M, 2005, ADSC through June 2017
