  1. They pay to ship your Household Goods (HHG) to UPT and back to your home of record after UPT. You will be TDY at PIQ and any other training. Therefore, your HHG will be at your home while you are at training. You will get Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) for your UPT location. You will have to either rent out your current home or sell it before UPT; unless you can carry the mortgage for 13 months while at UPT.
  2. I had similar problem, but I Palace Chased. I don't think you will have any luck getting the SPD code changed. That's generated from Randolph based on how you separated and you can't find any info on what SPD code means what. Only the idiots down there understand what the codes mean and they don't publish them. The dumbass GS-5 answering calls at the Total Force Center is zero help understanding your code or telling you how to get medical insurance for your family. My entitlements were updated by my Reserve MPF (through MilPDS). They were only able to update it after I signed my Oath of Office, which MUST be dated the day after you separated from AD, and my 1288. After they update MilPDS it should flow to DEERS. Bottom line: you won't have your eligibility updated until you have the oath of office and your MPF gains you and back dates your arrival to the day after you separated. Good luck.

  4. I was put on the scroll in August and 7 months later I still haven't been approved. Anyone have any recommendations? Is there someone I could call or visit to process my scroll?
  5. Did said unsponsored applicant get excepted by the board?
  6. Sooo...apparently the AFRC POC is out of the office until next Monday. It sounds like the list was finalized and dude had to bounce for a week. I find it hard to believe that one individual is the only one authorized to disseminate the list to the units but nothing surprises me in the world's greatest Air Force. Deaddebate, if able, would you please let someone know the units are trying to get a hold of someone at AFRC HQ to get some info on when the list will be disseminated? If not, then I wouldn't expect to hear anything until next week.
  7. My recruiter said results will be released Monday 2 Feb. Good luck to all!
  8. Thanks all. Called the MPF at the unit and they are now projecting to gain me the day after separation. I also asked them to put me on the books for the 7-8 UTA Newcomers. I wouldn't have been able to do that if it wasn't for BODN. Hopefully, I'll be good to go. 'Preciate ya!
  9. Anyone know what it costs an 0-3 to send a child to Heritage or Annunciation for kindergarten? Would they provide financial aid?
  10. Anyone know how long it takes to get in-processed into the Reserves and then put on orders? I am separating AD on 2 March and supposed to be on orders for training on 12 Mar in the Reserves. Is this a realistic timeline for shoe-clerks to knock this out or should I try and push my date earlier? I'd appreciate anybody's insight who recently made the jump. I've contacted my unit and recruiter and got the "ahhh, I am not quite sure".
  11. I just called the Total Force Center to see if I can cross train to be a Navy Seal. They put in a ticket. We'll see how this goes... That video is ing awesome!
  12. Traditional Palace Chase Approved! 65F 1 year AFIT ADSC added on to Reserve contract (1:3) Recommended by Sq/CC, Wing/CC, AFPC 1288 w/ 3 endorsements (11M) and intent to hire letter submitted to AFPC AFRC UPT Board next 7 weeks at AFPC, 5 weeks at SAF/PC I appreciate all the info from this board
  13. this... it's best to worry about the things we can control. As long as our package is turned in, FCI complete, developed a plan for UPT (and have a backup plan too), civie job lined up or at least prepped, moving arrangements figured out, family on-board for whatever happens... we can drive ourselves nuts doing anything different. In my opinion, which means nothing at best, AFRC wing/sq CCs are in possibly the toughest situation any has ever been in. Sequestration is still on the table (even though it hasn't happened), active duty is downsizing and encouraging qualified (A/Cs, IPs) to go reserve, airlines are hiring for the first time in a long time, Total Force Integration (TFI) is ill defined, at best, wings are losing planes or changing airframes and AFRC/HQ doesn't want to lose their UPT slots. So essentially, CCs have increased requirements from TFI, less flying hours from sequestration to meet the increased requirements, qualified pilots coming in (who probably have a bro or 2 already in the squadron), senior dudes who would rather retire than activate again, if TFI is what they say it is, many units changing airframes or losing squadrons completely and have to make current pilots happy, and lastly they have to continue to hire as they have traditionally done in the past. They probably don't have the time or clarity they want to fulfill their UPT slots. I am sure their manning documents are as fluid as they have ever been. The good news for us, it sounds like anyway, is that if our package is turned in and ready-to-go the odds are good we'll get picked up, regardless of age waiver (100% hire rate in FY14 summer board and it sounds like they are demanding more candidates from recruiters for FY15). Timing may not be perfect, but f*** it we'll be meeting good dudes and flying planes in a couple months. The other good news....Browns are beating up on the Bengals right now! Good luck
