  11. Had he simply rotated early, took an extra hop to get airborne, and then raised the gear up while in a safe climb we wouldn't have this thread. The early vs late rotation is a red herring.
  12. No they oversped their gear because they lost track of airspeed. Talking f16 since i dont know the gear limits to the f22 RC for a gear overspeed was not the late rotation.

  17. Ive heard the rumors. Yet to see it. Its gonna cost 5-10x per flying hour of a TX to operate. Doubt an old apg 66 and beat up rwr on a A model viper is gonna provide any better threat replication for 5th training.
  18. What do you expect, a fleet of Flankers? What is contract red air currently flying that's mo betta than a TX airframe wise? With an EA pod and a purple net type training mode it would be pretty useful to augment a few real 5th gen aircraft operating as red air.
  19. Theyve been talking about tx as red air for a while now. The AF is using 38s now so im sure they are considering a TX with some kind of embedded training mode. Cheaper than a fleet of 16s or f35s as red air (of which we dont have enough). Wouldnt be surprised to one day see the tx as a tbird.
  20. My guess would the AAR capability would be for red air missions not IFF.
  21. Whats so special/challenging about flying an AC130 vs a regular 130, U28 or a fighter for that matter? No trying to be a smartass but seriously curious why you'd think they require a boarded process.

  23. Advertised empty weight of 7000 lbs, mto 12000 lbs. Mil thrust 11000 and max thrust 17000. Should be a fun plane to fly!
