1983 or so, two LtCs in the seats. Right after take off each one thought they were flying the plane. They were both trying to trim the airplane so when one let go the tabs moved. One calls runaway elevator trim, the other says I've got it too. Only took a few seconds to figure out and I had already announced that emergency trim was selected. First and only time I had self induced runaway trim.

Maybe some people learned it while in the military.

This was it. Back then if you were going anywhere in the states chances were good you were going on a 73

There were several incidents, and I think two crashes, with the rudder actuator going full travel or something like that.

That's when gunship IOs, Illuminator Operators, who were A431s became loadmasters. Funny thing about that was they had actual inflight duties. Many medals were awarded to them over the years from AMs up to Silver Stars(Viet Nam). I wonder if that FCC was on the Flight Orders.

I kicked an IF out of my sim one time for telling a student "We do it like this, but on a check ride we do it like this." I was like WTF? Then GTFO and wait for debrief. Some guys develop techniques that they think are so good it'll reverse global warming, then later realize it wasn't so great after all.

Q2s if they screw up but don't violate safety or cause mission impact. I've given two Q3s. One for safety and one that would have caused mission impact. I had to intervene both times. This was pre AFSOC when you had to sell a Q3 to the CC or DO.

I may, or may not, have brought a 68 chevy truck cab, hood, fenders, doors, grill, basically the whole front end, from Chino CA to HRT in a AC-H.

The first one was in a bar at Osan, second was at the Fireside in FWB. Maybe we need a 'crazy shit I've heard in bars thread'.

I'm curious. Did you have to do anything to your house to support charging an EV? If so how much was it? I've heard it can be pretty expensive.

I remember two very weird stories told in bars. First was a guy talking about getting a BJ from a bottle calf. Never thought anything could top that until years later a guy trying to explain how you could fuck a chicken without killing it. Didn't hang around for the full explanation of that. Iv'e been drunk enough to think some pretty stupid things were good ideas but never been drunk enough to even think about something like that.

My 98 Honda Accord is getting 35 MPG, about two gallons to get to work and back, so that's what I'm driving right now. I had 500 gallons of ethanol free gas delivered early last year before the price went up. Haven't tapped into it yet. If gas gets much higher I will, hoping the price will go down. Also had 500 gallons of diesel and about 1,000 gallons of propane delivered. It would cost me more than double to have that delivered now. I have two old school diesels. An 84 Mercedes 300TD and a 97 F-350 Powerstroke. Both have over 300,000 miles on them but they are still healthy. I'm going to experiment burning used filtered motor oil in them, diluted with gas or diesel. That's my new energy policy, we'll see how it goes.
