My 98 Honda Accord is getting 35 MPG, about two gallons to get to work and back, so that's what I'm driving right now. I had 500 gallons of ethanol free gas delivered early last year before the price went up. Haven't tapped into it yet. If gas gets much higher I will, hoping the price will go down. Also had 500 gallons of diesel and about 1,000 gallons of propane delivered. It would cost me more than double to have that delivered now. I have two old school diesels. An 84 Mercedes 300TD and a 97 F-350 Powerstroke. Both have over 300,000 miles on them but they are still healthy. I'm going to experiment burning used filtered motor oil in them, diluted with gas or diesel. That's my new energy policy, we'll see how it goes.

We were yanking and banking to get away from one of these, and some 6s, one night in the Desert Storm. They didn't get a lock on us thankfully, we ran out of chaff but still had the partially effective pods. Good thing the Iraqis were not as good as these guys.

I lied, can't believe I forgot about the AC-130A. Only two flights, one as as a gunner helping out the Duke bubbas and the other, years later, as an evaluator FE during an ASET. The ASET flight was on 129, the First Lady. 129 was the first C-130 the AF bought, it's a ''53 model.. It sits at the museum on Eglin.

Oldest Herk I flew on was a '61 model going through school at Little Rock. We had a '62 model at Hurlburt for a few years, 62-1855, but it flew pretty well. I remember one particular trip to Vegas in it(pretty sure it was that one) among others. The '69 model gunships and the '64 model OG Talons I flew on were the reason I drank, some tails more than others.
