Memorial Rock Painted Over in Livingston County
Muscle2002 replied to Toro's topic in General Discussion
They definitely need to repaint the rock. I'm not sure how money makes up for their insult other than being expedient, but serving those who served the nation (i.e. community service for some DVs) would go a long way in showing their contriteness. -

Forgot the Metamucil this morning? -
Yes, the rankings from the Sq/CCs go to the OG/CC; are then modified as seen fit by the OG; and are then sent to the Wg/CC around July/August for the December board. The boss I worked for didn't use the AAD as a primary discriminator...it was always job performance first, but in the event of a tie, it usually came down to the AAD because he knew that the board would probably do the same thing. At the wing level, I have no idea what black magic occurred to determine the rankings, but I know that a spreadsheet delineating who went to SOS; accomplished their AAD; did SOS by correspondence; was an SOS and/or other training program DG; and was an SOS Outstanding Contributor was requested by the Wing Staff for DP/P determination, etc.

While the FEF is looked at, the board looks at everything in deciding who they will invite out for the flight eval and interview. Moreover, the FEF is a major reason they instituted the Comprehensive Candidate Eval a couple of years ago. The board knows no two communities grade checkrides the same and they were beginning to see folks come through here who looked great on paper, but with hands like cinder blocks. If the rest of your package (sts) is impressive, then they may give you the nod for an interview and the chance to prove the Q-3 was an anomaly.

That's one of the problems with Airbus' take on FLCS design. "I'm sorry, Dave, but I can't let you do that."

WTF, don't they have better things to do, such as passing laws that state it's illegal for Congress members to commit insider trading? https://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/23/us/politics/insider-trading-ban-for-lawmakers-clears-congress.html

Of course it goes both ways (sts)-- there's a handful of TPS grads deployed to non-flying, non-test, non-acquisitions billets.

Sorry, Steve, but the blokes with the Union Jack are most definitely not actors.

I suspect you're right in that it's used as motivation, but there are definitely better ways to motivate folks to perform than to suggest they're wasting time if they don't finish in the top 10%. FWIW, while I was there, a flight mate of mine said that his SR told him the same thing. Essentially in that SR's mind, SOS in-residence merely existed as an avenue to pad someone's record given SOS by correspondence achieved the same PME requirement.

In the sense you're thinking, yes you're correct...there is no numeric value. However, there are different orders of infinity. When talking cardinalities of sets (the "number" of elements in a set) one can order the different "values" of cardinalities. For instance, if N is the cardinality of the set of natural numbers and Z is the cardinality of the set of integers, then N=Z. However, I, the cardinality of the set of irrational numbers is much larger than N or Z.

Great, so you're saying said former instructor is really instilling a sense of pride and professionalism into these jackass Airmen. Like the Terrazzo gap at the zoo, there's an ever-growing gap between those who do and those who "support"!

I agree for the most part on what you stated. Having worked a similar issue as an eval monitor (read queep monster), it seems that unless the Shirt owns one of the signature blocks on the EPR, his/her opinion is only that, an opinion. It's good that the Shirt apparently tried to prevent an overly inflated EPR from being processed, however, in the perfect world, the Shirt would go to the rater/additional rater to voice his/her concern and not send it back through the eval review workflow. I assume that the latter is what happened as it sounds like the OP was somewhat surprised.

For the non-MAF types, what is the GRACC program?

Not that Rainman needs defending, but he wasn't denigrating you with his replies...just being blunt and offering instruction--the way it should be done in the flying world. Also, even if Rainman was disrespectful, you won't bolster your argument by writing in a similar fashion. Doing so just comes across as quibbling and after a short period, people tune out.

Does anyone have the FCIF they can pm me? I just left ACC and am now inprocessing AFMC so I have not seen it yet.

I would venture a guess...

Why is being wholesome wrong? I'm not saying you said that, but it seems more people deride Tebow for his values than they deride genuinely deserving players like Roethlisberger (accused of sexual assault), Ray Lewis (implicated in a murder), or the many self-aggrandizing players just to name a few. Sure he's vocal about his beliefs, but the actions (or alleged actions) of the aforementioned others speak just as loudly of their values without the accompanying vocal cacophony. Edited: Grammar

That, and morale patches. Edited for spelling.

M2, Do the restrictions against photocopying also apply to non-commercial entities; for example, the Texas DOT requested a copy as part of our out-of-state car registration renewal.

The senior rater can and I bet all do strat their "top" eligibles. Things like #x/y BPZ, #x/y all zones, #x/y Capts; you get the idea. It only kind of gets into secret code when looking at a PRF that does not have a strat.
-
Depending on the board, the DP allocation can vary from 80% for Major to just ~40% for Lt Col. The SR will usually stratify the top 20% of the eligibles which may explain why you thought the number of DPs was 10-20%. Being an SOS DG and having a DP cannot hurt, but the board should/will look at the whole record.

Slight thread hijack, but on the note of CBTs, I could not find any definitive guidance on whether as a pilot I still need to take SERE 100 on ALDS. According to other websites from the Navy, SERE 100 is only required if you haven't done SERE B/C training like we all have; obviously AF guidance would be better. Does anyone know the answer? /hijack

RRF metrics / "retain" vs "definetly retain"?
Muscle2002 replied to theat6bisasham's topic in General Discussion
Unless your year group has people who've already pinned on Major while others have not, then you needn't suspect the wing of conspiring against you...at least not in the way you suggested. The DR allocations are 75% for each year group. Please correct me if I misunderstood what you tried to convey.
