  1. "President Biden’s bold action is a strong step in Democrats’ fight to expand access to higher education and empower every American to reach fulfillment" - Election year Pelosi vs. "People think that the president of the United States has the power for debt forgiveness. He does not. He can postpone. He can delay. But he does not have that power." - Non-election year Pelosi
  2. I wonder where the blame will be deflected for the additional inflation this will cause.
  3. Thankfully, only said his name once. Two more times, and he will reincarnate with another throwaway account.
  4. As a retiree, I have been shocked at the stark improvement in medical services, with the simple change of a PCM that has no connection to the military.
  5. "If you push a negative hard and deep enough it will break through into its counterside; this is based on the principle that every positive has its negative."
  6. So, you’re saying it was Thursday.
  7. Kinzinger interview transcript with cbs. It makes me wonder if he’s a mole trying to expose the real purpose behind the Jan 6 commission, or if he just wants to be a good team player for Pelosi. https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/adam-kinzinger-transcript-face-the-nation-05-01-2022/#app
  8. False hope is literally the AF’s favorite management tool. Without it, the Bobs might actually have to lead.
  9. This has led to some of the funniest press briefings I've ever seen. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/press-briefings/2022/05/18/press-briefing-by-press-secretary-karine-jean-pierre-and-national-security-advisor-jake-sullivan-may-18-2022/ PETER DOOCY: A follow-up to the disinformation board. Last week, you guys said that you needed this Disinformation Governance Board at DHS to make sure that freedom of speech is protected across the country and that these platforms are not used for forms of disinformation. So what changed? MS. JEAN-PIERRE: Look, the Department of — of Homeland Security, they began their statement report- — repeating that the board had been intentionally mischaracterized, which is a little bit of what you were asking me, and they were explicit about what it does and doesn’t — it does not do... PETER DOOCY: So if it’s pausing because you think the board was mischaracterized, then the disinformation board is being shut down because of disinformation?
  10. Met a viper driver at Tellez Tamales in San Antonio once, buying a few hundred tamales on an out and back. Nutrition is important.
  11. Timing is everything. It needs to be in place far enough in advance of the election to be useful. Elections, after all, are a stated primary target of this board. This way, if both houses swing hard right, the administration will have a tool to undermine faith in the legitimacy of those newly elected senators and representatives. Especially if they start treating the President with the same courtesy that was shown to the last one.

  13. To even be considered, you need to have an established date of separation, a statement of service letter from your commander (or equivalent on g series) with all the data listed above, and you need to be within 120 days of your date of separation. If you meet those criteria and all other screening criteria, you’ll get considered for an interview. If you get selected through the interview process, you’ll get a conditional offer. Once you accept the conditional offer, the hiring authority drafts and processes a 180 day waiver. If the waiver gets approved, you get a firm offer and set up your start date. BL, you’re taking a leap of faith. You shouldn’t think of GS employment as a safety net. If GS is your primary COA, make sure you have 6-9 months of savings to cover a potential period of unemployment.
  14. There is no process for the applicant. If the hiring authority wants you, they have to complete the waiver as part of the hiring process.
  15. Officer or enlisted? If you’re an officer over 20, you’re not setting a DOS. You’re applying to retire. Once you have an approved application to retire, you have to apply to change the date, and you have to have a compelling reason to do so.
  16. Significant discussion on twitter and Reddit about the Ghost of Kyiv. Ukrainian pilot with potentially 6 kills today.
  17. His opening sentence incorrectly identifies the CMSAF, which casts doubt on the credibility of his other sources, evidence, and conclusions.
  18. It’s either a just a virtue signal. Or this is malicious compliance. Possibly both.
  19. That reason…and, it’s an election year. If the Democrats lose both house and senate, I expect this administration will be treated with the same courtesy as the last one. The AP will do everything necessary to avoid that outcome.
  20. It makes perfect sense. The data might show that someone important lied to gain power or profit. In 55 years, all of the beneficiaries who could be held accountable for data inconsistencies will be dead.
  21. Support? Yes Mandate as a condition for enjoying the rights of citizenship? No
  22. And even less likely to be killed or injured by COVID.
  23. It’s the Trompowsky opener. He knows he doesn’t have a chance if he plays this traditionally, so he’s trying to create subversive early dilemmas for the person playing black. Which, from the camera angle, is us. The viewer.
  24. This. Occasional spins of the stirrer and break the mounds with a fork.
  25. Their motivation appears to be expel, embarrass, and control. Our motivation seems to be providing money to military contractors, advancing a narrative, and minimizing political embarrassment. Sadly, this nexus of priorities doesn’t lend itself a short or conclusive end.
