RPA/Cyber has their medal on the way
HU&W replied to ATIS's topic in Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA/RPV/UAS/UAV)
Also, their definition does not sound routine or like something that would be handed out to everyone. Honestly, the superlatives they use sound very similar to DFC, which requires Presidential signatory authority and all the associated vetting to be awarded. I don't know if this would go to that level, but I imagine it won't be your RPA PCS medal. -

They're already routine in the RPA community? Didn't know that. -

By that logic, how is the AFCAM below the AFAM you get for being the group POC for a Dining Out? There's more to medal precedence than just exposure to personal danger. I agree that BS and BSV are in a completely different ballpark, but the combat actions of an RPA dude certainly provide more immediate battlefield impact than being the NCOIC of finance. As I said, it should not be routine, and AM/AAM don't really fit. There should be an AM/AAM equivalent for the more routine, but still combat oriented actions which would fall appropriately below those medals, but above PCS medals for 3 years of an admin job. Edit: I just read through the criteria for award of the Bronze Star (no V) and Legion of Merit. Both would be appropriate awards of existing medals for the type of exceptionally meritorious combat service, even remotely, without having to create a new award. -

Disagree. The precedence of this medal gives an upper echelon for performance in combat. It will obviously not be awarded in any but exceptional circumstances, similar to DFC, but appropriately below it. There should also be an air medal or aerial achievement equivalent for more routine, but still notable, RPA or Cyber actions. Caveat: if this medal starts getting handed out like candy, I completely agree that the precedence is inappropriate. -
Yes. That's an extremely basic and generic form of diversification. Some investors use it to mitigate risk.

Certainly this is satire. Oh wait, I guess not.

Did you read the memo? It says nothing about sex or any other type of banging, homo or hetero. There are numerous heterosexual couples that meet the criteria listed in the policy letter, but for whatever reason are not married or not married yet. Why deny them benefits based on their social choices when a couple with identical criteria, other than sexual orientation, are granted them. This is the first step down the same road of affirmative action where government creates a culture of unlawful reverse discrimination (ie offset previous unfairness with new unfairness). The solution is simple. Just remove all references to "same sex" from the policy and don't discriminate against anyone.

Granting concealed carry permits on a national basis for military makes sense, not because we're a 'special class', but because we frequently PCS to states we are not residents of without reciprocity.
-
Wow, that policy really discriminates against those who are in a committed relationship and not of the same sex.

Signed and promoted. Excellent idea.

OK, so just to make sure I have this straight. A CIVILIAN (Jeff Bergdolt) who works in the Maxwell PLANS shop wanted to have photographs taken of officers that he thinks are not abiding by a regulation and have the base populace write commentary on that officer. I don't see how this could possibly go wrong. Here's the text of Bergdolt's column. On a side note, I've always associated the wing plans shop with combat or at least operational mission planning. I guess I'm a little confused what Maxwell's operational or combat mission is. Uniform enforcement?

Wow. I'm sorry, just wow. I read that entire document and just couldn't stop. It was like watching a train wreck. wow. ETA: There were so many acronyms in there, starting on page 12, I was having flashbacks to the SOS readings.

Never heard of that website before now. Thanks for the good laughs.

Nothing wrong with an S&P tracker for long-term lazy investing. At least it beats inflation and is relatively safe if you have to fortitude to ignore market swings. Doesn't take much more work though to select sectors, although that involves more risk if you miss something.

1. Properties are not overpriced. They are priced according to the market. That's why they sell. 2. Rentals are priced much higher than the cost of buying because good ones are so scarce. You can actually make real money in Clovis as a slum lord. 3. Don't base major financial decisions on the advice of an uninformed friends. 4. Consider all options and think outside of the box. There are probably things you haven't even considered yet.

Quick reminder post from a few years ago, but pertinent in today's environment. On a separate topic, loved this speech to congress. Edit: KCCO

Short answer - yes. Numerous chats with hiring folks in industry have led me to define the following generalized categories for MBA. Employers have a generalized expectation for the outcomes of hiring a graduate from each level. They correlate well with Square's comments. Caveat: I am AD and not an HR guy in industry. 1. Top tier 2. Top 25 3. AACSB Accredited 4. Non-AACSB Accredited, but regionally accredited 5. Non accredited for-profit Nobody cares how much tuition you paid. Your financial records don't go on the transcript. ETA: there may be specializations or networking opportunities that a non-AACSB or a for-profit provides that could change things up. Go with whatever works for you.
