Just bought a Taurus PT745 Compact .45 for ccw. I plan on getting an ITP and tuckable holster. Any opinion on it?

They already upgraded some of the pilot alts to pilot and released ENJJPT. I haven't heard anything about the nav alts moving up and cadre doesn't know. Anyone upgrade to nav or know anyone who has for FY11?

Same happened to me. 2.6 CGPA and 3.4 School GPA. I think it cost me a pilot slot

What about summer classes? I'm taking 2 really tough courses now and am hoping for a D in both, but have done well in every other class.

I know I only have GA experience, but approach clearances. When a controller rattles off a long clearance and tacks other instruction on there like circling and missed instructions, it can be confusing especially when it's something other than expected.

I just had my AFSC drop and although I received 38F1 (Force Support Officer ), I have a lot of bases to choose from. There are very few bases that I can't be assigned to, so with that what are the best bases for a single Lt to be assigned to? Not that it matters what I request anyways... I was thinking in this order: Hickam (long shot?) Vandenburg Travis Charleston Aviono Incirlik

Anyone know the difference between the USAA Career Starter loan and the Pre-Commissioning loan and who qualifies for each? If you google the starter loan, it comes up as $30,000 at 1.99% and the pre-commissioning loan comes up as $25,000 at 4.99%. I'm in ROTC and am thinking about the loan to invest, but don't know if it's worth investing at 4.99%.

Thanks for all the great info! I'm going to keep trying to get to UPT till I get too old. I should have 3 chances for AD boards before I reach the age limit. I want to try airfield ops so that I can get ATC experience in case I want to go FAA ATC after the AF. Anyways, good info on the clubs. I might try to get involved at the NAS Jax club if they have good prices before I go AD. Hopefully wherever I'm stationed has a club, and if not a local flight school.

I just got passed up in ROTC for a rated slot, so I won't be flying in the AF unless they pull me from the alt list; I'm not counting on it. Anyways, I want to fly for a career once I get out of the AF and as of now have ASEL Comm and CFI, working on CFI-I and AMEL Comm. Not only do I want to fly while on AD, but I want to instruct and build hours. I have several questions that I will put below. Assuming there is an aeroclub on base, would I be allowed to instruct on the side? If none on base, how about instructing off base? What are the clubs normally like? What kinds of a/c do they usually have? Just light singles or twins too? Would I even be able to work there, or is it normally old guys who have been around forever and won't leave? Would most LTs even have time to instruct due to workload?
