Pilot Shortage Deepens, USAF is SCREWED.
I know, let’s just let the FTU instructors just deal with it! It will make our numbers look good too!

Pilot Shortage Deepens, USAF is SCREWED.
Didn’t you know that the US is trying to even the playing field with all the other 3rd world nations in the name of fairness?

T-6s Grounded; More OBOGS Issues
Yes, they are actually testing it

RUMINT: AD FTU F16s to Kelly Field
Why volunteer to go to DLF when I can go to the Guard and fly my explosive-laden fast jet while also hauling terrible people from point A to point B while my family can finally have some stability. Bonus points, I don’t have to deal with AD
-
T-6s Grounded; More OBOGS Issues
No. That would be “excessive training”. T-6 straight to the FTU

RUMINT: AD FTU F16s to Kelly Field
There is also a rumor of two squadrons of Vipers showing up to Whiteman for FTU

Pilot Shortage Deepens, USAF is SCREWED.
Oddly enough it’s the bureaucracy that is getting in the way. There hasn’t been a lack of trying at least in some ANG units.

T-6s Grounded; More OBOGS Issues
That and AETC’s desire to cut the F-16 syllabus to 30 something sorties should work out great

Arizona F-16 stirkes cable makes emergency landing
Violate a START treaty, make O-6....sounds about right for the AF

Pilot Shortage Deepens, USAF is SCREWED.
The great part is an O-6 in the ACTF downgraded all the MAJCOM commander’s (AFSOC, GSC and ACC) “Critically non-concur” to their helicopter plan to just a “non-concur” for the CSAF. So no biggie.

Pilot Shortage Deepens, USAF is SCREWED.
For the Task Force dedicated to this problem, I would bet it all that people forced back not enjoying life is not even part of the equation. Pilots are just numbers to them and their PowerPoint slides don’t care about your feelings or actual combat power or even winning.

T-6s Grounded; More OBOGS Issues
Didn’t you hear, “any risk is acceptable cause the CSAF said so,” according to the Aircrew Crisis Task Force.

General assignments questions
Retention? I don’t believe they actually understand that word. They seem intent on just producing their way past the retention issue.
-
Promotion and PRF Information
Isn’t that what the AF desires? A bunch of people trying to be the next CSAF regardless of everything else

What's wrong with the Air Force?
Maybe actually having exit surveys that mean something. All I was asked was “are you hired by an airline?” it’s not the best option, but an option

- Civilian T-6 IPs?

Commanders are dropping like flies this year
Isn’t that the new AF motto or something?

Dream Sheet Advice
Step 5, change your handle to something other than “Sparkle” Otherwise, what Brabus says if you want fighters specifically. You will rain hate in fighters, AFSOC, or bombers. It will just end up being luck and timing

Air Force to begin testing enlisted pilots
The huge glaring issue is absorption rates. The CAF just cannot absorb the numbers in any meaningful way while still keeping quality at a high level. It would not matter if the FTUs could double the output, there would just be nowhere to go for the numbers they are trying to push. Who knows, maybe they are just trying to help the Airlines out with all the “excess pilots” during the next RIF/VSP cycle.
