Interesting to note that Bud's Police has now sold out of the AR linked above, and the price has gone up by $80. Glad I got one the day after the election.

M2, I've got the SuperTuck Deluxe (Horsehide Leather) and think it's amazing. The comfort and design is the best I've come across. My only issue is that I'm using it to conceal a .45, which isn't all that concealable when it's shirt and short weather.

More than likely wont get those until you get to Phase III of UPT.

Saw it. Liked it. Wasn't really digging the ending, having heavy shit happen, and then going back to "earlier" to try and lighten the mood. I think ending it at the dark part would have given it a grittier, more realistic feel.

Have you looked at crossbreedholsters.com? They have some very nice XD IWB holsters. I've got two of them for my pistols.

Didn't find out the T-1's, but for CAFB 13-08: 7 x T-38s (2 were International)

More than likely. Guard bureau does not want to spend money paying someone to just sit around and wait for class dates, so turn time between courses is generally very small. I went to AMS in November, SERE in January, IFS in February, Water Survival in April, and UPT in May. That being said, if you didn't happen to get courses back to back, then you are more likely to go on and off orders until you get a stretch where they will just keep you on.

I have to admit, I never would have thought this to be a viable option if I ever decided to off myself, but I guess whatever gets the job done.

Discovery's Shark Week has a biopic of his days at sea after the crash titled "47 Days Adrift with Sharks." Pretty amazing what they went through and still survived.

Glad to know that the latest "Total Recall" movie didn't cut out the most redeeming qualities from the first one.

I don't necessarily believe it's because the Reserves/Guard are run differently. At the end of the day, we all belong to Mother Blue, so the entry requirements are going to be the same. However, my thoughts are that the AD recruiter doesn't want to deal with someone who is a possible in, when he can deal with someone who is a definite in, in the eyes of the AIr Force. Why go through all the trouble of recruiting you, and working for you, if in the end, he/she won't get any payoff from their efforts if your waiver is denied? Shitty deal, but with today's economy, there are plenty of people to choose from that don't require a waiver. You could always enlist and then apply to the OTS boards as soon as Tech School is complete. That would alleviate any potential "DQ's" for you, as you would have already had them documented at MEPS, and it wasn't an issue (unless it's something that would preclude you from passing an FCI at Wright-Patt).

Are there pics? Maybe a ball to the face improved her looks.

Saw "Rock of Ages" last night, and I'd say it's probably one to catch from Redbox or Netflix. Or you could just go and see it on Broadway (which was the best Broadway show I ever watched). The only thing that kept me in my seat for the entire show was:

I think a lot of it comes down to housing availability and situation. In my class, there are 5 married guys, but only one has his family with him, and he is on base. In the class ahead of me, there were several people accompanied with their families who turned down Capital Village (their only choice) on base, because of the housing issues and moved off base. As for places "close to base" that are family friendly, unless you like living in a trailer down by the river (or find a house on AHRN or go through a realtor to rent), then you are pretty much relegated to the apartments (Waverly, Franklin, etc.) or Audobon Cove about 8-10 minutes south of base off of 45.

They broke us up into 3 groups (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced). Beginner's were people who never deadlifted before and started with the bar (no shit). Intermediate was someone who had done one maybe once or twice and they started out with 15-20 lbs on each side (can't remember, wasn't in that group). Advanced were people who had been exposed to deadlifts and we started out with 35's on each side. The first set, everyone did 5 reps to show that they could demonstrate proper form. After that initial set, the weight was increased each lift by a set amount (in the Advanced group, we increased 30 lbs each set; can't speak about the other groups). When you approached for your next lift at the new weight, if the weight felt good for you during your one rep, then you would re-rack and move up an additional 30 lbs the following lift. At some point you would tell the assessment group that you were ready to do your 3-5 max. For me, I lifted one rep at 285, and then moved up to 315. Before I started my lift, I told them that this set would be my go set because I didn't think I'd be able to do more than 3-5 reps in correct form. So yes, it is up to the person lifting to call it quits. Fair for people who have never deadlifted in their life? Probably not, but maybe if this becomes the new FACT, during your in-processing to UPT they can let you know what the FACT will entail and you'll be able to stop by the base gym and have a trainer teach you the correct form. On the other hand, this is the AF, and sometimes, good sense doesn't make sense at all.

They started with a 3 minute plank, but in the initial classes everyone was passing that bar, so they moved it up to 5 minutes. It's not saying you have to hit 5 minutes, but they didn't want everyone to get to the max number. I heard rumblings, and who knows if they're true or not, that planks may increase again to around 8 minutes. Any person who can plank for 8 minutes, correctly, is a beast. Noted. It's down and back 6 times each sprint.
