Bingo. Also, student records go to school MLR while attending in-res, so there are a lot of P's awarded there to folks who are IPZ while attending IDE in res. I'd bet that subset comprises the majority, if not all, of the "No IDE with a P" that still got promoted.

Affirm. But it's a bit deceptive because your duty title and training report will indicate you attended school in residence. Right or wrong, it's still a big-time discriminator and though they've reshuffled the guidance on PME recently, I've seen nothing to indicate a change in this paradigm. School in-res is still a trump card.

Yup. This isn't credible. List should be ordered and sequenced according to order of merit before it begins its routing process. In any case, it certainly doesn't warrant a long delay. As someone else pointed out, they already rack and stack for order of merit at the board anyway. Simply overlaying that on a spreadsheet with regard to pin-on time is not a drastic change and frankly it's a good change. The only thing that is a little tricky is that the boards are now using the new functional categories and not racked and stacked in one big group. This doesn't necessarily translate neatly into a single ordered list accounting for all categories. Hypothetical example: the best weather officer in the year group with an impeccable record is ranked extremely high in his category....call it 10/250 in the Information Warfare Category. How does that translate into the larger order of merit for the entire board? In my mind, it's got to be proportionally weighted as a percentage and then plugged into a master x/### list accordingly since some categories have much more people in them -- candidly I'm unsure of how they're doing this. But i gotta think this was done well before the list started its coordination process.

Negative. The balance of the list gets promoted 1October. The 2020 board results should start promoting their first traunch of selects 1Nov2020. I seriously wonder what the hold-up is. I know this list is without precedent because it is sequenced by order of merit with regard to your line number, but that should've been resolved before the list started to make its way through the coordinating authorities. End of September should've been plenty of time.

This is bothersome. They should've given you the #1 and gotten creative with the Lt Col (s)'s strat since it was of no importance to him and great importance to you. EVERY command I have been a part of would've done this.

Probably both looking at the same tracker. 19June is the last time the board results moved through a wicket. 7August is the top line date on the MYPERS document indicating that, indeed, things are moving slowly.

No inside baseball but its unusual for a board to sit this long in between reviewing bodies, especially with the As Met available in PRDA. Normally, the As Met is dropped into PRDA about 3/4 of the timeline between board and public release. At this rate, we're looking at late September release. I believe first pin-on month for this board should be November.

In that case, end of August may be optimistic

P520 LAF O-5 As Met records are now showing in PRDA. Hopefully that means a public release is on the horizon...

With the elimination of BTZ, there will be more slots for both IPZ and APZ (As I understand it, with the goal of eventually meshing those two into a single multi-year zone). I don't have insider info and thankfully have never been an exec but I would wager there will be a lot more APZ picked up this board across the rated categories with a marginal increase in APZ in the non-rated categories. I'm IPZ for this board as well....DP on my 1-below to O-5, didnt get picked up. P on my IPZ PRF. So I got that going for me....

About 2 weeks for a new O-5 board with all these funky categories. Seems like a decent timetable in my estimation (I don't have any unique insight or inside source) but it doesn't seem like much longer than a normal O-5 board. I'm IPZ this year....whatever the hell that means with the new system.

True odds that this stop movement expiration date of 11May actually holds up?

Anyone got a feel of whether this May 11th Stop Movement Date actually holds up? I am supposed to PCS in June and I'm geobach....so it would be nice to see my family sometime in the not too distant future.

Gotta assume May O-5 board will postpone until after they lift the Stop Movement, which I really really hope is on May 11th and not after.

Amen bro. But on the flip side, if your direct leadership pushed an OPR through on short timeline, it appears at least they attempted to help you. What happens at the MLR is the stuff of sorcery and unless you're a shiny penny it's tough to fare well there. If you're 1APZ this year, that puts you 15 years in service by my count. On the downslope now to check of the month club and when you retire, no one in your new job and/or new life will give a shit what you retired as. A lot of people in the Air Force game think it matters. But it doesn't. We're all gonna be Mr. or Ms. in the not too distant future. Hang in there.

Wouldn't sweat it too much. They have to promote some Ps and with the 2-line PRF, I think the Super P phenomena will be a thing of the past (although no guidance actually forbids it). Sounds like you have a consistent record as an O-4. What were your bottom line PRF Strats? 1/1 I/APZ and 2/7 Wg O-4s? Only one eligible for your SR is kind of brutal. Forces you to MLR which can be a crap shoot for non-shiny penny records.

I don’t get it. Will the board be able to tell whether you’re in zone or above the zone because on the PRF it’s the same check mark. If it’s one giant 5 year zone, some good IPZ records will be victimized.

Dang — they’re actioning this quickly! I’m IPZ 2020....don’t know if/how it affects the promotion rates. Haven’t thought that far ahead but overall, I feel it’s a good move for the Air Force and will get more aviators promoted.

Bringing it back to our circle....can confirm BPZ is going away. The upcoming March O-5 board will remain with traditional 2BPZ, 1BPZ, IPZ, APZ but expect guidance from HAF/A1 shortly thereafter if not sooner.
