  1. Be careful what you wish for...
  2. Working on his Kamala impression I guess.
  3. Initial SGTO just finished in Austin. Round 2 just started, not sure where. This is just the beginning, some...interesting...ideas in the works right now.
  4. Isn't it amazing what can be accomplished when everyone isn't so worried about not offending people, and risk aversion instead caring more about killing bad guys and breaking their shit? What if...
  5. Second that RUMINT. WG/CC.
  6. I'll just leave this here...
  7. Are you in senior leadership? Sounds like the "we don't have a retention problem" line they are spouting right now. Counter point, IPs at Laughlin fly a crap load...but no one wants to go there (unless they married a local), and all the FAIPs who leave that assignment with 1000+ hours will all bail first opportunity.
  8. Not a rumor, memo from HAF/A3T to the UPT Wg/CCs. Mayorofrollcall (not me) on IG if you want to read it.
  9. Assuming there is an executable plan to announce is a big assumption.
  10. Flying instruments at 120kts in GA and at 300kts in a T-7 is a considerable jump. How many airline guys with a couple thousand hours have you seen struggle in a T-38? Will it work for a select few? Sure. But for 1500 a year...doubtful.
  11. Turns out, our fault again. Do we paint the helo on the Deid WX shop?
  12. Definitely wouldn't want to be a witness on that trial.
  13. I'd argue that is more due to our acquisitions process being completely fubar, contracting not realizing how Lockmart/Boeing etc are going to bend them over with the loopholes, and those companies abusing said loopholes.
  14. Wouldn't actually be a step backwards, but it would be able to do it after 3pm.
  15. Based on USAF's track record of implementing any form of technology advancement in a timely manner, I think we will be fine for another few decades. That being said, if they want to start using AI to replace Finance and MPF...I would be on board.
  16. An issue with setting demographic based quotas is that they don't take into account the interest of said groups. While at least partially due to perception, ie seeing that aviation is 95% male can be discouraging to some women, it isn't simply a matter of setting a demographic for a class. Men and Women tend to gravitate towards certain fields based on interest, which could be argued til the end of time whether it is nature vs nurture, but most engineers are men, most nurses are women. Things vs people. Aviation is a "thing" field. A demographic quota doesn't make sense, and forces the wrong kind of hiring. If you want to move the number, increase the interest in the groups you want, then continue to hire based on merit. Reference the multiple female demo pilots, show them it can be done, this can be you. Interest grows, hire those who can do the thing, the number moves.
  17. Just like 90% of OIR these days. Chasing balloons before it was cool.
  18. Or what is considered a recession...
  19. I'd imagine because it seems like a good deal. USAF seems hell bent on killing them all.
  20. I had same request denied a few years back. Unlikely with their focus on throughput right now.
  21. Delayed roughly a month, but another shout out for Jon and the team at Trident! Deployed location, spouse out of the country, and at no point were Trident the limfac. Great rate, super responsive, no hesitations recommending them to anyone who is looking for a lender!
