I'd argue that is more due to our acquisitions process being completely fubar, contracting not realizing how Lockmart/Boeing etc are going to bend them over with the loopholes, and those companies abusing said loopholes.- Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
Wouldn't actually be a step backwards, but it would be able to do it after 3pm.- Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
Based on USAF's track record of implementing any form of technology advancement in a timely manner, I think we will be fine for another few decades. That being said, if they want to start using AI to replace Finance and MPF...I would be on board.- UPT Next

An issue with setting demographic based quotas is that they don't take into account the interest of said groups. While at least partially due to perception, ie seeing that aviation is 95% male can be discouraging to some women, it isn't simply a matter of setting a demographic for a class. Men and Women tend to gravitate towards certain fields based on interest, which could be argued til the end of time whether it is nature vs nurture, but most engineers are men, most nurses are women. Things vs people. Aviation is a "thing" field. A demographic quota doesn't make sense, and forces the wrong kind of hiring. If you want to move the number, increase the interest in the groups you want, then continue to hire based on merit. Reference the multiple female demo pilots, show them it can be done, this can be you. Interest grows, hire those who can do the thing, the number moves.- Shoot down over Alaska and Canada
Just like 90% of OIR these days. Chasing balloons before it was cool.- COVID-19 (Aka China Virus)
Or what is considered a recession...- Track Selects and Assignment Nights
I'd imagine because it seems like a good deal. USAF seems hell bent on killing them all.- Laughlin UPT info
I had same request denied a few years back. Unlikely with their focus on throughput right now.- VA Loans

Exiting without a strategy, or any kind of intelligent plan apparently, is squarely on Biden. Turns out Trump didn't pull out without a strategy... Abandoning our most defensible position in the country, before everyone was out was a ridiculous idea.- F-15X on the Air Force's Budget Request
And don't forget they got the T-X contract too. Despite the T-50 being available on a shorter timeline...not like we needed a new trainer a decade ago (or more).- COVID-19 (Aka China Virus)
Also of note, this has been on and off for over a year in various states over there...continuing to press with the flawed gameplan.- Captain passed over for Major, looking for advice.
I think the retention issues might take care of that problem...- The Purge Pt 2 is coming
To be fair, the same name was suggested for a male student 6-9 months prior, for the same mistakes made by each. So...sexist...no. Poor taste, sure. And neither of them were actually named that (although the dudes was pretty close).- Promotion and PRF Information
With all the young dudes they are planning to flood the CAF with, I'd say we need a few more 'under utilized' O-5s to give some lessons learned.- The WOKE Thread (Merged from WTF?)
Absolutely not...but they had SA...- The new airline thread
Front gate is more of a back gate now, love those remote loopholes.- DARPA AI fighter defeats F-16 pilot in virtual aerial combat
Right. I wasn't particularly clear. What I meant was how they will assess the adversary airborne with enough fidelity for the algorithm.- DARPA AI fighter defeats F-16 pilot in virtual aerial combat
AI had perfect data. I have no idea how they would get this info airborne. I'd imagine that will be a long way off. - Recruiting Crisis: 9% want to serve
