  1. ah that's your bias and media spin talking again
  2. everything trump says about putin is true. he's smart, savvy, and capable. respecting your enemy is a wise thing to do.
  3. Great post above. ☝️ only quibble would be the limfac isn’t money printing, but American public interest and resolve which I think is low.
  4. Evolution of NATO-Ukraine relations Dialogue and cooperation started when newly independent Ukraine joined the North Atlantic Cooperation Council (1991) and the Partnership for Peace programme (1994). Relations were strengthened with the signing of the 1997 Charter on a Distinctive Partnership, and further enhanced in 2009 with the Declaration to Complement the Charter, which reaffirmed the decision by NATO Leaders at the 2008 Bucharest Summit that Ukraine will become a member of NATO. The 1997 Charter established the NATO-Ukraine Commission as the main body responsible for developing the NATO-Ukraine relationship and for directing cooperative activities. In 2023, the Commission was replaced by the NATO-Ukraine Council, where Allies and Ukraine sit as equals. This change demonstrates the strengthening of political ties and Ukraine’s increasing integration with NATO. Cooperation has deepened over time and is mutually beneficial. Ukraine has a long track record of active contributions to NATO-led operations and missions. https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/topics_37750.htm ---------------------------- VILNIUS, July 10 (Reuters) - As NATO nations try to agree on Ukraine’s push for membership at a summit in Vilnius this week, an earlier gathering casts a long shadow. At a summit in Bucharest in April 2008, NATO declared that both Ukraine and Georgia would join the U.S.-led defence alliance - but gave them no plan for how to get there. The declaration papered over cracks between the United States, which wanted to admit both countries, and France and Germany, which feared that would antagonise Russia. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/natos-ukraine-debate-still-haunted-by-bucharest-pledge-2023-07-10/ --------------------------------- "The White House’s messaging on the Ukraine war is built around two simple-yet-powerful adjectives: “We are united in our condemnation,” said President Joe Biden almost two years ago in a joint statement with EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, “of Russia’s unjustified and unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine.” The “unjustified and unprovoked” line has been used numerous times by a chorus of top U.S. officials and allies, quickly becoming a rhetorical mainstay of Biden’s maximum pressure campaign against the Kremlin." An explosive New York Times exposé by Adam Entous and Michael Schwirtz sheds light on major developments preceding the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. According to the report, the Ukrainian government entered into a wide-ranging partnership with the CIA against Russia. This cooperation, which involved the establishment of as many as 12 secret CIA “forward operating bases” along Ukraine’s border with Russia, began not with Russia’s 2022 invasion, but just over 10 years ago. The problem, rather, is one of basic security perceptions. Moscow repeatedly warned — for many years before 2014 — that it was and remains prepared to take drastic action to prevent Ukraine from being used by the West as a forward operating base against Russia. Yet that, as recounted in lurid detail by The New York Times, is precisely what has happened over the past 10 years." https://responsiblestatecraft.org/cia-ukraine-russia/ ------------------------------- lots of information to unpack. it's a complicated situation and cannot be boiled down to "Putin Bad, USA innocent and good". Like most of international politics there is lots of nuance which does not make for good prime time TV ratings. my summary: the US has provoked a post cold war russia unnecessarily by pushing nato to the border of russia. a red line that putin has said for decades russia will not stand for. russia is acting as expected and trying to prevent a nato border state...while preserving their black sea access via crimea. basically russia called nato's bluff. their invasion was not done out of left field for no reason. many on here like to argue that putin is the next hitler and a wild man who must be stopped before he rapes paris. i obviously disagree and think he is a very rational actor.
  5. bro i have no idea what their plan was. i know they were not going to let NATO establish influence in ukraine. something we kept pushing over and over foolishly. the lack of critical thinking skills from our professional officer corps and diplomats is shocking. and the dismal foreign policy results back it up.
  6. and you're still trying to relearn how the russian bear fights wars.
  7. to make ukraine a neutral state and deny them entry into nato. secondary objective to "liberate" eastern ukraine from "oppression".
  8. cheers to that and you're right about heloDude...anyone that flies helicopters has to be a little fucked up in the head!
  9. that's not their objective IMO
  10. how's that ukraine war working out right now that so many of you were in love with? seems like a lot of crickets
  11. ironically the REAL threats to democracy are all on the left
  12. kamala can't even win a primary in her own party and some of you betas gonna vote her for President. worst presidential nominee in the last 60 years easily.
  13. 1. trump never said to injet bleach. that was something Biden said that trump said. don't let facts get in the way of your TDS though. "Our ruling Biden said Trump said drinking bleach could help fight the coronavirus. Trump did not specifically recommend ingesting disinfectants, but he did express interest in exploring whether disinfectants could be applied to the site of a coronavirus infection inside the body, such as the lungs. We rate Biden’s claim Mostly False." https://www.statesman.com/story/news/politics/elections/2020/07/13/fact-check-did-trump-tell-people-to-drink-bleach-to-kill-coronavirus/113754708/ turns out trump was partially right, but crude in describing his idea to inject (or spray) chemicals into the body to prevent a covid infection. "Scientists at Columbia University have developed a treatment that blocks the virus in the nose and lungs, is inexpensive and needs no refrigeration." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/search/research-news/11945/ Nasal sprays for treating COVID-19: a scientific note https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9969373/ --------------------------------- 2. Trump has denied saying to "nuke hurricanes". that is a single source from axios that is quoting unnamed "sources". "Axios reported Sunday, citing unnamed sources, that Trump asked top Homeland Security officials whether the United States could bomb a hurricane to stop it from hitting the country." "Snopes cannot independently verify the claims of anonymous sources cited in the Axios story, or claims contained within documents we have not seen. As such, we rank the claim "Unproven." This rating could change if corroborating information becomes public." https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-nuke-hurricanes/ --------------------------------------------- interesting outrage from the left, who talks about chemically altering the atmosphere to "fight climate change" "One idea involves pumping sun-blocking particles into the upper atmosphere. This process of 'stratospheric aerosol injection' would involve planes spraying an aerosol like sulfur dioxide into the stratosphere." https://www.euronews.com/green/2023/07/05/sun-blockers-us-scientists-aim-to-cool-the-earth-by-reflecting-sunlight-into-space
  14. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2023/aug/21/stolen-rigged-and-illegitimate-democrats-long-hist/ "Democrats such as Hillary Clinton, Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams and dozens of congressional lawmakers have long objected to state and federal election results and have attempted to block every Republican presidential winner since 2000." "“I believe he knows he’s an illegitimate president,” Mrs. Clinton told CBS News in September 2019."
  15. trump always rambles and goes down rabbit holes during speeches. but like TAC says very RICH coming from you guys who denied bidens mental acuity for three years. also trump will go on ANY show and be interviewed. he's the AFSOC of politicians lol (anytime, place, anywhere). kamala on the other hand is MASSIVELY protected by the media. if the media wasn't using kid gloves with her you'd see how empty she is. (reference heavily edited 60 minutes interview) there is nothing of substance she says. it's all word salad nonsense. plus shes a marxist so there's that.

  24. from the goldmine that is amn/snco page: Inbox: "Had to laugh when I saw who the IO was on the Ellsworth AIB. Talk about throwing stones in a glass house. Then Lt Col Lord, as 9 BS/CC at Dyess, led one of the most dysfunctional B-1 squadrons I’d ever seen (20+ years at the time). Always seemed to be a crew member when some of the oddest in-flight emergencies or incidents occurred. Also, anything that went wrong for his sq, he’d find ways to blame mx or another support agency…never his fault, like water off a ducks back! But that tactic backfired spectacularly when he asked wing to use his sq’s WSINT launch out to “exercise” on a weekend. So Mx generates eight B-1s, crew show, engine start….followed by engine shutdown. Turns out the good Lt Col didn’t have clearance into Nellis, because they were a day EARLY! There was no one else to blame that day. I was in the room when they notified the Wg/CC. Let’s just say it was pretty clear at that moment just how little respect the guy had within the community. Would say I’m surprised he made Col, but we all know how that goes…"
