    Huh? You mean to retire as early as possible with a 20 year reserve retirement it takes 19 good years plus 65 points to apply for retirement? So 25 days of double points? 5 weeks of working AFTP’s and RD/RSD’s?

    Initial ADSC should be 4 years for becoming an officer. Pilot adsc is after.

    How did it go a few years back? $60k a year was asked for. 48k was approved by Congress as a cap and AF said $35k?

    I believe there is an option but it goes to Sec Def if I remember right. I would ask your MPF to look into it. Or just work 4 more months. And don’t show up but max 40 hours a week or telework odd hours so that you can start the other job. If you don’t meet the AF standards for 4 months exactly the way they expect, who cares at that point?

    Always active. Made contributions on AD and it’s the same account as full time (non GS/technician) guard. If you are GS or civil servant they start a separate TSP account. Not sure about reserves.

    Thanks for the post. DSG = drill status guardsman So if I’m not getting an active duty retirement because I only did 19 years and bought that 19 years into a technician job then she gets none of it right? Just the portion from my part timer retirement when I turn 60 assuming I did get 20 good years of service.

    What is x 4???? Interested. Completely understand your post. What I’m getting at is if I buy my time into my tech Retirement since it was once mil time, that doesn’t mean she will get my tech retirement. Just a portion of the dsg which is significantly less than 20 active retirement right?

    Sorry. Not doing a good job of communicating the set up. Court order is already in. Has been for years. Only talks about military retirement. If I go tech and buy back all of my time then the only mil retirement happens at age 60 when DSG retirement kicks in and she can have a small portion of that. But pushing all of my mil time to Tech to get GS retirement doesn’t meet the criteria of mil retirement. It’s civilian service. Shoot holes in that please.

    Yes. We have. But only because we are printing money. So it doesn’t really matter.

    Actually there is a right answer. Free and fair market shouldn’t punish those who do well with their talents. Because the rest of the system depends on them.

    We are on a progressive tax system. The point of an all sales tax system is to make it fair for everyone. If you want bigger and better things then you pay more. Not because your successful. Progressive taxation of the successful hurts everyone.

    Seems like the prosecution’s case is very weak.

    The benefit of doing a universal sales tax is not having to do a progressive tax. Luxury to you is necessity to others and Vice versa. Plus most luxury things are more expensive yielding a higher tax take in the first place. The subjective nature of where to draw the line if it becomes a non flat tax then becomes the problem and doesn’t end up fixing anything.

    I think I’m not being clear enough. I’m not sure what you are talking about 20 year retirement 40% vs 50%. I’m saying on USA. Gov and dod websites it says the traditional 20 year retirement produces a monthly annuity payment. Not a pension. IRS considers it a pension. That’s what I was talking about with my previous questions.
