  1. Oh. You deleted your Japan post....ok.
  2. First google post search. “Supreme court The Constitution of Japan guarantees freedom of expression and the Supreme Court has stated that freedom of expression is particularly important in a democratic nation such as Japan. However, this freedom may be restricted for the sake of public welfare to a reasonable and unavoidably necessary extent.” Who gets to decide? The government. It ain’t free bubba.
  3. In response to your final statement, feel free to do whatever it is you are claiming I do to you in return to me. Thanks for admitting that the US has the best freedom of speech in the world and is unparalleled. We didn’t need to waste this much time to get to this point. But thanks for the agreement and opportunity to change your mind.
  4. You quote your own counter argument. It has to be “from generally accepted sources.” Hence not freedom of speech. I have proven that your statements now of Canada, new Zealand, and Germany (but to be fair you proved Germany without any research on my part) do not have freedom of speech as free as the US. Next.
  5. Yep. You’re right. I wasn’t specific enough with my statement. You can’t blame me for you being wrong though. Blame speak or shifting blame is common for those who can not use civil discourse well. So now you have made a claim that it’s almost indistinguishable from many other nations. What nations and how is it indistinguishable? You made the claim. So now you must back it up. (I’m guessing you know I completely disagree as no one in America has been fined or jailed or threatened under the law with either).
  6. Dude. Nice. Thanks. Super appreciate you taking the time to answer and provide discourse. I agree with a lot of what you said. However I am trying to change your mind. I would like to see the individual examples you speak of and the details behind the jail or punishment. I also don’t see any evidence (maybe yet) of systematic racism. Getting called on the cops based on skin color is how you feel things went down. Did you go back and ask? Is it the truth? Let’s assume for this argument it is. Ok. So two people called the cops. How many white people are there in the country. I just get the feeling because of isolated incidents of a couple of people that all (white) people are getting biased and prejudiced against. Isn’t that what we are fighting against? So I challenge all people that think there is a systematic problem to try and identify it and put your finger directly on “it”. And if you can’t, then maybe it’s at a micro or individual level and those are the levels that need to be addressed. Not by calling all or most whites people racist. There are some good arguments out there how blacks and some minorities are actually racist and receive the privileges of this society more so than majorities. Any thoughts on that? People being persecuted for a trait they can’t control? (Race, sex, age, etc). Isn’t that racism at its very core? Do things like this exist on all sides? Why can’t we focus on the measure of the individual instead of applying the crimes or mentalities of one or few to the many? Dude. I really appreciate you engaging. I’m glad to find someone that will sit and talk and not get emotional without thought. Thank you.
  7. Good thing they were all identified as such as you state above. Great point. And glad to see that it happened that way.
  8. What behavior? And how much of the fabric? Are you implying the fabric of America is racist?
  9. What change are we trying to get to? I still don’t understand what is bad about what the country is fundamentally about right now. I don’t see where black skin color is a sentence to anything that isn’t experienced across the spectrum. Please educate me if such facts exist.
  10. Sadly the OKC thing is a problem of capitolism. Someone just needs to step up and open a store then. It’s not about being provided a store. And Black lives matter hasn’t gone rouge. They were rouge from the beginning. The two female founders are adamant and trained marxists. Look it up. Their own BLM goals don’t match what you say above. But I absolutely love what you say above and agree. And I don’t think at the core of it you would find Americans that disagree. As for MLK. Wonder what MLK would actually think about this movement today? I bet you could find a lot of his words that are directly against the stuff happening now. Just because one or some people are prejudiced and or racist doesn’t make an entire skin color racist. So don’t blame MLK’s death on the country. Isn’t that what black lives matters is fighting against? Then why is it prevalent out there that Black people can’t be racist and all whites are racist? It’s sick.
  11. I wish the movement would pick a different moniker than the same one as the group Black Lives Matter as that group is not what our country is about and that name doesn’t accurately represent the group. I believe that if that was done you would find 99.9% of Americans support equality of opportunity.
  12. I’m glad you don’t want any of that stuff. And neither do I. But nothing above is illegal or racist. And the fact that you aren’t in jail, haven’t been illegally detained is good proof of that the system isn’t racist. If your neighbors have a preference, bias, or Prejudice, who cares? I for one am glad I can’t force other people’s thoughts or actions and live in a country where that isn’t (or didn’t use to be)the case. I for one would rather know that these people have these problems with me because of a trait I have that I can’t control. At least then I know it and can avoid them. What I don’t like is preferential treatment and getting ahead because of colors of skin or attributes that one can’t control instead of good honest hard work with results that differentiates you from your peers and makes your playing field unequal because you work hard. I wouldn’t think being detained because I match the description of someone is a bad thing. Let’s me know that the system is out there working for me and my family. Now if I had anything unjustly happened, false accusations, some sort of systematic racism (which I haven’t heard of or seen any actual examples) then show us. I bet you would find lots of people willing to help change the system. As it stands now that doesn’t seem to be the case. Just people being offended for how the best country in the world works. And there is no such thing as the right to not be offended.
  13. Whoa....we agree if I read your statement correctly.
  14. I think someone could make a lot of money if they could design a way for sarcasm to be obvious or emotions to be felt and understood from text.
  15. I agree. With the exception of your use of the word provide. The government shouldn’t provide us with these things. They should protect our equality of opportunities to pursue these things if we work towards it.
  16. I think it was perfect. It showed that we don’t want equality of outcome. His first pitch was awful. And that’s the way I want it from the top doctor advising the country during this time. He had the opportunity to do whatever he wanted but he specialized in medicine and became sought after and an expert thus creating inequality of outcome for those around him. Imagine if equality of out come was a thing and Dr Anthony Fauci was the Nats starting pitcher last night just because of equality? It don’t make sense.
  17. Fake social justice issues. No one goes shouting down the streets about things that everyone knows and accepts. Just like that lives of black people matter. But somehow that’s what is going on. Riots and general douche baggery is ok because something we all know is true is cover for being bad and racist. I don’t get it. I was hoping baseball wasn’t going to sign up for this fake junk. Wonder if college or high school are? Might be the end of sports as we know and love them.
  18. Nsplayer, you and I have already reached the point of understanding we will never agree. I’ve provided evidence. The press is even going to jail in Canada.
  19. Agreed. You should be able to say Muhammad is a pedophile. Regardless of true or not. Check again. Quick search shows people have been getting fined and gone to jail in Canada for words not calls to action. It’s a problem. https://www.google.com/amp/s/globalnews.ca/news/5810045/jail-promoting-hate-strong-message/amp/
  20. Thanks for finally focusing. I wasn’t hinting anything. Just pointing out how great of a country we have. The best in the world and the best the world has ever seen as designed by the founding fathers. (The last 5 months of junk not included). And in the future if you don’t understand someone’s point or context, might I suggest you ask the question instead of assume? And your last point, a point made from authority, (your comment was so out of place and received multiple "why you saying this?" responses from not just myself.) really means nothing and is a terrible thing to bring up in a discourse. It’s like a spouse saying, “well everyone else thinks so too.” So? It’s like saying well this doctor says this...... well so? Where’s the data? Where are the subjective facts that you can rely on not opinion? Thanks for recognizing that alone I was just pointing out that isn’t it great we live in the best country in the world? One that allows freedom of speech to everyone.
  21. Not condescending. Just informing you my friend. Your points have nothing to do with what we are talking about. That is the theme I have retorted throughout. You are making statements now that are false and don’t increase dialogue. They in no way support or defend any of your points and you have reduced to personal attacks you claim I am making. Well, I’m not. But thanks for the laugh.
  22. Research my friend. Yes. US is the only place that has true freedom of speech. Hate speech isn’t a real thing. It’s Marxism and socialism with some capitalism mixed in. Saying it’s against the law to not call someone by their preferred pronoun is wrong and has been the downfall of certain aspects of society. Canada, and the UK are feeling the pain and consequences of stifling freedom of speech. Research. Nothing I have said is untrue.
  23. So you are making a statement that “it’s not true.” And you provide no evidence. And just after you bash me for providing no evidence. That’s odd.... And if I were you I would research freedom of speech infringement a little more. Both on the US being the only place and the fire in a theater argument claim you make above. Both things you argue are wrong. The Supreme Court has also ruled on it. Interesting stuff. And saying fire in a crowded audience when there is no fire isn’t a freedom of speech issue. Speech that is dangerous and false is not protected, as opposed to speech that is dangerous but also true. “Freedoms of speech and press do not permit a State to forbid advocacy of the use of force or of law violation except where such advocacy is directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action.” This means that speech which supports law-breaking or violence is protected unless its purpose is to incite immediate criminal action or violence and it is likely to do so. Canada has sent I believe over 3000 people to jail for not using proper pronouns or what some ambiguous person in government considers hate speech. That isn’t freedom of speech. Comedians being sent to jail for jokes? Really that’s freedom of speech? New Zealand has limits in a similar way to Canada on their so called freedom of expression. Section 14 of the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act 1990 (BORA) – provides that everyone has the right to freedom of expression, including the right to seek, receive, and impart information and opinions of any kind. However, s5 of the BORA provides that freedom of speech is subject to limits. The BORA does not have supremacy over other legislation. Subject to section 4, the rights and freedoms contained in the BORA may be subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society. Hate speech isn’t a thing. It’s just speech. For a country to have freedom of speech there has to be a willingness to offend. There is not a freedom from offense. Some stuff above was taken from other sources. Look it up if you want. Not claiming the above is all my words.
