  1. @sonofabone don't be discouraged, things are changing in the Air Force with the 11F shortage: https://www.duffelblog.com/2017/02/fighter-pilot-shortage-results-in-recruitment-of-average-looking-uncool-people/
  2. 69 is the definitive magic number you want. I don't see how being a cyber officer will hurt your chances in any way other than if you're close to the age limit and don't have enough time to do all that before applying for UPT.
  3. I listed my speeding tickets, even though I probably didn't have to for MEPS.
  4. Just don't be forgetting anything with more than a $300 fine or that involved drugs/alcohol or else it's not significant for the TS clearance, judging from the instructions on the form.
  5. I don't think you need to disclose encounters with police unless you were arrested or convicted of a criminal offense. Refer to excerpt from form SF86 below, I doubt MEPS checks anywhere close to what a clearance investigator would. Similarly, for medical history, I wouldn't list any doc visits in which you weren't diagnosed with a condition or prescribed medication. And I don't mean the flu or cold medicine. "- In the past seven (7) years have you been issued a summons, citation, or ticket to appear in court in a criminal proceeding against you? (Do not check if all the citations involved traffic infractions where the fine was less than $300 and did not include alcohol or drugs) - In the past seven (7) years have you been arrested by any police officer, sheriff, marshal or any other type of law enforcement official? - In the past seven (7) years have you been charged, convicted, or sentenced of a crime in any court? (Include all qualifying charges convictions or sentences in any Federal, state, local, military, or non-U.S. court, even if previously listed on this form). - In the past seven (7) years have you been or are you currently on probation or parole? - Are you currently on trial or awaiting a trial on criminal charges?"
  6. pawnman and tk, do you proactively offer to write a draft when you first ask someone for a LOR? There's an tough conflict between staying humble and writing praise about yourself.
  7. Recording of today's John Glenn memorial service live stream.
  8. Not saying it's not a big deal or real condition, but it sounds like it's waiverable/fixable and you could have a successful career.
  9. Found this in a unisex/gender-tolerant bathroom in SF, it was a very safe space... LOL. Anyway, it's actually good advice. You're probably fine, I would just "ignore" it and eat/sleep/f.uck/exercise well. Going to the best pilot training program in the world to be a military aviator for the best Air Force in the world which is the best f.ucking thing there is to do in life should be good therapy for your problem. I know it's easy to just say to others, but sometimes issues like this are in your mind.
  10. I've been using LogTen Pro X for a couple years now and it's decent but the Foreflight one seems better. I'll probably switch to that after my subscription expires.
  11. Posting for 139th AW (C-130 out of St Joseph MO) went up on the jobs board today.
  12. Aspiring fighter pilot here. Can some of you experienced guys elaborate on the right attitude and outlook on flying to be successful as a fighter pilot? Has the "right stuff" changed from Tom Wolfe's definition?
  13. 152nd AW (Reno, NV) is holding C-130 UPT and CSO boards. Applications due mid-October.
  14. A few more board announcements went up recently on GuardReserveJobs for tankers and the E-8 at 157th ARW, 116th ACW, and 117 ARW.
  15. I heard a rumor that you could still do a waiver for the new ART requirement and it may become less mandatory.
  16. I haven't heard back from them.
  17. Definitely; I submitted quite a few tanker and airlift applications.
  18. UPT candidate here. Turned 28 recently and applying to as many Guard and Reserve units as possible seeing as I'm close to the age cutoff. Working on getting POCs from units that don't publicize pilot selection information. Anyone know if 192FW/Virginia or 154W/Hawaii are having boards this year or whom to talk to about either? Left a couple voicemails already. Thanks!
