  1. My 12 year old grandson saw it twice, once with his DAD, and again with me. That was a few weeks ago. Yesterday he wanted to debrief the F-14 fight with the Felons. Of course he had no idea what a Tomcat even was, so we debriefed with hands and drawings. He thought Hangman was super cool for saving Maverick and Rooster. Eight years from now a bunch of new UPT students are going to show because of this movie.
  2. I wonder if an F-15EX goes too an air to air unit will they fly it single seat? Or put a pissed off pilot in the back as they did in early days of the F-4 and F-111?
  3. That’s EWO to you squid! That’s the Ahole who got the plate I wanted!
  4. I also learned in a J-3. I would suggest starting new tail wheel students on a grass strip.
  5. A lot of the young CFIs might say 'and give up 10 years of seniority, with the risk of washing out of UPT. No thanks'?
  6. Obama owns two waterfront mansions. Biden owns one. The Bush family owns one. I bet Kerry owns one. All of them travel via Gulfstream. I’ll believe I have to give up fossil fuels when these people start living like climate change is real.
  7. I wonder if these CFIs will teach formation flying.

  9. That movie was made with the full support of the US Air Force and maximum participation of public affairs. It is a horrible embarrassment to our beloved service.

I think a software bug took out two cars on the last two laps.
  11. We voted for Biden. We are getting what we voted for. Good and hard. I Guarantee it
  12. +1 for counterpart
  13. In my experience TFL is the Golden Ticket for US health insurance. All major health systems take it, as do most individual practitioners. It is far more widely accepted than Tricare alone. Most things wind up being almost free, up to and including major surgery and almost all drugs. My wife was recently presided a rare brand name only drug that you can’t even get at a regular pharmacy. The doctor had to make a call, but it was approved. Retail price: $6800/month. TFL price: $30. Can retirees even use military hospitals any more?
  14. It’s been awhile, but my staff work was at least 85% classified, and a fair amount of that was TS/SCI. I did know a couple of guys in special access programs that had secure phones at home, is that done these days? Can classified work can be be done from home in today’s Air Force?n
  15. Do Guard non-fighter units ever send new guys to ENJJPT?

Driver61 actually read the FIA rules, and similar to aviation, it turns out that the race director can waive rules if he thinks it is in the best interest of racing. There is also a policy which discourages finishing races behind the safety car.
  17. Trump has been constantly anti-quagmire for years. It would have been shocking if he suddenly wanted a shooting war with Russia. Of course it is highly unlikely that Putin would be putting on this show if Trump was still President.
  18. Fully expect the Justice Department to bring civil rights violation charges against Kyle Rittenhouse in order to get a second bite at the Apple.
  19. Does the USAF still require cholera vaccine? IIRC that was every six months.
  20. Retired Squid Ward Carroll has a good discussion on the Scheller case.
  21. “there is a splinter of the Democratic party (but not all of them) who just bow to China ” Not to mention a certain member of the JCS.
  22. Had Snowden only released information about possibly illegal wiretapping then you might have an argument. Instead, he downloaded hundreds, possibly thousands of highly classified information on US sources and methods. Gifting them to Russia. Snowden is a traitor, he deserves to share a cell with Robert Hansen. For life.
