Zachbar I generally agree with you, but my main issue was that we even went down the road of attempting to fly with the obogs system off in the first place. While yes they tested ambient air, the number of flights and the fact they were with RND jets (that have thus far not had any occurrences) also skews any possible results. I am much more confident with the obogs inspections / repairs / TCTO's however. While it may not have found the smoking gun at least we have proper eyes on a system that was being flown to failure for no reason other than attempting to save a penny and now we have paid the dollar as a cost for losing our focus on the pennies. Also the briefing this morning was for UI's so you really should get back to chair flying because your fair/unsat is likely to follow ;D

RND is back up flying only aircraft with the TCTO's passed. 10-11 so far. I do know that any jets not passing those TCTO's will likely be turned down by aircrew even with the "duck call" work around. There is a reason all of the experience is dead set against flying with modifications and obogs off. How about we fix the damn system and force it. Perhaps the youngin's may start taking notes when they are not too busy working on OPR bullets and shining turds.

Oil Lines were "fixed" with essentially tape, and a bracket installed to avoid further chafing. I could be wrong on this but word was inventory only had two replacement hoses at time of occurrence. During preflight I would often see them taped up from hoses not replaced but had some chafing marks. ISS sequencing is still an issue, some tails have been fix'd however some tails also have been incorrectly labeled as fix'd but were found not to be upon further inspection on forms.

I commend your ability to alter your thoughts when presented evidence and greater understanding of the larger picture! - On that, Standby take some notes, no one cares about your internet bravery. Bringing up the fact that the Army is willing to fly under circumstances that are wrong doesn't make what T-6 nation is under going wrong. We have a lot of guys with a hell of a lot more hours and experience bringing up a number of concerns that leadership was never tracking in the first place. The willingness at the start to run with scissors initially was a major issue that had to get gut punched immediately. Once we stood down at least some cooler heads prevailed though we are still fighting against the PCL max types that don't understand the situation and only have sights for time line and using production as a retention tool.

All the T-6 SQ/CC have an extreme erection on this plan from what I hear and are 100% in support of it. Looks like we have the right crop of commanders to lead the next generation of Air Force... oh fml... If there is dissent from higher ups they are shut up effectively.
-
Choked out by obogs, kill obogs, choked out by ambient air (electrical fire) turn on obogs... Nope I see nothing wrong here. It's not like a chain of extremely unlikely circumstances ever aligns and ends in the death of... oh wait... FML.
-
I particularly enjoy the fact that they are 100% claiming cockpit air is good with a extreme small sample size, especially when you take in consideration the incident rate of the obogs issues. No one is reassured with a handful of flights that say its good to go. That article is worthless and the testing was pushed forward just for its release.

From what I understood IFS was changed back to an IFT program since even with the higher rate of washout in IFS we didn't see lower rates at UPT. Though I can't remember the source so probably just more of my B.S -

Soooo... seeing them post yet another Retention survey, is this a conspiracy to attempt and trick people into thinking they care by producing 6-9 surveys or is this simply individual PCS/change of commands that don't like the results of last one done under previous leadership and demand a new one? -

We've had ALPsters at Vance back in 2012, I know this as I flew / scheduled with them so not just CBM. -

I see zero problems with the AETC A3 Pilot Production ideas... none at all. -
there is excess iron at each T-6 location. Our limitation is IP's / Maintenance manning. Alliance would likely garner strong interest depending on compensation even if it can't compete with majors. The big question is will people trust that any such program would last long enough to bet on for their future and risk missing out on airline hiring.

Don't worry they are also trying to "suggest" aka force, more PA's in training as well. So lets eliminate Phase III, PA more of Phase II and when they show up to PIT do the same thing. I don't see a single problem with this at all... It's okay its like my PT test, when times are FAT I have to slam my chest on the ground to get a push up counted, but now that times are lean they count any motion I make no matter how slight. Training is being shaped to fill the body requirement, actual ability and skill level be damned. Also if your an IP don't even dare open your mouth unless you have "Data" to back it up because you know we all sit around collecting ing data points in addition to our additional duties, and primary duty. .... Yup winner winner.

The best reaction is often the most unacceptable... don't do or change a damned thing.

I didn't say WHICH commander =D.... my bad.

old STUS/CC at Vance AFB was offered a similar option when faced with graduation and wouldn't let a student provide a rose to her partner. He also caved. Woulda rather him get fired then would have saved us all from having to deal with him the year or two after...

Somewhat recently we went from Pucks to 100% TIMs, to Pseudo Pucks (depending on your flight) and now considering our TIMs issues (network totally gone to crap) we may be back to Pucks. Nice thing about old school, don't have to worry about network, windows 10 upgrades or other com crap...

Yes it is your right, and unfortunately I've seen good people get burned for exercising good judgement. Allowing waivers for crew rest at lower levels even when PIC is final authority weakens his ability to do so without possible reprisal in the form of poor feed back on OPRs for not being a "team player". Sure I've said no to many, but I've also had really good commanders 90% of the time that backed me up each time, I've seen many whom have not been so lucky. This is a bad idea, more rest is always better even when you request a waiver your probably better off going to the hotel that night. The only time I'd even entertain a waiver is if we were stuck in a less than ideal situation for crew rest and continuing on would set us up better in the long run, but that's rare.

Tell the general the truth and the answer is they done ed up and it's to late to fix it so enjoy your shit sandwich.
