They just cancelled the airshow at Laughlin AFB for this weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
-
Got it waived, just emailed the Assignments Team. They had it from my package. Word on the street is they might move it back to IFS, so I pulled the trigger.
-
See that’s what I think, but buddies at UPT who went to IFT recommend it like crazy. While they recommend it, they say that after a month in UPT everyone is on a level field. (I think they just liked the per diem to drive from Columbus)
-
I already popped off an email. If I didn’t have a conflicting schedule, I would prefer to go actually due to it being “training” now and not “screening”.
-
Yeah it’s more than two months out. Surprised they’re sending me with a PPL.
-
Got an MFS and IFT (have my PPL though) RIP today.
-
PSDM is out. There were 8 RPAs.
-
76 pilots (7 ENJJPT), 6 RPA, 15 CSO, 15 ABM.
-
Did you find out why it excluded you from UPT? Would you of been eligible for RPA?
-
That sounds super shady. In that same motion, would you still be bound to accept a job you didn’t want or be ineligible?
-
There has been some talk (at least at my wing) of waiting to tell members until officially releasing on the 7th. This is part of the new 7 day Commanders Advanced Assignment notice.
-
Looks like those original numbers kind of came close.
-
Got UPT!!
-
Maybe only rated guys found out. My wing says the results are with FSS but can’t release them.
-
When someone gets told, could they do the rest of us peons who have absent (TDY, leave, deployed, never met them, etc.) commanders a solid and tell us how the results look at least? Literally have no idea how anything is shaking out and I had a feeling they’d do this 7 day stuff.
-
Nothing about if the results are good or bad?
-
If that’s the case it makes me wonder how bad a package has to be for perfect scores and a PPL to not get selected lol
-
Not necessarily. Cheaper option (if you’re sure you don’t want your PPL) would be buying the rudder and joystick (you can buy the exact ones on the test) and work the piss out of them. You’re only looking for a 20 point swing so that’s not bad, crushing the TBAS will only help. Just make sure you study.
-
They are selected during their Junior year, slotting them to the next FY. And I meant I guess they were looking for a correlation.
-
What’s your AFSC? lol yeah, idk where the data was going when I stole it, AFROTC also has a 2 year lag so isn’t really current. I agree it could be good or bad for AD.
-
Huge pilot drop in AFROTC. (Stole this from someone, looking for a correlation?) 2018: 643 (?? AD) 2017: 466 (60 AD) 2016: 345 (15 AD) 2015: 381 (46 AD) 2014: 369 (51 AD)
-
So these numbers were something that came down through AFPC command via email chain to SQ commanders, just though everyone should have the same info lol I’d be interested to know how much/if they’ve changed. ABM and CSO were definitely lower than last year, but interestingly Pred said last year the RPA number definitely wouldn’t change.

Posted to AF Portal "Understand you all are anxious for the 2018 UFT results. We are seeking final approval from the AFPC/CC on up. Pushing for a 28Feb18 release. Standby for the release and please keep calls and emails on the matter to a minimum as we go through the proper channels of approval at this level. Should the PSDM not release by the end of the month, it will shortly thereafter. We greatly appreciate your patience on the matter."

So I have a package in with the AD Officer board and I really want to chase the manned pilot position but am not sure I can lock down pilot. If allowable, I would decline any other position and press for an ANG unit (wouldn't be eligible for AFRC). Guard has been becoming more and more appealing to me. I have a couple of questions: 1) Is it worth it to go for an instrument / multi rating? (I already have my PPL) 2) How much did your PCSM help in an interview? (99 PSCM, 98 Pilot) 3) I will be putting on 0-2 in June (2 of 4 yr commitment finished) and am curious how the timeline works going from AD to Guard. Can I even apply to current slots? How would it curtail to my current commitment? 4) How important art the visiting day's before an interview? I am OCONUS and it would be hard to make a weekend. Thanks!
