  1. Not an AWACS guy, but the wife was an ABM. They’d have been able to provide similar services as “Pyramid” used to, but they’d have had zero training or ability to control airfield ops. AFAIK, “Kingpin” was still operating as well, but I rotated home about a week prior to the end of the GIRoA.
  2. And now the Taliban is saying Afghans can no longer leave the country because it’s “not safe” for them at the airport.
  3. 452 on a C-130. I believe 800 on a C-17. https://www.littlerock.af.mil/News/Photos/igphoto/2001741050/
  4. J-Bad gone now too… https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-58219169
  5. Not sure if that misspelling was intentional or not, but that accurately describes the tweet! 🍻
  6. Sounds like Beechcraft needs to pump out an AF version of the T-44C. Beefy landing gear from the start and there goes half your longevity problems for a UPT airframe! But that’s not a jet, so clearly it won’t meet our training needs. 🤷🏼‍♂️
  7. Cool! In our community at least, women can fly while pregnant up to a certain trimester and sim until even later. I’m massively in favor of anything that helps folks be more comfortable and contribute to the mission! 🇺🇸
  8. Command and Conquer: Red Alert. Great game!
  9. That or Sen Robert C. Byrd... similar rep as a human too...
  10. Already taken by the 130th AW. https://www.goang.com/locations/west-virginia/yeager-air-national-guard-base.html
  11. Hang some Sargent Fletcher pods off of it, throw a few SATCOM antennas on top and now it could become a legit SOCOM asset... just sayin!
  12. Sounds like a standard local training line in the Duke City! Who’s up for some threat-pen over Meadow Lake and its population of pharmaceutical enthusiasts?!
  13. Peoria had been pushing hard a few years ago for the J conversion. Who knows though.
  14. Correct Huggy, steel toes are not approved for flight in the AF, and I think Navy required it only if you had ops on carrier flight decks. (It’s been a long long time since NAS Corpus Christi though!)
  15. I could eat... 50 eggs.
  16. Schools here in the “Land of Entrapment” are closed for the rest of the school year. Announcement
  17. Maybe we can come up with some ideas on here then? Spacers? I’ve seen it used in some sci-fi books. Sounded ok in that context. Is there anything that folks in AF Space Command referred to themselves as already?
  18. Welp... shit. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1054561 This is kinda how Red Storm Rising kicked off. Maybe we’ll get that movie after all!
  19. The Rescue of Streetcar 304 is a good one for Vietnam era CSAR.
  20. https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/iranian-commander-kept-secret-israeli-f-35-stealth-fighters-had-violated-iran-airspace Well, that’s interesting. Who knew all we needed was Russian radar codes?
  21. I haven’t heard anything, but I was able to access the AWC distance learning website. **shrug** Maybe it means something, maybe it doesn’t, who knows.
  22. Good to see the #FloridaMan search will continue to have strong input!
  23. Please let the ones headed to Kirtland know that they’ll be MC-J and not on the Chariot of Armageddon. They get trained exclusively at HRT if they’re headed that direction.
  24. I’d say your odds are pretty decent for 1 below. Ours went up blank with a “P” if leadership didn’t feel we had a chance, so if yours went up filled out and with a “DP” you’re not wrong in being “cautiously optimistic”. Plus, unless there’s a big shake-up (regime change, UIF, etc) before your IPZ package is submitted, you should still get a solid push in the zone as well.
