You forgot his "hotass girlfriend". You wouldn't know her though, she goes to another school... Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

From the little evidence we have so far, I'd guess there is room for improvement. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

Yeah, damn liberals and their...grocery stores? But you're right, I guess I should have given you more of a response. I'm really glad that your farming and hunting has given you such fulfillment. Seriously, it's awesome. But just because you like your way of life, doesn't mean everyone else would. And it definitely doesn't mean they are lesser men because they don't. I guarantee the vast majority of people on this board, conservative or liberal, old or young, don't live semi-isolated on 37 acres. Sorry those of us that live in cities and suburbs and dont grow or hunt most of our food are such a disappointment to you. But the ability to field dress a deer has nothing to do with the quality of a person or their "manliness". Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

1st female Air Force combat vet in run for congress

I completely agree that both of these examples seem to genuinely want the best for the country. Also, they both have positions and ideas I like and positions and ideas I disagree with. But unlike most of the people up there, I don't doubt they have the betterment of the country as their motivation. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app -
I don't think so. Rumor is the rich kid (marginal driver with anger issues) and Mick Schumacher will get the seats, but who knows. As for Stroll, I think he's a little bit better than the typical pay driver. He's not top tier, but he's far from the worst on the grid. Edit: Of course I say this and then he races like it's his first ever grand prix. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

This is a really interesting conversation. Especially from a societal influence on monogamy perspective. I'd add along with tax benefits, we've added so many other things that either require or are made significantly easier due to marriage. Things like getting insurance, visiting your significant other in the hospital, buying a house, etc. Hell, right now my wife couldn't even get on base with me if we weren't married. Even if there wasn't societal pressure, the government makes it almost a requirement for long term couples. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

But if the opposition to this is that "Marriage" is religious (particularly Christian for the sake of this conversation) and gay people should just have civil unions, then the opposition should just be against gay people. Aethiest shouldn't be able to use the word marriage. Muslims, Hindus, and people following other religions shouldn't be able to call it marriage either. But for some reason, people only insist on LGBT people calling it something else and not all those outside of the religion. Edit: I just want to make sure I'm clear. I think debating whether someone can or cannot get married is pretty wild and I'm glad everyone here seems to be on the same page of, it doesn't effect me, so why care. But I'd argue that from the perspective of the government, the word "Marriage" does not and should not have any religious connotations. If it did, people couldn't get certified to perform marriages online and judges/justices of the peace couldn't perform marriages. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

Green boots are still good. They're still issuing green boots at UPT bases with no idea when brown boots will come in. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

Give me V12s, refueling, and tires that can cause more multistop races. I'd love some variety in strategy. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

That's not far off. I had about 14 months in between my FC1 being approved and starting UPT. It feels like forever, but just keep the civilian job, save some money, and enjoy the free time before you're in the books. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

Shoot it Straight, Guard/Res Hopeful
N730 replied to TankerCrewChief20's topic in What Are My Chances?
My bad... definitely misread! Like I said, only a few units seem to really care about all your scores, but some do. I'd definitely prioritize the TBAS over AFOQT since you did awesome on the pilot. If you're wanting heavies, you may be fine, but for fighters, I'd try to bump it up. Good luck, and if you didn't use the flash cards to prep for the first part of the TBAS, look for those. No, I don't know him and I'm not going to continue interacting with the troll. It already derailed the thread and I apologise for that. I fell for his trolling again, which is on me. I fell for it a few months ago and should have realized it was the same guy. And he's trolling you too now, unless he got hired and fully trained within the last few months... At this point you have to be a troll. If you aren't, it's sad. And you really think of people with different views this way, you should reconsider this career field. Doesn't seem like you're the type to be able to look past politics and go to combat with a wingman you disagree with. I may disagree with a lot of the people on this forum, both on the left and right, but I'd never question their commitment to the country or willingness to pull the trigger to protect it. Well you'll be moving for flight school and then seasoning, and I don't know if her job is protected under USERRA (I'd look at the law and check). You don't have a choice about either of those things. You won't live where you are now for the two years of training. Then during seasoning, you have to be close enough to work every day. For heavies it's at least 2-3 months and for fighters seasoning orders are 2 years. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

Sounds like you didn't do great on the TBAS. Everything else looks good. (Edit: Removed since I misread the original post) I'd apply for a while, and if you aren't having any luck, consider retaking the TBAS. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app -

Gotta say, your outlook on Aviation as a career is a little off. Sure, shit like carona happens and people get laid off, but that's not every day. You can make significantly more as a pilot than as a Physician Assistant. But the job after the military probably shouldn't be your reasoning. A few things, guard/reserves, you can do both. Get picked up by a unit and go to PA school when you become a traditional reservist. It'll be super hard, but not impossible. But what it sounds like you might need to look into is going to medical school and becoming a Flight Doc. I don't know a TON about the job but it seems like it might blend your two interest pretty well. You won't be a pilot, from what you've said, it sounds like that might be your secondary goal anyway. Edit: also, from what a few Nurses in my OTS class said, apparently the AF prefers their PAs to have doctorates and not just masters. For whatever that's worth. Hard disagree. During the election there was a significant group of my coworkers who were convinced Trump would win the popular vote, but lose the election and they were already talking about the "serious conversations about the electoral college" we'd need to have. It just sucks we are reliant on the crooks up there to write and pass a law or Amendment that would take away their jobs. Major changes that benefit the people are sadly a thing of the past. We don't have enough (if any) high level politicians that view their jobs as service to the country. They are not willing to do something that will make their lives a good bit worse to greatly improve the country. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

Can't speak to the LinkedIn part. Might do better to call squadrons and ask to rush or of any of the pilots are willing to answer your questions. But I'd be applying as soon as you take the tests, mo need to wait for the 6 month recovery. The process is more than long enough to cover those 6 months. I went to my FC1 about 4 months after I was hired and and like 8 months after I submitted my application. Also wouldn't worry about the LORs. Content is what's important. My LORs were my instructor pilot, a friend of mine that's an O-3 and a retired O-5. Definitely no big wigs, but they all knew me and two of them could speak to my flying ability. The boss that knows your work ethic can write much better LOR than a retired colonel or 1 star that's a friend of your uncle's co-worker. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

Your PCSM and AFOQT only help get you a pilot slot in Active Duty. After that, your performance at UPT and the available aircraft (luck) when you graduate determine airframe. Number one guy gets his top choice of what I'd available and it continues like that all the way down the list. The only way to "guarantee" a specific airframe is through the guard/reserves. Focus on getting a pilot slot, kick ass at UPT, and the better you do, the more likely you are to get your desired airframe. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

If it's just once I wouldn't think it's a big deal. A buddy of mine got picked up for Active Duty and had admitted to smoking pot a multiple times. I thought I'd heard that as long as you'd used it less than like 200 times or something, you were in the clear. Don't lie. You'll be stuck with it your whole career. You'll have to lie on every SF-86 you do for your clearances too. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

I'd rather do the opposite with the fuel limit. Remove the fuel limit and bring back refueling. That alone would bring back so many more strategy options. That could make the race interesting. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app
