  1. Quoted For Truth. Great summary, and Flying cargo is preferable.
  2. But we don’t have that thing; not even close, and the horse we have should be out to pasture not riding into battle.
  3. You’d rather be stuck with five generations ago than two generations old, though, because the AF hasn’t appropriately defined a requirement and timeline to look at other options. Aside from the fact it’s rubbish we can’t procure one an already operating E-7 in less than five years…how is having E-7 worse than E-3? We always talk about divesting old, unrealiable, difficult and expensive to maintain platforms to invest in new capabilities; this ought to be a good opportunity.
  4. Copy. So if they could put an E-7 on the ramp in 6 months (because it’s already operational) to buy two years for full acquisition of something better that you’re alluding to: would that be an acceptable compromise?
  5. Yep, retirement move within a year and Separation move is 6 months.
  6. You’d think that since Brick started his service during WWII, he’d remember what happens when a megalomaniac in Europe invades another European nation, but maybe it’s the dementia.
  7. Inserting into a conflict? No. Supporting the country that has been invaded is different.
  8. If you don’t make the international rules, someone else will.
  9. Let’s be honest, you don’t.
  10. The National interest is not having aggressor countries walking into another one just because they feel like their empire was aggrieved thirty years ago. You know, the whole national sovereignty thing we’ve mostly held down since 1945.
  11. The average russian likely doesn’t give two shits about Ukraine. You’re way hyping up the importance to anyone not named Putin.
  12. Have they done a pro app review? As you’re aware, can catch errors one wouldn’t realize they had that could keep even the otherwise best applicant from getting a call.
  13. Cool, then supplying thousands of anti tank and anti aircraft weapons won’t be personal to the Russian people. Glad we agree.
  14. The Russians in MiGs killing Americans wasn’t personal? Edit to add: either way, this isn’t personal for the Russians…just one Russian.
  15. How worried were the Russians about inciting nuclear war while they were supplying, training, and equipping during Vietnam?
  16. 6-9 years ago in afgsc it was totally common to fly a night sortie, and then be scheduled for an early morning sim. majcom finally issued guidance a few years ago requiring 9.6 hours off after last duty before next even for office work because of commanders continually violating common sense. Edit: and we’re not talking they were doing this stupid turn time scheduling for some crazy real world op, just routine stuff.
  17. When I did my 73 training last year and the runaway stab quick reaction item was new to them, I was astounded. As referenced, the plain stab trim part of the system is nearly the same as both old Boeing products the AF flies and has had BF items for years to address.
  18. Predictable. Do you mean the international norm of invading a sovereign nation without cause?
  19. You pick some weird takes to apologize about Russia with.
  20. I haven’t seen any actual chemical weapon reports lately, but they de facto tried by hitting a storage facility for like 4 tons of nitric acid (totally nasty for people)…except the wind blew it back over the russian positions. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Although, they’ll probably just use it as the narrative that Ukrainians used chem weapons against them. 4-D chess.
  21. It’s because they cut absolutely everything out of the RPA pipeline.
  22. It also seems like each airline has gone to a crew scheduling “optimizer” in the last two years that squeezes any fun out of the lines/pairings.
  23. I mean with the inverse wind tunnel time allocation to constructor place, having mazespin was like tanking for a draft pick in a ball sport.
  24. Just picturing Jeremy Clarkson in a Lotus dodging a Brit Apache.
