  1. You didn’t have to mention Biden, it’s the only other (realistic) current option.
  2. Biden doesn't have any true character gain. The dude is a facade. He has no actual plan in mind, just words along the lines of "trust me, I have a plan." Also, I find that after 47 years he's really not done anything as a public official. Quit justifying Biden because he's "not Trump." Not being Trump doesn't make him good.
  3. And the next begins, where we start walking back our foreign policy gains on China, Russia, and Iran, but the POTUS appears "more coherent." It's all about trade offs.
  4. But still...as President what ACTION would Biden have done differently that would have had a real, substantial effect? Literally present a more coherent presence, is that it? Edit: because from listening to Biden...I don’t think he has any actionable plan apart from appearing to “listen to experts,” because what action that stems from Presidential powers would change what is currently happening?
  5. I don’t know, but I do think that a) from listening to Joe there is no further plan, just talk of “a plan” for Covid, b) the President no matter who right now cannot do anything to actually affect how Covid goes, and c) he’s not actually going to DO anything but then say “my plan worked because I listened to science and experts.” Trump would absolutely do the same regarding having done nothing of efficacy and claiming victory.
  6. Absolutely.
  7. Are you talking about mail in votes that don’t make the deadline with respect to counting after election day? Or ones that meet the state deadlines just happen to be after election day? I haven’t seen this discourse yet, but am interested because having mail-in voted for about 18 years, per state rules I’ve always had to mail it in by election day and have it be received within 10 days. Deadlines should be deadlines, but then again...I never push the timeline on this.
  8. I think he meant in the general, “from my taxpayer perspective” and not the “i wrote a blog that sold out” one.
  9. Devil’s advocate: you’re also not required to have a car with respect to the car insurance is mandatory aspect.
  10. Thought they pushed that shit back to 2021 or 2022 or something. Whatever.
  11. Yeah, I’d have to go with it’s the easiest weight-saving way to do it if you’re an engineer trying to stay under requirements who won’t have it exploding next to his cranium.
  12. Well developed in the sense that it works to make a car go around the track, but since it’s all narrow street circuits with relatively wide cars not very entertaining at all. Marbula E, though? Gold.
  13. Sure, Jan.
  14. The onus is on those making such a hypothesis to prove it. Stop acting like this is a religion based solely on belief.
  15. I read a bunch and know a decent amount about computer modeling; it’s how I’m skeptical of pinning everything on humans in the US with models trained on poor data while simultaneously giving a pass to China and India. Airplanes are pretty real; man-made global warming is an unprovable theory. You don’t have a control system to contrast against, and the current computer models are all recognizing humans as the cause because they’re incredibly limited. But you’re an arrogant troll only interested in your religion so no, this won’t matter. Edit: also, you should read the rational optimist by Matthew Ridley. Every time someone makes some grim global prediction, it works out. Stop freaking out and live your life.
  16. You don’t tow lines, you toe them; the hubris that humans are the only thing causing this and we understand it so certainly that it must be true is indeed antithetical to science. Check yourself.
  17. Copy, there are heretics, agnostics, and atheists at odds with your religion.
  18. Present evidence, not correlation based on models trained from data based only on industrial humans. You've presented no science whatsoever, just an emotional diatribe. That's not science.
  19. You know how when you train facial recognition AI with only people of one race, it can only detect reliably the people of that same race? All of these climate models developed off of limited data have the same problem; it’s trained off of high fidelity data from only a period with industrial humans. The historical data back to 800,000 years is highly based off of assumptions...that fit one hypothesis. You’re not using science, you’re practicing religion.
  20. It did make him an expert at skirting the constitution by trying to use executive powers only on a bunch of things, somehow gambling his party would never be out of power. Short term strategy, just like all the poor AF leaders. Also made him an expert at using emotions to convince people climate correlation is the same thing as causation. Lots of people on board with that one.
  21. Could be.
  22. I think the story of the debate is Joe got the same spray tan as Donnie.
  23. Derail inbound: https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/09/25/want-to-learn-how-the-pentagon-works-then-play-this-board-game/ This is probably a more useful education on national strategy than PME curricula.
