  1. Airliners are not to my knowledge flying with ipads that have ADSB In, at least not at one large legacy airline, so I fail to see how having ES on the Blackhawk would have helped in this instance. Edit: they’re also likely to be viewing the plate for the charted visual they were cleared and not an ipad moving map anyway (since TCAS is on their sit display), and then nuggets outside for the visual circle. But I digress.
  2. These articles about the Blackhawk not transmitting ADS-B (as if it didn’t have a transponder at all) are just click-bait for people who don’t understand that Mode C still exists as it did for years, and provides all the relevant squawk information for this scenario. Also there’s a 99.6% chance that anyone writing these articles (or having the conversation at the congressional level) could not tell you the difference between Mode S, ES, 1090, and 978 UAT. What GA sees on an ADSB In display would have been a glove save, potentially, but should be a separate discussion from the doom scrolling “Blackhawk wasn’t transmitting omg fr fr” bullshit.
  3. No, no, I’d like to try nation building in another desert wasteland.
  4. AETC: focus on GPS things, prepare for advanced avionics. Also AETC: we are decertifying your GPS. That was the last T-6 debacle I was aware of, equally confusing we couldn’t get it together enough to update the GPS when they stopped supporting updates to the KLN-69. It
  5. Brutal. We couldn’t even maintain these for 20 years?
  6. Hah, those bores I can put up with. My only two are no-personal-skill clowns swept in with the 2021-2023 hiring boom. I wonder who the company actually turned away.
  7. His biggest debate when getting his will written was whether to involve the Guinness Book of World Records or Ripley’s Believe It or Not.
  8. That’s the thing, Biff. Having to go through life espousing a platform like men believing they’re women being a totally normal thing is a war zone, haven’t you heard? All those C Model guys have been at war this whole time, we just didn’t hear their story.
  9. Cannot quote for truth enough. The dudes I fly with that want to make it more exciting…should fly something else outside of 121 world. Also have seen every variation of trying to make time like you mentioned, and the company’s inability to staff enough crews/assign gates and crews efficiently or some random taxi slowdown will thwart efforts to shave a few minutes 99.6% of the time.
  10. Agree. To the point that they get angry when you don’t accept the visual 36.9nm out because due to whatever conditions you can’t see the airport yet.
  11. Saw a report that it was at request of the family. Maybe to give time to notify someone taking longer than normal.

  14. It does, and feels like they called the wrong aircraft in sight. Twitter comments are typical social media “they called the airliner in sight, so they must have hit it intentionally.” Yeah, jabroni…that’s it.
  15. They claimed they did, but they “made AI at a lower cost” by apparently stealing a model and running it on Billions worth of Nvidia cards they said their model didn’t require (and they shouldn’t have had). Also I started following a whole twitter account that just tracks congressional trades and options. Wild amount of activity.
  16. If not being able to produce the product and meet quality targets doesn’t meet the criteria of a production problem, not sure what does. Seem to be doing ok with their graphics cards, though.
  17. Say it ain’t so. Guess NVIDIA will probably be alright after all…and that China is full of it.
  18. Edit: My mistake, yes TSMC is having trouble finding the staff for their Phoenix fab. Intel is also dumping tons of money into US fab facilities, but their quality control with existing fab right now is garbage and as referenced they got complacent and didn’t continue developing new processes 5-10 years ago.
  19. Taiwan isn’t China. Also, Intel’s fab work has been failing left and right lately, so you can’t trust their work.
  20. That’s some dumb shit, especially when Intel can’t get their act together.
