  1. I'll hazard a guess: "do more with less"
  2. My favorite: the forward deploying musician
  3. Also keep in mind that needlenose ned here is playing devil's advocate from a position of ignorance; he really doesn't know what he's talking about.
  4. Based on your vast experience in the military, I assume.
  5. You're derailing, that isn't the dilemma in this thread. The dilemma is "do I take a chance catching my dream in UPT with a reserve unit, or take the rpa slot on ad." If his dream is flying, he should fly.
  6. Hah, true. I find it interesting seeing the opinion from a Russian (although he certainly has maintained his opposition to Putin for a while), and getting to voice an opinion that wouldn't be allowed to air there. This one actually gives some insight into how the state media spun the recent UN visit. Kasparov's follow up: Kasparov Putin Takes a Victory Lap While Obama Watches.pdf Still strong wording: Kasparov Putin Takes a Victory Lap While Obama Watches.pdf
  7. I'm not exactly sure what "full capacity" is in the Army world, but since the combatant commander demands of AF ISR keep increasing, it's impossible to fulfill the crew requirements. Training an enlisted aviator to the same standard of execution won't take any less time, and once they're trained they're more difficult to retain (see lack of sensor operator retention). It's not the magic people think it is.
  8. The real problem is retaining trained people, and this move wouldn't help that.
  9. If their goal is to try driving the west to bankruptcy and chaos through the refugees generated by the Syrian unrest, they're exceeding expectations.
  10. Well they made it through the ORM Fundamentals CBT that's impossible to skip through without going on a suicide bombing trip, and that's probably about as good as you're going to get.
  11. And that doesn't include the hacking code to get DTS Java to run on an Air Force computer. Ninja level.
  12. Since the Marines aren't hell-bent on CBTs...
  13. Maybe we can get Stephen Breyer to weigh in on how foreign uniform regulations effect the interpretation of the AFI.
  14. I'm not overly familiar with the document, but is 8.8 the section on FDU? If that's the case, I'd ignore the part in 6.469 that doesn't deal with the FDU. Technique only. And my eyes are burning now.
  15. Everyone knows officers don't get promoted on merit .
  16. I guess that makes band skill levels inflated if you go straight from 0 to 7. Kind of like the firewall 5s we just tried to eradicate. Oprah's back! You get a 7, and you get a 7, and you get a 7! Everyone gets a 7 level.
  17. Commentary from a recent WSJ The Rewards of the Obama Doctrine: Offering a helping hand to America's enemies in Iran, Russia, and Cuba will ruin lives and many more will die The Rewards of the Obama Doctrine - WSJ.pdf Mr. Kasparov feels fairly strongly against the power vacuum he perceives our current foreign policy is creating.
