  1. Their logic about the A-10 not being survivable in contested CAS environments is pretty flawed if they're proposing that UAVs are (which is what I'm reading out of the fact that we should keep them instead).
  2. Looking at the historical data should show that drops are unpredictable, and, like Brabus said, figure out what you want to do and go for it.
  3. Was the EFMP acceptable solution stationed at Laughlin with care in San Antonio? In that case, EFMP isn't working.
  4. This is pretty much what The Atlantic article said was most likely: it will fall apart from within. Hopefully it continues.
  5. Did I miss a trinity circus while I was in the vault today?
  6. It's three persons, one nut sts.
  7. Beats being grounded because you didn't do so hot on your algebra test.
  8. There are definitely ones in there with 12 and 15 year sentences. Either way, different charges have different sentencing specifications. It's tough to critique when you don't know all of the details.
  9. Notable & Quotable https://www.wsj.com/articles/notable-quotable-1424391757 Regarding the restraining order against an Oregonian college student for looking like a woman's attacker
  10. Thanks; I hadn't seen anything about it yet. This just in: the F-35 won't be able to use light sabers until at least 2025.
  11. But first, question: are other platforms carrying this block of SDB yet, or is this sensationalism?
  12. AMC...taking the fun out of everything.
  13. The L Mav (laser guided, big improvement on the E) is relatively new. A-10s were considering them for moving targets when strafe was inappropriate last I heard, since they don't carry the G54.
  14. If so, plenty of PLFs in a rock pit.
  15. Is the one Fairchild day the Emergency Parachute training or whatever? Usually done at the same time as your SERE course, but since you didn't need it then, may be having to return now. Spokane's not bad.
  16. Ditto. Made the required input, did not get desired February result. Maybe next time.
  17. Thought this was the WTF thread for a second.
  18. Woman Fatally Shoots Herself After Adjusting Gun in Bra Holster
  19. It'd probably be cancelled out by how many people opt to separate after their commitment despite getting promoted anyway.
  20. Golden. Unfortunately there was one opponent Boyd didn't build his OODA loop to defeat: the USAF. They've expanded further upon that 8-step defeat of the OODA loop's purpose. There are now 8 steps with 8 sub-steps which each have 3 processes. No wonder we develop leaders that can't make decisions; they never reach the end of the AF risk-averse decision process.
  21. There are only so many healthcare professionals to lend to 3d world countries in the US military. We have assets for logistics, presence, and fighting. Did they want us to shoot a virus?
  22. It was Observe Obstruct Defer Standfast, right?
  23. It must, because that's how we're also fixing the missile career field. Clearly we wouldn't do it if it was flawed. Money doesn't make up for years straight of shift work with no draw down in tempo.
  24. EW aircraft are part of a synergistic approach in more than one level of contest. And isn't "missiles will take care of everything" the same stupid argument they made with the Phantom? Did they not watch Top Gun?!
  25. Bingo. If not, he definitely hated Creech.
