  1. "Engineers of Victory: The Problem Solvers Who Turned the Tide in the Second World War" by Paul Kennedy Details how several technology advancements (cavity magnetron, P-51, etc) allowed strategic success. It's pretty balanced as far as not saying the Allies won solely because of technology, but recognizes how it was developed and how it contributed.
  2. XL was still using one as of December 2013.
  3. You can't fix the glitch if there's nothing wrong, and clearly AFPC policies are flawless. Act surprised, deny, deny, deny, counter accuse.
  4. If you're reading what that guy wrote, there's a good chance he has no idea what he's talking about, aside from the fact it was incoherent.
  5. Bad analogy. The EU is not a sovereign nation. The US is. England and Germany are not states of the EU in the same sense a Michigan and Rhode Island are of the US in the least.
  6. But it's not what you said. You said there should be no restrictions and an absolutely open border, i.e. no control.
  7. I think you like how your idea sounds. I hardly think you would like the reality of your idea.
  8. Are you assessing what you're saying? You want to let so many people into the US that living conditions are worse here than where they originated so that they will then leave? You would like it to be worse to live in the United States than Uganda, Haiti, Venezuela, Russia, Georgia, Romania, or [insert any other country here]?
  9. The better strategic position might be opting for the capability of carrying both.
  10. There's a good chance he was referring to the AGM-86B ALCM. The AGM-158 is not an AGM86B. B-1s aren't carrying the AGM-86B.
  11. Deadly 11, Maddog
  12. I'd go with WhatsApp over groupme. Groupme is annoying.
  13. So not in any way caused by the U-2, but instead by the FAA's crappy computer system... glad that won't get cleared up and will probably be some ammo to stoke the fight to kill the U-2. "It shuts down our ATC!"
  14. WSJ Opinion by Michael Auslin
  15. yeah...no We may have a system designed like that, but the whole of it is not applied as designed.
  16. That's a pretty solid WTF.
  17. Their mission sounds like more than protect to me, but either way you can protect by completely clamping down on your network and making it unusable. It just doesn't benefit anyone. Agree on the iPads only connecting to stand-alone computers.
  18. Those guys are just REALLY improving our computer capabilities.
  19. Sounds like the MAF standard shitty attitude towards the Q3 as a tool to document/ruthlessly punish the smallest of deviations.
  20. Interesting.
  21. I talked to a major (non flyer) from HAF A1 who thought that our squadrons were manned so that pilots could show up, fly, and go home, no additional duties. Not quite.
