Guard/Reserve timeline to UPT
Squawk7600 replied to a topic in Air National Guard / Air Force Reserves
I can finally finish my timeline . AFOQT/TBAS May 2019 Interview September 2019 Selected October 2019 Swore Into the Unit November 2019 FC1 January 2020 Re-Commissioned May 2020 UPT September 22, 2020 Start to finish, once selected right at a year. The virus postponed my UPT dates some but still squeaked in. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app -
Flew with the two piece for 10 years with the Army. They absolutely suck ! The one piece is like a pair of pajamas, compared to the two piece. Besides all y’all complaining about it’s hot .... try flying with no AC with plates and full gear . The one piece is amazing . Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

I was a prior Army hawk driver , I got picked up for C17s. It is pretty quick but you have to stay on them. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app -

Hired: Sept 19 Swore in : 8 Nov 19 FC1: Jan 20 FC1: stamped approved 24 Feb 20 Packet sent to NGB: 7 Mar 20 Just need some UPT dates[emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app -
UH60 guy here , I’ve been guard my entire career . I wouldn’t say fixed wing is off the table . I was recently selected by a heavy unit to go back to UPT and transition eventually into the C-17. Actually a good many guys have made the jump and are fixed wing now. As far as active to active , I’m not really sure most of the guys who have done it I know are guard or reserve going guard or reserve . I’m sure someone will chime in with first hand knowledge on the road you have to take . Regardless be patient and persistent . Go knock out the AFOQT and TBAS as soon as possible if you already have not done so . Good luck ! Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

I’ve found putting it on night mode and adjusting the brightness to a comfortable setting works. I can fly with no issues with it on . Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

Years ago the army had a program for the guard guys and gals to go instruct a Ft. Rucker on AD orders. Worked pretty well to fill the gaps . I’m sure some young ANG guys and gals might would bite . Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

Is it possible for an ANG candidate to get selected in September 2019 and get into a FY 2020 training slot ? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

This is true, I got college paid for so that was a plus that came out of that I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

That was my issue, I had to take it literally within 2 days to make a deadline. The window of 180 takes me into November and then into next years boards and I’ll be to old. This specific unit doesn’t do waivers really. Basically crossing my fingers that this years board needs to fill a good many seats with not a ton of applicants. I guess my only hope is my flight experience can carry some weight. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

Army pilot , previously commissioned but reverted from a 1st Lt. to a W01 in 2013 and now a CW2. Applied to a heavy unit . Found out the deadline was near and had to take the AFOQT ASAP to get scores back in time. Hopefully my scores will not affect the boards decisions, generally just seeing if anyone thinks I’m wasting my time . I currently have no service obligation at all. Older guy at 31 now. 3900 hrs TT Over 2000 PIC ATP certificate holder , fly part 135 /Single pilot IFR as a captain for an air medical company . 4 year degree 3.2 gpa many moons ago . Major : Aviation. Minor: Military Science No PCSM or TBAS , packet did not require it to apply. AFOQT: 60 pilot, 30 nav, 42 verbal, 20 Quantitative I felt extremely dumb after taking the test , I did not realize how much math from college I had forgotten [emoji51] My Situation is I’m not getting any younger. Should I retest and hope I’m picked up before I’m too ancient or let it ride ? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

Saw on another post in Base ops , where a guy had a decent amount of flight time and someone replied that would probably hurt him due to the fact It’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks . Well I have an ATP with 3900 hrs , think the Air Guard is still interested ? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

Low Quantitative score....checked that box but hey it was good enough to pass. Haven’t done any math like that since college 10 years ago and didn’t study due to I had to take the test ASAP to get my scores back in time to apply before the deadline. I have no clue what my PCSM score would be , I currently hold an ATP with 3,900 hours.
