  1. This is true for washing out, however, ANG/AFRC fighter guys who don’t do well in T-6s have been given the option to track T-1s and find a new unit to sponsor them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Maybe his exploits volunteered him for a FAIP tour instead of what he dropped. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Did I say anything to that effect? The post I replied to asked about continuing to fly the T-6 while doing T-1 sims. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Question 1: Yes, but I believe it’s closer to 3 months. 2: No, the rust from not actually flying isn’t going to be much of an issue as your follow-on aircraft is going to be vastly different than the T-6, unless you FAIP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. If TSP is treated like a 401k for contribution purposes, would maxing in it the year I retire have negative implications for my company contributions at an airline? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. FedEx is overmanned given their jet retirements. Spirit is only pausing its hiring for the winter season and JetBlue merger. My personal take is that FedEx is subcontracting with cargo carriers like Atlas/Omni/Kalitta given their reduced DOD workload. If they get busy again I expect FedEX to stop shrinking. 7. He just needed to rehack his dissimilar form currency. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I’m guessing the response was automated or written by someone who isn’t up to speed on the program. Once you’re within 6 months of availability, you’re no longer eligible for the UMPP and have to submit a traditional app. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. They did it before with UPT Next at Austin. This will be 2.5 studs going straight to heavy FTUs in lieu of track select. Next was handpicked studs with experienced IPs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. They’re about to start T-6 straight to FTU trial groups. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Aviation enthusiast? Your name makes you sound like getting pegged is your enthusiasm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Please ban this f*ck already. He’s been funny enough, but I worry actual GOs read his shit and think it’s serious, not satire. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. It’s 20% back, up to $2000. I don’t think racking up $10000 for personal interest courses to get $2000 back is a great idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Did you make O-5? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Still sim only for T-1s? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. General Chang is a real account, and has stars on his shoulders. He is a personnelist. Bashi Chuni is Chang’s troll account where he pretends to be a pilot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. My understanding was IRR commitment only goes to 8 years from date of accession. Shouldn’t matter for any pilots, since you’re past that before your UPT commitment is up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Just looked at mine. In 8+ years of flying C-17s, the most I was gone was 220 (deployment with COVID quarantine on the front). One year was 188 (non-flying deployment). Two years around 150 (120 day deployment). One year at 110 (90 day deployment). The other three years were <90. Not an Airdropper, SOLL II, or PNAF and my friends that were flew less. The only guy I knew who had more than 280 took a CAOC tour then a EAS deployment to chase his short tour credit (his choice). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Ask them to print out their TDY history. They are exaggerating greatly. Or the scheduler was banging their wife. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Where did you hear this? FAIPs? I never came anywhere near 280 days/year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. That makes total Air Force sense. The PCS expense is a sunk cost that will be paid out eventually. Denying Sep or retirement just results in more expenditure when you force someone to stay on the payroll. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. The Air Force forgets that to get those pilot wings in the first place you had to be in the top 69% (I’m sure the actual number is higher) of your ROTC class (or get into the Academy, or however OTS works). Bottom 1% of the 69th percentile is still the 69th percentile. When I got passed over for O-5 I was pissed but shrugged it off. I had figured I was a coin toss to make it. When I saw the list and saw some of my more deserving friends missing from it, I realized the whole system is fvcked. The Air Force does not value its pilots; Welsh and Goldfein made that much clear, and CQ has done nothing to reverse course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I must have missed it, what’s the 1 Apr thing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Now if only they would offer VSP and TERA… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
