  1. 2 years almost to the day since the Vance T-38 crash in 2019. 🥃
  2. Any current info on the application process, or where to find it? Currently first assignment C-5 and interested. Know next to nothing about applying.
  3. There's nothing currently happening that's "reducing reliance" on the T-1. If anything they're increasing reliance. New syllabi just dropped for 2.5 grads and a XPW (T-1 only UPT) syllabus. I've heard 2025 as a rumor too but the T-1 squadrons are definetly not winding down. Only step I've seen is they're not taking T-1 FAIPs any more at Vance. Side note to quash rumors: the new T-1 syllabi have plenty of flying in them. Definitely less than the old syllabus but the whole "all simulator and 2 flights" rumor isn't true.
  4. Going to be leaving AETC and going to the real operational Air Force this year, and was wondering how difficult it is to take leave with constant missions. Especially in AMC where crews seem to be gone more than they're home. How difficult is it to grab a couple days of leave? A whole week? Does it routinely get canceled last minute for a mission? What if it's something I can forecast months in advance, does that help? Are any bases/MAJCOMs/airframes notoriously good or bad for this? Things like a wedding/honeymoon are on the horizon for me, and just looking for general info. Thanks in advance.
  5. UPT student here just trying to learn how this all works. Going from AD pilot to guard/reserve, how much does my airframe on active duty matter to a guard/reserve unit? Examples: could a C17 guy get into an F16 unit? HH60 guy into a C5 unit? F22 guy into a C130 unit? Any relevant information is welcome, obviously a newbie with some curiosity.
