Anyone know if unmarried captains will be required to stay in the dorms at the UPT bases? I'm not trying to send my four legged beast to live with my folks for a year lol.

Has anyone received TDY orders to MFS yet? If so did you also see training populate in your CDB? While I am MFS complete, I'm betting that there are assignments contingent upon how quickly folks are getting those approved. I'm also struggling to understand the delay in assignments when the decision to send folks to UPT was made back in November. Anyone in here have experience that can breakdown what happens between the board to results and results to assignment drops? Specifically how some of us receive assignments in what seems to be a short time and others not so much. More or less ready to have an idea what the future holds so I can figure out to do with my house, pets and family lol.

ERAU Prescott is a complete joke. They can’t even get their students through flight line training. My brother has been academics complete for a year now but can’t graduate because the flight line is so backed up.

IFT is dead, you are going to to IPT.

I'm also MFS complete, nothing populated in my CDB. This wait is worse than waiting for the results.

Anyone have gouge on RIPs getting cut? I know the email said end of February but am trying to get a realistic timeline - currently slated to deploy in April but obviously UFT takes priority. Also, with IPT coming on board are we expecting to be on TDY from our current station or to PCS to our UPT base and then TDY out from there? Wondering if it's similar to the old URT that had us PCS to our gaining squadron and then TDY out for all of our training. If it is I'm betting it's not going to save the Air Force any money - that per diem and mileage expense adds up.

Dude, I’m really hoping I don’t have to learn another aircraft and all its systems to only fly it in the SIM. That was my biggest complaint of RIQ lol.

So you’re going to get a validation of your IFC1. Your IFC1 is stamped “pending certification” or something along those lines. You’ll do about a days worth of medical screening and a psych test either at the end of that day or the next. check the link at the bottom of this for further breakdown. It can be stressful but don’t be afraid to standup for yourself. Don’t get DQ’d for a clerical error that’s made there. https://www.afrl.af.mil/711HPW/USAFSAM/FE/FCI/

Saw something about someone being on the VML in here while also awaiting for UPT results. I’m in a similar boat - on the VML with three bids and a deployment coming up in April taking a lead LNO position. Leadership at my squadron isn’t too worried about all of it. Essentially told me that they’ll work with AFPC to make everything make sense. I’d really like to go on my deployment so I’m the off chance I get picked up I’m semi-worried that it’ll get pulled and I won’t be able to work something out.

It's definitely frustrating seeing how low some of the PCSM score are. Hell, when I was at Doss (RPA) there were manned pilot selects there with low 20s - stung a little bit at first. End of the day its entirely out of our control and not worth the effort to worry about - the Air Force is gonna do what they want either way.

Similar to what QUAG was saying, it's not uncommon for MQ-9 guys to escape to UPT. They are definitely hesitant but if you look at the results from previous years its totally doable. We are plussed up on numbers as well. The Air Force also has to play the balance game of retaining talent and pushing them to cross training opportunities. My old Chief Pilot here got out after being denied from UPT. Took his talents to the Airlines and used his GI Bill for ratings. Its a tricky balancing act especially with a 6 year ADSC career. We'll see what the board has in store for us "Magic Flying Robot" guys/gals.

Scores as follows: Pilot: 84 // CSO: 75 // ABM: 75 // AA: 34 // Verbal: 42 // Quantitative: 29 // PCSM: 84 I didn't retake anything for this board. I was swamped with LNO, Red Flag, Fleet Synthetic Training for the Navy and now Freedom Flag - been going non-stop since January of '24. I have a "wild take" that I'm a rated officer and a PIC, if the board wants to say that I'm not qual'd for UPT off my PCSM/ AFOQT then so be it. The PCSM is supposed to tell the board if we can pass flight training - with our aeronautical ratings we've already demonstrated that. Cheers, Otter

Based on last year's board and how long it took to get the budget approved I'm betting on no earlier than 31 JAN 2025. Similar situation for my OTS board back in 2019. Classic hurry up and wait game. I was an alternate last year and I'm holding out some hope that this year works out. Little background, 1000 hour MQ-9 IP w/ an LNO deployment, annual award, and a few quarterly awards. Regardless of results, don't let comparison be the thief of joy. My alternate slot last year had me very bitter for the better part of the spring. End of the day, the board has there specific instructions for each year and they will not disclose those nor will they give you feedback on what made you a select, non-select, or alternate. Sucks given the emphasis on feedback for everything that we do day to day - oh well. Best advice is don't worry about the things you can't control. Best of luck to all. Cheers, Otter
