I've never seen a SrA that was interested in taking action investing in any manner. One SrA who drove a Mustang told me "why are you watching the stock market channel that's for old people". This was shortly before I made enough in a trade to buy his Mustang several times over. Got really frustrated because I'd buy books and home study programs (one was a stock training program worth $3k) for people that could help them and they NEVER FOLLOWED THROUGH. Source: I'm a SrA. I talk to a lot of people about investments, so far the only person I've had a decent, educated converstaion with was one of my squadron commanders, which was a weird conversation because he was a Major and I was a SrA. Everyone else was too busy lifting their F-250's, buying Camaros/Mustangs, and making fun of my economic car while I saved money to build a business to run before/after I got off AD. Have fun being $30k millionaires.

Had something similar happen during a CoC outdoors, except this was at a sub-tropical base in the morning sunlight. Almost none of the Airmen (including myself) knew the old CC or the new one, and didn't care about the new CC's personal life story. Realized if I'm ever in the position that I should keep it short, sweet, and focused more on what changes the Airmen may directly see than go on about my own accomplishments and my wife and dog and awesome college experience and how far I've come and how great everyone in the squadron pretends to be when I'm around.

I disagree. A shocking slideshow will get you thinking about things differently, especially with your mirror neurons firing off at the sight of massive trauma. Never got a Barney Fife-esque (had to Google that reference) slideshow at FTAC. All we did was go through a really dumbed down Myers-Briggs exercise so the SF kids could understand. TBH Big Blue already treats us in High School-esque ways, so a shocking slideshow isn't much of a strech.

Noted. But the dividend yield may make it worth it, and at my pre-SNAP age the risk is negiligble. Also, in ARR's case, it looks undervalued, but I'd have to do my fancy fundamental analysis of their holdings. I'll be sure to invest in the securities before I pump them up to you guys.

Emphasis added. I was under the impression that a bunch of guys were leaving giving new ones an opportunity to replace them. I didn't know the actual positions were being cut as well. Anyway, at this point in my career the most I can do is monitor the situation and do well in college. Now that I know that there may be an issue with there not being as many experienced guys to mentor me effectively, what's stopping me from reaching out to those who are out and grabbing a beer with them? I'm sure they'll be able to tell me certain things that someone still in wouldn't be able to...

https://www.cnn.com/2014/04/30/us/severe-weather/ Thought this article was written very... creatively. Author must have been a creative writing major that couldn't find meaningful employment.

I would never do such a thing, but the B-52 on the fake flightline was a popular place to hook up. From what I heard. I don't even know what a B-52 looks like. Or anything about the escape hatches.

It's marketing and that color coding mood evoking stuff. You know, like how the color red stimulates hunger and passion and whatnot. The orange symbolizes action, and the blue symbolizes adventure.

This. Had to keep the hair longer so I wouldn't get immediately categorized as "military" by the local female population and all the fun things that come with that stereotype.

At the Sheppard golf course late at night with a female. Both of us were in tech school so you can guess where things were going when all of a sudden SF man steps out of the shadows like 006 in Goldeneye, NVGs in hand and a smirk on his face. His buddy rolls up in his car and they have a chat with us. Cockblocked by SF but got to see through NVGs for the first time in my life, pretty cool.

How does one make a SAPR-related obstacle course?

I'm Russian/Ukrainian and I read it Russian before realizing there was a translation... Anyway is there any more detailed documentation on this event? I know "MiG Pilot" talks about the Russian dude that defected and landed in Japan, but there's nothing I can find that's substantial about the Cuban guy that landed in Homestead. Speaking of defectors, are there any interesting book about ANY pilot defectors over the past few years besides "MiG Pilot"? I enjoy reading about their frustrations and the events that led up to the defection.

Are there any books about the Cuban MiG pilot that defected and landed at Homestead? Apparently that guy hijacked an airliner and flew back to Cuba a few years later...

Narragansett. Asked for the shittiest non-PBR beer they had at this hipster cafe near the college I'm trying to attend. I got what I asked for. At least it helps me pregame before sorority chicks at the spot next door. Maybe one of them will be lucky number notch 13. It'll make me feel better for attending the local community college for my last few classes required to transfer to big bad university with glorious AFROTC. Might not get a pilot slot due to crappy grades stemming from chasing too many chicks in college. Prior AD makes you appreciate college one thousand percent more. Gotta earn dat slot though. Edited to say more clever crap to impress you guys with.

YGTBSM Academics write academic paper on time travellers on Twitter. Are we paying these assholes with tax money? https://www.dailydot.com/lifestyle/time-travelers-search-academic-paper/

Many of you are eligible for a VA Loan; you can pick up a very nice 4-plex that cash flows very well, for nothing down. You need to do your due diligence beforehand though, and be willing to live in the property until you PCS out since the loan requires you to be an owner-occupant. When you retire or PCS out, the fourplex will be a nice little passive income generator. Other people will be paying off the building for you, as well as putting cash in your pocket every month. In this case the only potential negative is that you might have to to live in a property in a rental neighborhood, depending on where the fourplex is. This can be applied to a house (not as well in many cases though), duplex, and triplex as well. Anything that is five units or more is considered commercial real estate. Many times you will get PAID to live in the property, if you get a good deal. So you pocket BAH AND get a little bit extra from the property. The only thing is that you need to invest some time educating yourself. The tax advantages are also excellent; depreciation, writing off expenses, etc. can be substantial. This can also be a great option to pay for a child's college tuition. OR, if you meet me a few years from now you can just put some money into an investment pool at a competitive interest rate while I buy commercial buildings :)

I can only ask those on UPT/Guard/Reserve/OTS boards to not associate me with this due to my age... And what the hell is with the prominence of open mouths in the photos? Are they trying to convey "awesomeness" and "fun"? Seems like a bunch of mouth breathers to me... every time I have fun I don't open my mouth like some cartoon character...
