I don’t understand some active duty senior leadership’s disdain for the guard/reserves. Most mission sets don’t happen without them and ultimately a guard v reserve v AD crew/package provides the same effect in combat. At that point, said disdain just shows how deep rooted the self licking bureaucracy ice cream cone is.

I’ve seen masks come back and forth 6-9 times at CONUS bases since Covid started. Utter clown show. At an unnamed base in Texas, there was a policy that you couldn’t go TDY if you weren’t boosted. That quickly got squashed. As for the airline mask mandate, TSA works for Biden, most of his supporters are huge fans of mask mandates. In some weird way many feel that they are doing some philanthropic good by forcing everyone to wear the cloth on the plane and public places. It wasn’t till I became an evaluator in AMC did I realize how common it is for OGs to be in the Sq CC and DO’s chili with things like evaluations and upgrades. Constantly overriding the Sq CC’s decisions on things like Q3s and discipline.
