Can anybody answer if you can carry the 75 days through 2013? Just wondering b/c I currently have 75.5 days of leave and with the summer TDY cycle starting up, I will lose those 15 days if I don't start taking them now!

If you like the Marvel comic's then you would like "Thor". Just make sure you stay through the entire end of the credits b/c there is a sneak peak to the upcoming movie "The Avengers".

From a Major I deployed to Iraq with in 2003: "You know, if we join up and share a shower, we can take a 10 minute shower!!! Just think about it..."

This right here is full of failures! First, allowing the CGOC to have a meeting in the bar. Second, tainting the bar with the CGOC meeting right before a roll call. Third, just mentioning CGOC, bar and roll call in the same sentence.

Any motorcycle that runs well and is in decent shape is a good deal for less than $1500 but a Hyosung GT250r are pretty small bikes. So, in my opinion, if you are any bigger than about 6'0'' and 200 lbs, you are almost too big for that bike.

I bought my bike in 2003 and have PCS'd (changed addresses) 4 times since then and I still have my bike insurance through USAA. Maybe I'm just one of the lucky few.

They still insure motorcyles if you had them before they stopped - so I was able to keep my bike insured with USAA.

I have continued riding since the accident and still find it just as fun as before. The only difference now though is that I pay more attention to others around me.

Sturgis 2010, an elderly couple decided to come to a complete stop in the fast lane driving north towards Rapid City to make an illegal u-turn. Well, b/c of this, I had to lock up my brakes on my bike but with only 2 brakes, wasn't stopping and had to lay the bike down just down the left side of their car. I was going about 35 mph and skidded on my left arm and back for about 30-40 feet. At the end of it all, I was laying flat on my back, my wife was laying on top of me, my bike was laying across my legs and the couple that caused it to begin with left the sceen of the accident. I spent 8 hours in the ER and my wife spent about 5 hours in the ER. Still today I have pain in my left elbow and every now and then another pebble/piece of road will work its way to the top of my skin and fall out. As for experience; I have been riding since 5 years old, went through the military motorcycle safety course, went through a state motorcycle safety course and was the squadron motorcycle safety rep. Needless to say, we were very lucky that all we had was roadrash and a beat up HD and nothing more.

I got this in an email from my uncle recently, don't know if it is true and really don't care b/c it is funny! AN ACTUAL CRAIG'S LIST PERSONALS AD To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last. Date: 2010-09-27, 1:43 a.m. E.S.T. I was the guy wearing the black Burberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled the knife on me and my girlfriend, threatening our lives. You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings. I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message. First, I'd like to apologize for your embarrassment; I didn't expect you to actually crap in your pants when I drew my pistol after you took my jacket.. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing the jacket for a reason.. my girlfriend was happy that I just returned safely from my 2nd tour as a Combat Marine in Afghanistan.. She had just bought me that Kimber Custom Model 1911 .45 ACP pistol for my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very evening. Obviously you agree that it is a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your head ... isn't it?! I know it probably wasn't fun walking back to wherever you'd come from with that brown sludge in your pants. I'm sure it was even worse walking bare-footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with me. [That prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come help mug us again]. After I called your mother or "Momma" as you had her listed in your cell, I explained the entire episode of what you'd done. Then I went and filled up my gas tank as well as those of four other people in the gas station, -- on your credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 153 gallons and was extremely grateful! I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go's, along with all the cash in your wallet. [That made his day!] I then threw your wallet into the big pink "pimp mobile" that was parked at the curb .... after I broke the windshield and side window and keyed the entire driver's side of the car. Later, I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell phone. Ma Bell just now shut down the line, although I only used the phone for a little over a day now, so what 's going on with that? Earlier, I managed to get in two threatening phone calls to the DA's office and one to the FBI, while mentioning President Obama as my possible target. The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while he traced your number etc.). ;In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you ... but I feel this type of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your threatened crime. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider, the career path you've chosen to pursue in life.. Remember, next time you might not be so lucky. Have a good day! Thoughtfully yours, Semper Fi, Alex

In my opinion though in regards to USAA, they still have the best customer service around with insurance claims, credit card/debit card problems, etc... and that can't be said for other banking companies out there. You are correct though when it comes to interest rates with home mortgages and vehicle purchases. For those I actually contact Pentagon Federal Credit Union, they seem to have the most competitive rates.

Well said! This is one of many reasons that many of today's military is wanting to get out when their time is up and strongly hoping that the VSP affects their year group and AFSC.

Just saw "The Rite" with Anthony Hopkins - definately a good movie! Hopkins should get a Oscar nomination for his performance in this movie.

Big thing currently in my opinion is that there are over 90,000 Americans living in Egypt and around the Cairo/Alexandria areas and currently the U.S. has not ordered their evacuation. I guess when that order comes through we know the sh*t has really hit the fan with no sign of recovery.

I believe it was the Heritage Conference (or whatever association runs the conference at DM) that placed the age restriction on the warbird pilots.

I have bought and sold a house at every location I've ever lived. I personnaly would rather put my money into something that will better my credit rating and build equity than to help somebody else pay their mortgage. If you are OK with dealing with the pain of finding a house and paying closing and then dealing with it all over again in about 3-4 years, then I would say buying is a great option (especially with todays economy).
