  1. Thoughts? I personally hope he fades away from politics but this would be crazier than Springer in the 90’s!
  2. That’s the thing, I have seen the rebel flag flown by both black and white people. Is it still considered a symbol of hate if a rebel flag is on a the truck being driven by a black person? I had a black guy in my squadron from TX who drove a big ass F-250 with 6” lift, 35” tires and the back window was covered by a rebel flag sticker. Still considered a hate symbol? Again, I’m not defending it and I probably am being dismissive about it because it doesn’t affect me like it does some people. I never grew up around it and it really wasn’t until I was stationed in MS that it became so prominent around me. I don’t see it anywhere on my base and I really don’t see it (minus a handful of people) in the town I live in. also, why can’t you ban it? I would think, especially in today’s day and age, that a wing/base CC has the right to ban symbols like the rebel flag from being shown on their base. If the DoD says that the rebel flag is a hate symbol, then ban it! Me personally, I would rather let the people fly the flag and plaster it all over their vehicles because then I know who they are and where they’re possible coming from. That’s just me though.
  3. I can see the connection and I guarantee there are racist people and extremist people in the military. I just don’t see it around the people I presently work with and I haven’t seen it with the people I have worked with. Hell, I’m originally from Iowa, have been called a Yankee and don’t see the appeal of the rebel flag. To some people in the South, the rebel flag is not a symbol of hate (this is a discussion for another day). I have been told that it’s “heritage, not hate” and “southern pride”. Again though, I’m in no way defending the rebel flag! Whatever the flag means, I just picture the driver of every truck with the rebel flag on it looking like the attached pics.
  4. “Extremism 'Has Reared Its Head' in Air Force Special Operations, General Says” “Slife cautioned that he doesn't think extremism is a widespread problem in AFSOC, though he does not have data showing its extent. But though he sees no signs of a "five-alarm fire," he acknowledged there is a problem in the U.S. military with extremism and said the command is not immune.” **** Which is it? **** I personally do not and have not seen the extremism that the news is talking about.
  5. It doesn’t say that he won’t approve leave, it says he probably won’t approve leave outside of CA. I don’t agree with it but this is left up to the CC.
  6. What’s sad is that it’s still an accusation and he was fired over that (if that is what it was for). I had a buddy who was named the Wing CC at a UPT base and when he was enroute, he was also accused. He was then promptly told not to report and he would no longer be the Wing CC and was turned back around to DC. Fast forward and he was found not guilty and the accuser was then charged for filing a false report. Career ruined, accusation followed him even though it was a false accusation, he promptly retires. I really wish they would keep their positions and command until actually found guilty...
  7. I’ve been thinking about getting a Tesla but you can’t beat good old American horsepower!!
  8. Still no mention on any channel but Fox News... https://www.foxnews.com/media/abc-cbs-nbc-andrew-cuomo-lindsey-boylan-sexual-harassment
  9. Because the news of Cruz going to Mexico covers up the Cuomo COVID nursing home fiasco in NYC on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, etc... As long as they keep talking about how bad Cruz and the GOP are, most people who really don’t follow current events will forget about Cuomo.
  10. 🥃🥃🥃 RIP
  11. We had a guy in my TFI squadron that would preach about the BT-67 any chance he got and he did so much that we thought he had a job lined up with them after retirement (he did and is now BD for them). The more I look at the BT-67 though and how it can be modified to conduct all aspects of what is needed in a place like Africa (airdrop, mobility, MEDEVAC, HA/DR, ISR, Strike) and what it has to offer (long loiter time, long range, unprepared surface ops), this could be a great aircraft to our PNs. https://www.baslerturbo.com/
  12. I really don’t think an AC-208 can replace the U-28. That’s like trading out a Ferrari for a Miata and saying they’re similar. https://www.defenseone.com/business/2021/02/new-plane-key-special-ops-vision-africa-general-says/172092/ The AC-208 is a great low cost ISR/Strike aircraft for third world countries but the US needs better for the ground troops.
  13. The AT-802U is good at what it’s intended for but I’ll argue that the IOMAX Archangel is better for multiple reasons. Both though have pros and cons and the cons outweigh the pros for the USAF compared to the AT-6C and A-29C. Pros: lower cost, long loiter time, weapons and payload Cons: slow airspeed, non-pressurized, low cockpit visibility, non-ejection seat https://iomax.net/archangel/ I like the Paramount Group Bronco II. Biggest problems though is that it’s not FAA certified and there’s no US based projection line yet. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/33277/new-team-pitches-south-africas-bronco-ii-light-attack-plane-to-american-special-operators
  14. People laugh but I would love to see a split ticket as the third party in the next POTUS election. Tulsi (D) with Crenshaw (R) or Haley (R) for example. Completely bi-partisan and able to pull the more independent and centrist votes away from the two major parties.
  15. Hurlburt has AFRC personnel at the AOC. I’m not sure if they’re 13O career field though. The one person I know who is a Reservist there is a 11F.
  16. I would never trade being a pilot for cyber but yes, his locations definitely beat my Pope, Vance, Whiteman, Osan, & Columbus! I would say my locations are still better than Cannon, Holloman, Minot, & Laughlin. But that’s my opinion...
  17. Don't think the retired rank really matters until O-6, and only if you want to be treated as a DV in retirement (get that sweet DV suite at the AF Inns) Or that sweet parking spot in front of the BX, Commissary and Club...
  18. 2 - highly recommend! Get the suit special from Mr. Tony’s!!
  19. Sweetness gave me my initial A-10 MR check in 2003 with the 74FS World Famous Flying Tigers at Pope. One week later I was flying in OIF. Great guy!!
  20. The real reason behind storming the Capital...
  21. First 8x initial cadre hours are programmed via the contracted syllabi and that’ll be the first 18 months of flying. After the initial cadre, nothing planned yet but those hours are being planned in the FY23 FYDP. PM me your address...
  22. Doing good. Taken a little longer than planned but they’re now on schedule. The planes will be arriving at end of this year and the CAAs will start flying them in Jan 2022.
