  1. There are no 1s or 0s, just circumstances....
  2. This is for the most part a true statement but it comes with a caveat. AFSOC & SOCOM leadership have been very clear that while SOF wants this capability they will not get ahead of Big Blue. SOCOM wants the AF to pay for the basic iron on the ramp and they will pay for the SOF peculiar equipment on the aircraft. SOCOM will not pay for the program in its entirety so if the AF doesn’t buy the iron AFSOC isn’t getting anything.
  3. What’s the matter with you?
  4. Dude there are weekly incidents of civilians running the ECP on military bases across the country (for a variety of reasons) and they don’t get shot, mainly because similarly to this guy they don’t show hostile intent thus the sky cops or MPs chase them down and arrest them. I honestly think that once this idiot got off the ground our processes worked. I really think the biggest risk during this whole shitshow was when he taxied onto the runway for takeoff. If a 777 sized aircraft would’ve been on takeoff or landing roll and he taxiied in front of them he could’ve killed hundreds of people before he even got airborne.
  5. Manchester: What if they asked you sign an agreement stating you get 4 years of raging followed by a mandatory CoS tour at a certain jt command?......
  6. Unofficial, but a buddy of mine is saying it was an A-29
  7. I've been in AFSOC and the MC-130 community for my entire career; AFSOC is only place in the AF I want to be; all the aircraft AFSOC owns have some awesome capabilities/mission sets and as with any community each has some drawbacks. MC-130s have an awesome mission and a great community; as the MC-130J starts to get spiral mod updates to bring it to/exceed the MC-130H standard things will only get better; caveat, as with anything AFSOC, you're going to be very busy. If AFSOC/MC-130s are what you're interested in keep pushing for them, but since you're young don't close your eyes to other communities/opportunities as you go through training. PM me if you have any detailed questions.
  8. Having worked directly for 2 SEALs and around several others in a joint job the last 18 months, none of this is surprising. I've been unimpressed with their leadership and accountability. It seems like a marked change from the Olson and McRaven era.
  9. That has to be a joke right?....
  10. Don't, let the notification process run its course for the families' sake.
  11. I feel a strong disturbance in the Force, like a 1000 Eagle and Raptor pilots collectively groaning in agony....
  12. It'd be a snort of the Irish if it's Redbreast
  13. That shit'll buff out
  14. Notifications are starting to trickle out, just heard from a buddy of mine that he made it one above
  15. I always considered myself extremely lucky and felt very humbled to have been trained by some of the guys who flew this mission. Getting to listen to their stories first hand during sims was always an awesome experience.
  16. Rest easy bros
  17. My wife had an interview cancelled today for a GS nurse position at the local mil clinic so I would imagine it'll impact the military indirectly at the least.
  18. New Mexico 150th SOW is a guard unit in Albuquerque that flys CV-22s for the Osprey FTU, they only have a few positions but it might be something worth looking into if you want to stay in the Osprey.
  19. Tilt Rotor Air-to-Air Refueling
