  1. Are you really ascribing a lack of flight discipline to people being butthurt about not being fighter pilots? YGBFSM. If nothing else it's a product of our self congratulating culture where you can't criticize anyone, and have to put a positive spin on something. We (as a culture) are loath to call an assclown an assclown, therefore the assclown continues doing buffoonerous things because he thinks it's ok to do so, and nobody really calls him on it (don't want to hurt his feelings, or write something that might hurt his career).
  2. I fail to see how is this is any less serious than flying nuclear weapons XC. "You will come home" is (in my opinion) THE most sacred promises this nation makes to its service members. ANY violation of that trust is unforgivable.
  3. Can we ever expect this to be brought to the light of day (and responsible individuals prosecuted, if such action is warranted), or do you think it will forever remain something that everyone has forgotten?
  4. I've never seen a wiring diagram that told me how to fly an airplane....
  5. Maybe they were selling airplanes
  6. What ever happened to our friendly neighborhood "Congressman" who vowed to get to the bottom of this? It's been over a year and not a peep from him. Did "they" get to him too?
  7. I rocked my solo so much that a guy driving down Hwy 90 called the wing commander and immediately hired me to fly his Gulfstream 650
  8. But I thought the Russians were our friends?
  9. It's not just the drool being taught at PME that is the problem, it's the leadership mentality that a leader is ineffective if he/she is not continually doing SOMETHING. The fact of the matter is that by and large the Air Force is knocking it out of the park with regard to accomplishing assigned taskings. Leadership seems to think that they have run out of large rocks to crush, and thus have turned their attention to small rocks (uniforms, etc). Furthermore, leaders are pressured to change things for the better within their organization, thus leading to a desire to fix what isn't broken. Uniforms are a quick and easy thing to change that has no mission impact (aside from crushing morale, but that was shot YEARS ago, so no loss there).
  10. Do you do your measurements with your flightsuit on (to account for the extra bulk of the bag) or off? I'm seriously considering getting one from Pops, I'm just not entirely clear on the process
  11. By the way, third grade history would show that Muslim anti-semitism is a fairly new thing, really only a post WWII thing. Anything else to add skippy?
  12. I saw it, I may never be the same again.
  13. Might want to check your facts... Muslims also trace their history to Abraham.
  14. And that's the thing-- I have no problem showing respect to the Qataris (or anyone else for that matter), but when it's idiot shoes forcing idiot shoe rules that's what breeds resentment. I'd be willing to bet a lot of the hostility that is held toward the Qataris has to do with the idiot AMERICAN shoes forcing their idea of "respect" on people who otherwise would have no problem showing the kind of respect that is due to anyone, much less a host. I also think that a lot of the problems that are encountered with the Qataris is that they have to deal with HNCC, who by and large are the biggest bunch of idiot shoes ever collected in one location at one time. If I had to deal with the HNCC shoe idiots all the time, I'd be a dick too.
  15. Especially since apparently the CSAF has known about it for a year. This is simply unforgivable. In my opinion one of the most important promises this nation makes to its service members is that you WILL come home. To break that trust in any way is inexcusable.
  16. It seems that it's always easier to make things MORE queepy, MORE painful and MORE stupid. You always have the blanket statement of "I am allowed to make things more 'restrictive'" Once a policy is dug in well enough, you have enough idiots sold on its "purpose" that changing it is nearly impossible. It's very hard to roll back queep, because the immediate response is "you're making something LESS restrictive!" You have to push back against an entire cadre of idiots who bought off that the queep made people safer/better trained/more informed, even if all the queep did was make them miserable. It really is a strange paradox. When some jackass proposes queep, he seems to be surrounded by a bunch of spineless yes-men, but when someone wants to roll back that same queep those yes-men suddenly grow a pair and dig in to protect their precious stupidity.
  17. He was over due for Information Protection, and therefore was locked out of the aircraft computers.
  18. I heard he had a beer light tab patch, and that caused the mishap.
  19. I gave him the 3-1 for the MiG-28
  20. It's posts like this that make me miss the good old days of the minus sign. I give a shit because we're NOT paid to execute policy, we're paid to support and defend the constitution. I'm not saying that this kill wasn't constitutional; however, your blanket statement implying that we are just to do what we are told to do is not only false, it is dangerous.
  21. I heard he got turned into a newt.
  22. I'm with you on your solutions; however, I would caution you to at LEAST give your DO a heads up before going VFR direct to Capt Bag-o-Douche. You do NOT want your boss to get blindsided by his boss because Capt Bag-O-Douche's boss just called him wondering why some smartass LTs were in his office bitching about jumping up and down (you know how stories get distorted). Here is how I recommend you proceed (technique only). 1. Go to your DO and tell him the story in full, preferably with names and specific words/actions of those involved 2. Advice your DO of your intentions to (professionally) confront Capt. Bag-O-Douche 3. Request ROE from your DO as applicable 4. With PID, CDE and ROE act in accordance with the SPINS.
  23. But seriously, seems like a cool jet to fly, with a VERY boring mission to do. Makes JSTARS sound like action packed adrenaline pumping action.
  24. Everyone knows that vodka to russians is like spinach to popeye. This just tells me they did everything they could.
