  1. Or it could be a primer on how to make E-9 , stratification and not deploy.
  2. Maybe it's a self gratification class on how to not make a mess in the tent, that would be useful.
  3. The games are almost unwatchable, rosters are unrecognizable season to season and Goodell winning his penis fight and putting the games most marketable player(Brady) on suspension. I'm rooting for Brady so he can be handed that Superbowl MVP award by Goodell. Besides I'm a Bear fan and haven't had anything to root for, go Pat's. I wonder why most players are not being tackled by the flowing lock's protruding from most helmets these days?
  4. At least on the mx side of your wing they had a shop just to make sure everybody had their fecal matter all together and we just got on the E-3 to rotate or drove down to KOKC to get a flight to Baltimore to catch the rotater. What screwed everything up was bringing in a commercial jet to Ktik and deal with a ATOC that are straight reservists that are out of practice which turned everything into an CF. Coming home dealing with the customs prick (ex ABM'r) at KTIK meant a 5 hour stay on base before you can go home. Remember pleading with a new ACC to stop at Bangor to clear customs but pressed home and stayed on the jet for 2 hours in the bird cage.
  5. I'm reading about an USMC General telling the troops to turn off the cell phones and get off the grid. Later on they talk about the Navy turning off the GPS and doing celestial navigation. My question is when was the last time the USAF navigator put a sextant through the port to shoot stars? If we ever get into a WW3 type shooting war one would think our GPS satellites would be a priority target as much as an aircraft carrier . https://breakingdefense.com/2016/08/turn-off-that-iphone-commandant-tells-marines/

  7. Maybe you can steal from the Navy where the pilots have additional duties to include MX officer which fly all the OCF/FCF's after phase inspection and each pilot with their name on the side of a jet have to do EPR's and other personnel stuff for the MX troops working his jet such as signing off on a Art 15 for being a bone head and answering failed QA evals and DSV's. Maybe fight for a young enlisted kid who shows promise who is on the wrong side of the one mistake Air Force instead of waiting until they are GP/CC to deal with enlisted matters. Teenagers are fun to deal with and I know why MX and Tigers eat their young. This is more to the fighter side than the heavy side due to enlisted aircrew.
  8. Blaming a retired U.S. general now. Can we move our nukes out of there now?https://www.foxnews.com/world/2016/07/25/turkish-newspaper-accuses-us-general-planning-failed-coup.html
  9. Old Joke, how do you make a million dollars with an airline? Answer, start with a billion. I think they need a history nut silicon valley oligarch to keep this thing above water, Paul Allen please pick up the white phone. I believe he owns and trying to restore a flyable ME-262, with the original ZUMO engines reversed engineered with more robust internal parts to last longer. The two things you need that make's flight possible, air speed and money.
  10. FiFi was on the ground for years dealing with its original type engines making metal. I believe during the war we had losses of B-29's due to the engines catching fire or failing. It was rushed through production to combat without most of the flight testing we do in this era. https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2016/july/18/doc-takes-flight-at-last
  11. When is the 2nd flight? Will they bring the gear up?I read that they relied heavily on the CAF FiFi's mx/ops crew for advice and getting their own crew dogs type rated. Looking forward to seeing both B-29's in formation.
  12. Thinking long term here, if we lose Incirlik our next move is to fully support the Peshmerga Kurds militarily and economically. The only reason this has not happened is because we want to keep using Incirlik. I also think that is the least of Erdogon worries is us or the Kurds. Putin will not be happy having his Black Sea fleet and oil tankers not being able to use the Bosphorus Strait. The next question after that, does NATO honor it's treaty obligations if Turkey and Russia lock horns.
  13. Incirlik was my second home in the 90's, I wonder if the Turks will make a play and confiscate our equipment there. Just getting parts to fix aircraft and dealing with Turkish customs takes days. They have a nasty habit of when you turn in a vehicle to the motor pool for inspection they condemn it , repaint it, then put Turkish AF reg numbers on it. Had to endure 2 strikes by the on base Turkish workers which closed down all base services. I imagine they are going through that now. I hope Erdogon remembers the majority of his Air Force has to have USAF logistics to keep flying.
  14. Do you think if O-6's are disobeying CSAF due to the fact that is the way they made O-6?
  15. A Crew Chief more eloquent than myself wrote this and has been making the rounds. I remember her as an love hate relationship scooping snow off her at K.I. Sawyer.
  16. Dude, still turning wrenches as a civilian, and management sucks out on this side too. If your argument held water I imagine there would be a lot of dead MX officers now. Easiest way to get rid of one is just follow the mx manual and safety rules to the letter and we won't meet a flying schedule or revenue flight. If your icon is correct all you had to do is show up to a backshop or flight line and production stopped. I loved answering QA reports for Amn Snuffy wearing a floppy hat on the flight line with no engines running high noon in the desert and Amn Snuffy just got NJP for 3rd degree sunburn on top of his bald head by working his ass off. You might have been part of the problem. Yes I liked it better when we were under Op's instead of a bunch of spread sheet accountants.
  17. They're shooting there own officers now. I read about toxic leadership but this is getting out of hand . I imagine on base concealed carry is now been buried.
  18. Navy pals on the E-6 are always scraping the inboard pods.
  19. Looking at McDew's bio, at least you can say is that he knows the stark terror of getting a heavy KC-135A using water injection off the ground being assigned as an company grade to Loring and Castle.
  20. My favorite Lori (Gen Robinson) moment, In a former job I was taking care of some transit F-15's from Eglin RONing at KTIK. I had the lead plane which had an O-6 flying it. As soon as I had it shut down and the pilot debriefed a very attractive ( 552 ACW CC) woman wearing flip flops and Daisy dukes comes up and gives a very warm welcome to the O-6. Needless to say that F-15 was the farthest thing from the mind of that pilot. Maybe it's time we had an non pilot in charge, if it's her I'm sure at the end of tenure when she retires she will be successful as with every other job she held.
  21. Maybe it will have the HAL 2000, how about a nice game of chess?
  22. Just to put a bad OPR in perspective , it could be worse, came across this about North Korean officers. https://video.foxnews.com/v/4752874407001/expert-kim-jong-un-may-have-gone-too-far/?playlist_id=trending#sp=show-clips Seems many top officers have met their demise of pissing off the top guy, one even executed by an anti-aircraft gun. Not much to look forward over there out of uniform.
  23. I was a C-137 FCC in the 89th MAW then, just got back from Geneva with SEC State James Baker to give diplomacy one last chance, got back to my apartment to watch Bernard Shaw report live from Baghdad when the bombing started.
  24. Well it could be a cost factor also, its a lot cheaper to fly a mud hen with tanker support than a B-1. See a bunch a B-1's sitting here at KTIK in different sorts of disrepair.
