  1. WTF, they even offering regional band guys a in. https://www.docdroid.net/kCfNqTe/fy16-prior-service-afsc-list.xlsx.html
  2. Forward deployed on the flight line changing a engine and hearing them in the hanger with a rousing tribute and review to Walt Disney. If I was king I get rid of of the male soloists and keep the females who can sing and good looking dressed like any other female pop star with songs that are not 5 years old. The troops like rap, metal and top 40 plus have a couple civilian comedians who are not afraid to tell senior leadership jokes at their expense.
  3. Sounds just like the way the USAF parked all the KC-135E's panicking that their engine struts were about ready to fall off, we replaced all the struts during PDM along with installing carbon fiber brakes.
  4. Having two Confederate flags on his bike driving through the hood, that was sure smart or was he looking to provoke?
  5. Came across this and noticed the tail number was a jet I used to be a Crew Chief on back in the mid 80's at EGUN. All I can say it was providence that it happened on the takeoff roll and not airborne which would have been a much worse outcome. https://www.omaha.com/news/military/disaster-averted-at-offutt-but-major-questions-remain/article_41bfc96a-8b03-510b-b0f1-7d7d8633cd26.html
  6. Not to be picky but would this be a US airshow even though it was in then West Germany.
  7. Doesn't matter, it will through time be known by a unofficial nickname i.e. Lawn Dart, Mud Hen, Hog, Fred, Barney, etc. In my world we just call them 135's or when A models flew Steamjets. Recievers will just call them Mogas ,Shell, or Texaco.
  8. Wait for the SIB, First reports all have one thing in common "THEY'RE WRONG".
  9. I work on KC-135's everyday getting them ready for their FCF's after PDM, it's kind of nice looking at something newer once in awhile.
  10. I wonder what the communication capabilities are going to be looking at this picture.
  11. Already seeing this at the depot, had a TF-33 powered OC-135 here and they have to rely on old farts like me to work on the old Pratt's. Most new mechanics don't even know what EPR target means
  12. Outside of Amarillo Army Airfield, I wonder how much the ATSF RR got reimbursed?
  13. I'm guessing the POV is from another gunner looking over the left horizontal stab. 108 mk82's saying hello.
  14. Hey whats wrong with K.I. Sawyer ?, It was my favorite base, yea you had to get used the 300"s of snow a year but we were equipped for it unlike anywhere else you get a dusting and the world stops. It sure was a whole lot better than being at Barksdale and Minot. Where else is it a wing down day for the first day of gun season for deer season.
  15. These guys sweet talked somebody.
  16. Here is a interesting article on why we went with the KC-10 and not the KC-25. https://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/the-worlds-only-kc-747-tanker-is-flown-by-the-iranian-a-1581314071
  17. If ever in Wisconsin I suggest Spotted Cow,it is only sold in Wi. https://www.newglarusbrewing.com/index.cfm/beers/ourbeers/beer/spotted-cow
  18. Pierre Sprey is making the rounds saying the F-35 is junk, definitely from the Boyd school of fighter design. https://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/pierre-spreys-anti-f-35-diatribe-is-half-brilliant-and-1592445665
  19. This makes the F-111 look like a huge success but it did one thing, bomber , very well. The F-35 sounds like it doesn't do anything well and the corporate guys just want to send guys to their death for profit and face saving. Were Screwed.
  20. Worked at a MRO that did a PDM on one of their C-130's, it was it amazing that it made across the Pacific with one working altimeter and a hand held GPS plus feathering a engine for high EGT and just using it for takeoff. They loved what they got back but hated what we charged them so it was a one and done. I can only wonder what the rest of the fleet was like.
  21. Those are brand new jets just off the assembly line. I wonder the way things are going if they will ever leave for Iraq.
  22. Went back 12 pages to make sure wasn't posted before but I saw this today, so RPA guys boo their commanders. https://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/06/20/how-america-broke-its-drone-force.html
  23. I'm Shocked, Shocked I tell you that the DOD paid for that and the NFL took the money. The NFL that paragon of American virtue, and values. Excuse me , I have to sign off to kill my fighting dogs, pregnant girlfriends, punch my wife in the mouth, and perform a drive by shooting. But hey we took care of the under inflated footballs.
  24. Don't remember testing that at PDM, is that something you install in the field .
