  1. Not to be officer bashing but its time to totally get the chain of command out of the justice system and have a separate all civilian legal branch for the DOD only answerable to the SECDEF. But on a side note how do field grade, flag grade officers and SNCO's expect to lead troops when the enlisted guys don't neither trust nor respect the ones appointed over them. Without trust in this business you have nothing, might as well join the corporate world and wear slacks and polo shirt and screw everyone around you to get to the top.
  2. Work at KOKC, told to beat feet when a tornado touched down at El Reno which is due west from the airport. Wiley Post had traffic divert to us at Will Rogers.
  3. I used to live in Moore, I believe my old house is gone along with a horse farm which most of the animals had to be put down. There was a school with 3rd graders and younger that took a hit and the kids are not accounted for. I got chased into a shelter for 3 separate warning's going off today. I believe we are going to have mass causalities maybe bigger than the May 3rd 1999 tornado.
  4. Lets see murderous Islamist or a murderous Tyrant. Is it possible that we can help both sides totally eradicate each other just short of nuclear weapons.

BOYLAN, (415)522-2887, 450 GOLDEN GATE AVENUE, 4TH FLOOR WEST SIDE, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94102-3434. C-9 tail number 73-1681 In the thirty years this aircraft was assigned to the 89th Airlift Wing (Feb 1975-Sep 2005) it flew Presidential missions, Vice President, First Lady, Cabinet Secretaries (Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, others), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, U.Senators, U.S. Representatives, Four-Star Generals, Admirals, Foreign Heads of State and other foreign dignitaries. This was not the official Air Force One however the various U.S Presidents had occasion to use it. This particular jet was used most by the first lady's and congressional delegations. However, all in the above list used the jet at one time or another during the thirty years it served with the 89TH AW.
  6. It appears that we do not have in possession of the FDR and CVR and the locals are going to give it to the Russians to read. It sounds like the State Dept defering to everyone except us. On a second thought, it was fortunate that it crashed in a open area, if one civilian or farm animal died we would be packing up Manas to the AOR. Never trust a Krgy!! https://www.eurasianet.org/node/66935
  7. What it looks like on a C-17. Now on a 747
  8. Looking at the vertical stab, just wondering how far from the crash scene it is and also the rudder which was missing. Only 2 milk bottle pins hold the the stab on the jet, if the bushings were worn I bet this jet would have had autopilot problems of constantly kicking off but unable to duplicate in the chocks.Seen it before. Also the rudder actuator could cause a stab departure if defective. Uncommanded input. Old pilot told me once you can land without a vertical stab but could not takeoff.
  9. Knowing Krgys cops he was probably looking for a survivor to charge a landing fee or shake down the photographer.
  10. Does anybody know how the winds and turbulence are around Manas this time of year? Those mountains Tien Shen peek out at 19000 ft. Know a bunch of tanker dudes when I was in the AOR using OAMS as a ops stop for fuel before heading back to Manas during the runway repairs. BTW Manas is still a shitty runway.
  11. Most bases besides Bagram have MOG issues especially when you super heavies on the ramp, anytime you have a A330, AN-124's, C-5's and 747's it fills the ramp quick . At OAMS we could only have one on the ramp one time when I was there last year or we parked you outside the wire on the old runway. Plus POL issues you usually only had two R-11 drivers on duty which turned a transoceanic trip fuel load into a 6 hour affair and these NAC guys knew this so they went to Bagram for a large top off. We always passed on to TACC our POL limitations and of course I had better luck trying to get a pig to sing.
  12. It checks if they came from Bastion, POL support at most bases is usually less than 80K 2 trucks than you have to wait for a hour due to the trucks have to refill, easier to get a large upload at Bagram. It also matters if you get there and a C-5 or C-17 is taking a big upload which leaves nothing for you and fighting crew rest issues.
  13. All it takes is one tie down not done correctly. At OAMS I've seen USAF ATOC personnel walk away from a NAC bird due to some shady stuff being done refusing to be part of it to protect themselves.
  14. Grapevine speculation on over rotation, I would look hard at the form F , the TCN's they have loading are not known for following standards. Maybe a load shift to aft CG.
  15. Probably worked that tail number numerous times when it passed through OAMS which goes hand in hand with knowing the crew members. They have been moving allot of MRAPS out of theater and other up armored vehicles putting them on cookie sheets compared to a 463L pallet. RIP.
  16. Ancient history but this crash reminds of this one.https://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/jomalley.htm
  17. Chuck Norris was in the Air Force so all other branch's are invalid!!
  18. #1 reason to become a USAF pilot is because these guys are honor bound to get you home if you become a pedestrian. https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTc_lkuJWE8xeR3pJAXtYUQtcHFIvinKS9t9UPg2ZTSQZauz4Lr
