Number 1 reason for not joining the Navy, that stupid looking hat.

I find it interesting that the US AIR team will run the new airline with the AA CEO as chairman. My brother is a A&P line mx guy at ORD and he told me most of AA's unions worked with US Air to help make this possible. The management team and worker bees have been in a loveless marriage since the first concessions were voted for and then all the executives to huge bonus's. Over 900 acft fleet, that will be a lot of MD-80's being parked when their D check is due. I'm sure Boeing is cutting deals so they can dump the technical support for the MD-80's.

More good press... $1 billion wasted on Air Force computer system

If we managed our WW2 officers like this Eisenhower would have been rotated out after the invasion of Sicily and Patton would have never seen Sicily, and Nimitz would have been done after Midway. -

So the cost of a OPR bullet is over a billion now. Did the DB at least get promoted fort signing off on this. Can somebody explain to me why some officers have to reinvent the wheel when they get into a position to implement shit like this. -
Lets just get to the point of this whole argument, some female officers were suing the DOD because of the combat restrictions and glass ceiling they encounter when it comes to a combat command slot and promotions. Yes there are women who can qualify and get through the training but would they destroy their body and forced out on a medical discharge before their 30th birthday. Fiscally it does not make sense due to the medical costs incurred by this. I seen women work in supply and acft mx and their bodies were a mess due to wear and tear before they were 30. Since we are in these fiscally short era it would make sense to make the fitness standards the same across the board regardless of gender. I am a 50 year old male who can score in the 90's with the current USAF standards for a my age group. I looked at a under 30 group of female standards and the run was identical to mine where a 30 and under year old male gets slammed hard if runs over a 9:12. If we equalize the standards with pass or out the door just think of the money we save in long term personnel costs.

Hey! Don't forget forget all the support jobs when it comes to the PT test or physical standards, if I got to do X number of repetitions of a exercise and run a certain time for my age why does it have to gender specific. Sit ups or push ups should be equal and stop telling men we are stronger and faster and should do more than women. Lets make all weight, height and physical standards in all the same in all the branches. Equality!!!!

OK, I went to 6 different stores in the OKC metro just to buy some .22 LR. None to be found anywhere. Who is hoarding it? I just wanted to go plinking with my son and could not find any. Is everybody panic buying every time BHO, Cuomo and Bloomberg find a microphone?

Its not the components it is the structure and block #'s of the 64 models. The old W models were 62 models which 5 former C-135B's were converted into RC's tail numbers 62-4125 to 62-4130. Those tails never had the plumbing or boom ever installed on them. Numerous 62 models in the AMARC now in a KC-135A configuration. Since those 3 air-frames were already a R, CFM powered it was probably more a cost saving measure.

Was in the 89th during the storm, I remember him flying on my jet and his staff plus the SECDOD Cheney and CJCS Powell to the Kingdom to explain to the King what might happen if Saddam decided to come south some more. Still seems like yesterday.

Smart asses one little effing vowel. Chile https://www.airliners.net/photo/Chile---Air/Boeing-KC-135E-Stratotanker/2129447/L/&sid=cd425af4d1601ca8aabd56463fc3d529

Plenty of retired KC-135E's, 3 have been sold to Chili. More affordable than the KC-330 and more proven too.

I guess a Frogfoot is not designed or equipped for air to air.

Look at our history, we always buy weapons that would have been useful for the last war. How many MRAPS do we have and how many do we need now and will hundreds of them sitting in Kuwait ever come home. But on the flip side of that arguement we also develop weapons from lessons learned sometimes in blood and usally on the fly.

Get a Congressman involved, it worked with the Collins Foundation.

Expecting a 11+ foot storm surge in NYC, just looked up elevations for JFK 14ft and LGA 21 ft, that can't be good since both are near the water.

I looked into this when I retired in 2003, they all asked me to take off my MSgt stripe and come in as a SSgt. As an ART in MX anyhow you get WG-8 thru 10 pay, on UTA weekends you lose 2 days of retirement pay but get 4 days of drill pay which makes up for it plus. If activated your retired pay is stopped and get active duty pay and allowances in your grade. When back off activation your retirement starts again plus what you just served added in as a multiple to your retired pay, which would have been nice for me since I am final pay since I enlisted before Sept 8 1980. Since I retired as a AD MSgt and if I make Chief in the AFRC when I retire for good my AD retirement reverts to highest grade held. I think it would have been a good deal when thinking about it but was put off when they told me I would lose two stripes and all certifications just to walk across the hall to our associate unit.

Sounds like what we really need is a updated CH-3 jolly green, bigger than a HH-60 and smaller than a CH-47 or CH-53 that is able to operate at 8000 to 14000 feet.

I wonder why no one is talking about the CH-53K. https://www.sikorsky.com/StaticFiles/Sikorsky/Assets/Attachments/Mission%20Downloads/CH-53K_MissionBrief.pdf

Sounds like a great idea , just like the non aggression pact that Stalin and Hitler signed. Now since all I know I read in the papers, lets see you make a deal with your sworn enemy who refers to you as the Great Satan for a very short term gain like to swing a election. What can go wrong? Didn't Reagan get screwed dealing with them over a guns for hostages deal?
