I had a firestone walker double barrel ale today. Awesome and full bodied. Good hop and malt balance. Not super sweet, but not so many hops that you feel like the enamel on your teeth is being ripped off.

Just a heads up, but make sure y'all wear white socks when you go to take your PT test. I'll admit I should have known the reg, but the FACs freaked out and almost didn't let me test today because I was wearing grey socks instead of white ones. I should have just told them they were old and dirty or something. Overall this whle ordeal just furthered my thoughts that PT tests should be done in squadron.

Ground was broken on the dorms many months ago. They're a terrible idea IMO. For all the noobs about to show up to Pensacola soon: fight to stay off base. Perdido has some awesome beachfront spots to rent. Avoid Balfour like the plague.

IFS and the right sight picture......

I was able to get leather ones from the parachute riggers shop on base. I am one of those CSO types, so that probably doesn't help you too much. Most of the upt guys there had cloth patches specific to their bases. Patches and such shouldn't be the big focus for you. Know those bold face and ops limits. Cold. You don't wanna be the guy who dorks that one up. -
Is that a money thing? Time and effort thing? Also, sounds like a challenge. I like challenges. And I do know people in the unit as well. Who knows what'll happen. I just like to know my options for both my and my families future.

I've been reading on sites like military.com that they're increasing the amount of people allowed to palace chase. Any idea as to what that'll look like? Specific year groups? Also, I've read through this post and there isn't too much infoon how common it is for someone with squashed bug wings to get hired by a guard/reserve unit to get sent to UPT through the palace chase program. Any info on that as well?

Seriously? Not water soluble?

Sv86a is parachuting water survival. Cv4pp and cv4pa are t-6 and t-1 CSO training. -
They have this years edition of sam Adams infinium at the shopette at DM. It takes a little getting used to but it's definitely an interesting brew.

Anyone else want to punch Alec Baldwin in his fat liberal yap

Just heard about this on the Stern show. They played a bunch of his other rants. Funny dude, but a total butthole. -
That's a very solid point. However, I don't think that mentality is as common as it should be amongst students. Also, I didn't see many instructors selling that idea either. Maybe that's the point of the memos being written. To see if the students writing them have that concept understood.

Unfortunately, I dont think a lot of those attitudes will change until every single leadership position isn't held by three strike eagle guys and a bone guy. In my experience, I was on the verge of being ridiculed by leadership for not wanting to go the strike route. It's as if they took offense to it. I also found it quite interesting that in my class and many of my bros in other classes that wanted 15s at the beginning of the year ended up not wanting them towards drop night. Number one reason for the change: they didn't like the people at the school house from that community. I think instructors need to give students credit for having the SA to realize that while going fast and blowing stuff up is cool, not liking the people and the community/culture you're associated with will make life blow no matter what your job is.

Heard something about leadership down there requiring memos to be written by those who want mud hens. Any truth to this any why? Ego stroking?

I was severely pissed off when I got back from SERE a week ago and was told that I needed to complete that cbt promptly. At least it was fresh in my mind so it went by fairly quickly.

I'm a brewer as well. It's a great hobby. I was able to brew a few times during nav school. It was great for our grad parties and stuff. Like people have said you can spend tons of money on it or you can go the cheap route. I've stuck with the cheap route and have been pretty successful. My brown ale won an award in a competition in California earlier this year, so I'm proof that you don't need to spend tons of money to make good beer. Also, I recommend finding a local home brew club and joining. It's a great way to meet locals and learn a lot about brewing and beer. Plus those are great guys and gals to call up when you've forgotten to buy priming sugar or something and the local store is closed. A good shop to order stuff from is Maryland homebrew. I worked for them throughout out college and they're very nice and knowledgable people. They give a 10% military discount too!

Any specifics on the EWO side of the house?

Ha! I dunno man. I tell lots of people about these forums, so hopefully more people will sign up and start posting. I know there are some instructors here who post so they can help too. And no idea about the buffs. I had a thought that there are three CSOs on board so they need more people. That however, does not explain why there haven't been more RCs dropping. Tons of CSOs there too. Oh well, some folks are pissed about getting buffs, but most are just fine with it.

I know it was mentioned earlier, but Unbroken is an outstanding read. So is the Heart and the Fist by Eric Greitens.

This is totally just a rumor, so please don't bite my head off... Word around Pcola is that a dude has already washed out of the AC FTU at KHRT. Seemed like a sharp guy too. Any AC guys notice anything missing from studs coming out of here?

Two in mine. one guy is top and the other was solid middle. Both good guys coming to the community.
